I have never been to a veterinary clinic that cared so much. They take their time, they ease into everything, they are truly there for the wellbeing of your furry loved ones. We have had okay experiences and terrible experiences but today was something I’ve never witnessed in all my years of bringing one of my animals to the vet. Highly highly recommend!!!!!!

I moved out of state in November but just wanted to leave a review in appreciation of all the great care provided for my 2 years of being there. We left with a health issue that unfortunately needed follow up but the initial blood work and preliminary ultrasound results were extremely helpful for the specialist care we got elsewhere. Oliver has since gained weight with his symptoms managed via medication from a specialist and I'm grateful to Funkstown vet for their proactive care which helped me get on top of the issue quickly.

This was my 1st time using this vet. My Jeremiah hurt his leg and needed a sick appointment. I called right at 8:00 in the morning, as they instructed me to do the night before, and got an appointment with no issues. I was allowed to go inside with him the whole time. The doctor and assistants were all very kind and professional. They made me feel welcomed. I felt like they were being just as gentle with my dear, sweet boy even when I wasn't looking, so I didn't sit with anxiety waiting for him to get back from the x-ray. Treats were given to help him feel better during the processes. (Loved seeing the squeezy cheese!) I would definitely recommend these people!

Yesterday my family dog had to be put down unexpectedly. I unfortunately wasn’t able to be there for my grandparents, but from what I heard the staff was absolutely amazing, and helped my grandparents through such a tough time and cared for our dog buttercup. Thank you so much.

My puppy absolutely LOVES the staff here! She looks forward to get visits because she knows she will get so many hugs, cuddles and snacks!! Everything is reasonably priced from medications to vaccines. I'm so glad I found them!

They take care of all of my fur babies and I trust them so much. They have been amazing and I won’t go to another vet . They have helped my 16 year old dog get back to happy and healthy they’ve cared for all of my cats . I have no complaints about this business or the employees . Bring your animals here for the best care!

I would not recommend the Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown. I have taken my dog here on two occasions as a last resort. Each time, the service was unsatisfactory. The staff are rude and do not communicate. I took my dog for a check-up after waiting in my car for over 20 minutes past my appointment time (they also do not communicate that you must call in and wait for someone to meet you at your car). They brought my dog out in less than 5 minutes and the vet said everything looked great. The next day I noticed my dog had what appeared to be an ear infection as his ears felt warm to the touch and had an odor. I would think that an ear exam would be included in a wellness check. In communication with the clinic, they offered no solution or explanation to their negligence.

One way to check if reviews are paid is to go to the Facebook page. If you can’t see reviews it’s because they have removed that feature due to BAD service. This is NOT a good vet or office. Just out for the money. Keep looking. In my experienceThe receptionist is rude. So this is the face of this practice. First impressions ZERO points!Nail trims ONLY if you are part of the practice. To become part of this practice you have to pay before you even get into your car to go to your appointment. They only use oral flea meds. Nothing else. Limited thought process screams go someplace else.The office visit is 100.00 and you have to pay at time of booking appointment. That’s really high. Screams in it for the money. Can’t make an appointment unless you pay for service upfront. Never been to a vet that charges you beforehand. Again screams I’m doing this for the money.Just find another vet. Don’t bother.

I’ve been taking my pets here for the last two years and have been extremely happy with them so far. My pets have mainly seen Dr. Cumley and Dr. Sausen but everyone I’ve dealt with at the practice, from vet techs to the receptionists on the phone, have been very helpful, knowledgeable and extremely nice. They take the time to listen to and address my questions and concerns and do a great job in explaining things. Plus they are great at handling both my dog and my cats. I feel very confident that my babies are getting the best care available. Plus, they have a really great app where you can message them questions and make appointments so you don’t have to make any phone calls! My only complaint would be the prices but I’m pretty sure vet prices are about as bad everywhere else too.

This Animal Health Clinic has a solid reputation.They have been there for me for all of my pets for many years.They are honest and caring and patient.They are truthful and dependable.I trust them completely.I have had both dogs and cats in my life, this group of vets know both and more.I give them more than five stars, I give them the gold standard trophy, if there is one .

AHCF is ABSOLUTELY the best! We have been treated like family since day one. Our pooch is not the friendliest, but the doc's and staff are always patient and accommodating. So for him, (Rock our pooch) going to the vet is a now a less stressful event thanks to the team at AHCF! When you call or arrive or just stop in, the front desk staff are always super pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful; they always take the time to make sure that you are well taken care of. Now for the doc's! Dr's Scrivener and Ridenour are nothing short of OUTSTANDING! And most recently, Rock has been seen by Dr. Ridenour. Rock is not very fond of men, but Doc Ridenour has such a tremendous level of patience and a great working relationship with his patients, that it makes the visit so much more palatable.Lastly and as I first stated, they make you feel like family and they are by far ... THE BEST VET FOR YOUR PET/LOVED ONE(S)!!!!!!!!!! Five Stars isnt enough, 10's in my book!

