Nice little campground we enjoyed our stay yet there's not much to do if you have young children small playground and the jump pillow and jungle jim haven't been cleaned in awhile as they were full of dirt and water. The scheduled evening activities were canceled due to wind which included a bonfire and we were told we could have a fire at our site instead which we did. And the seasonal people fly down the roads at all hour's other then that it is peaceful

We love staying here in the RV! There is a nice section of spots that are nestled away in the trees, that we always choose. Activities every weekend including crafts and bingo. In addition, the rates are affordable with options for add on activities for things like mini golf, kids area, mining, etc. They only do cash for everything, so make sure you bring some!

I have been going to Merry Meadows(Morris Meadows) for well over 20 years. This place has steadily gone downhill. You will get nickeled and dined to death here.I paid $90 per night for the smallest lot with 30 amps no sewage and off season. They want $10 per kid to jump on the moon bounce. $15 for a basket of balls for the small driving range. The pond has not been stocked in several years and is overgrown. And check in with Ol’ Ethel is just as painful as going to the DMV.I will not be returning. I love the location so I have been overlooking the short comings. But I have had enough I can only hope that the campground is sold to new owners that actually care about their patrons and return it to a family fun campground that it once was.

Me, my husband and my 1 year old son absolutely love this campground!! Awesome campsite for the summer with nice shade and an amazing pool with awesome life guards. They have so many fun events scheduled every weekend. The cowboy hayride was the highlight of our trip, starting with fun music and ending with a "train robbing" including water guns to shoot! It was also so interesting learning about all the history of the land before the ride . They have great activities for kids and adults such as mini golf, rc track, live music, arcade and so much more. We always have a wonderful time. 100% recommend!!Nearby activities: Brewery near by and Pretty Boy ReservoirWalkability: Walk to all activities and eventsFood & drinks: Snack shake with great prices and tasty food and ice cream

We’ve been camping at Merry Meadows for 2 seasons now, multiple times throughout the seasons as well. We have a camper and appreciate all of the different types of spots available- close to the pool/playground, more secluded, wooded/shaded, pull-thru, buddy, etc. We love coming in the summer use the pool and splash pad. We also enjoy the other activities/events offered. We just did a cowboy hayride over Labor Day weekend and it was such a great time! It was fun to learn about the history of the campground as well before the hayride. Our kids really enjoy the bounce slides and jumping pillow, although I do wish they were opened throughout the weekend days, rather than just for 2 hours on Saturdays. We also love coming in October weekends to enjoy the Halloween activities- Spook Walk and trick-or-treating are big hits! We will continue to visit Merry Meadows Campground!

It’s the campground you ordered from wish.. looked better online than it is in reality. With the views and property it has so much potential to be great but it was a disappointing trip.Arrival: Registration is a disorganized mess and the staff does a poor job of communicating policies. Initially we were informed that every child entering the pool would be charged a fee but this was later corrected after talking in many circles with staff. Trying to get a clear answer from any of the staff there was generally a challenge. Lorraine was nice and was the only staff to give a clear answer, I will give credit where credit is due.Pool: We were turned away for bringing in a cup of water. The staff had an attitude with us and we observed them to argue with many of the other people entering and exiting. I’m sorry but this campground is not a quality enough campground to be so nit picky and rude. They want to strictly enforce no cups of water (on a hot summer day no less) yet there were numerous canopies, dog fences, and golf carts around the campground all of which are also not allowed per the rules. Selective enforcement of rules it seems… or favoritism to seasonal campers? Not sure there..Sites: The sites we had were tight, uneven, and not set up well. The fire pits in 2 out of 3 sites we had were so close to either our camper or a neighboring camper we couldn’t use them. Many of the “buddy” sites weren’t useful as buddy sites just simply