I haven’t been a client long but I found out my dog recently had cancer and my previous vet was a very small office and didn’t have the capability of doing x-rays. I called Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown and they were able to get us in quickly to do scans. The doctors and the techs have all been very helpful, empathetic and understanding. Unfortunately my sweet girl has another tumor and the staff has been great with getting prescriptions filled quickly and talking me through what next steps will look like. I highly recommend their services and I really have appreciated them during a difficult time.

First I have to say I have recently switched to this vetinarian Health Clinic. I say that because my experience is solely based on curbside service and care for my cat. I decided to switch to The Animal Clinic of Funkstown because it has been highly recommended by friends and family. The staff are very friendly professionals. You can tell they genuinely care about your 4 legged fur family member. The curbside transition is very seamless. During the visit/appointment you receive a phone call every step of the way from the staff and then the treating Dr. My cat was treated correctly and is almost completely better. I was very impressed with their process, organizational set up and care! That is hard to find these days!

We've just started taking our senior kitty to the Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown, due to our previous vet's office closing. Our kitty, Charlie, had to be seen quickly due to an eye infection, and Funkstown was able to accommodate us. They were very professional, kind, and compassionate. The vet explained everything, answered my questions, and I never felt rushed in our appointments. I found their pricing to be on par with other vets in the area. I feel good about taking Charlie there going forward.

I took my cat in for her annual exam. This was her first time going to this particular vet. I was a little worried because my cat can be very difficult to handle, especially in a strange environment. But the folks there were wonderful with her! I was amazed and relieved by how well they were able to deal with a very stressed kitty! They even cut her nails and no one got injured! ; ) Professional and very well organized and efficient. Highly recommend.

I have used them for my cats since I moved here 4 years ago. I brought my boyfriends kitten in for her shots this week. I utilized curbside and received amazing service. Everything was efficient and even received a call from the vet to discuss what was done, and when the next visit would be. This office has always been great, but I am impressed by how well curbside went.

I recently moved to the area from Baltimore and then found myself with a new puppy and no vet nearby! A friend of mine found this vet for me by looking up Fear Free vets in my area as her and I previously used the same Fear Free vet in baltimore. I am SO happy she found Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown! The office is wonderful and calm and the staff are so friendly. There’s no stressful waiting room, you are taken directly to an exam room, which is so much easier and calmer! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who lives near Hagerstown, especially if you have an anxious baby!

We've been taking our 4 pets here for about 4 years now. They seem to be pretty organized and seem to genuinely care about your pet. They also do their best to try to make time to see your pet on short notice. I would recommend this vet.

This was the first time that we have ever experienced pulling up to the vet and not going inside. When you arrive you call and let them know you're there and someone comes out for your pet. After the vet checks your pet out they bring the pet back out to you. Use in receive a phone call from the vet letting you know how the visit went and if there are any special instructions. Then you pay your bill over the phone and you go home. Very different but I think it's alright. Just different. 😊

I had to make a tough decision about my beautiful aging kitty. The staff showed care and compassion during the entire process. I went home feeling like I made the most informed choice possible. I wasn't rushed and my baby crossed the rainbow bridge in peace and comfort. I highly recommend them for your furbabies.

Reasonably priced services, and very friendly to both the animals and owners. Dr. Scrivener is a truly wonderful veterinarian! Over the last 35 years, she has treated every pet that I have owned. The staff is exceptional at what they do. They are very caring, educated, and extremely efficient group of people.

My dog ate a wooden skewer. I called to bring her in the next day and spent $588 on xrays, blood work, medications, etc. and was told they thought she would be fine in a few days. I felt like that was really a non answer. The next day she was still acting weird, wouldn’t eat much, was acting very lethargic, and then developed a large bump on her back out of nowhere. I called the next day and brought her in again (and spent another $250) for them to once again tell me she would probably be fine in a few days and that the large bump that magically appeared was completely unrelated to the skewer situation and just “bad luck and timing,” to keep an eye on it but it should go away. The next night the bump ruptured and wouldn’t stop bleeding, we had to take her to the emergency vet and that vet told us immediately without even checking that he thinks the bump on her back is the skewer poking from inside. Sure enough he was correct, the skewer had poked through her stomach through her intestines into her back muscle and she was slowly bleeding out internally. She had to have emergency surgery that was $4000. Not sure how a vet could make such a severe mistake, especially when you had two visits and plenty of information to know she was certainly not okay. I never received any sort of apology or acknowledgement that it even happened and i brought multiple dogs there and have spent tons of money there. The girl Megan was actually extremely rude to me when i called to kindly request my animals records be sent to a new vet. I know I’m just one customer and i don’t matter in the grand scheme of things but it’s unfortunate because i enjoyed going there until this. Obviously a lot of people go here and have a very positive experience, but this was my personal experience that i definitely won’t risk happening again.
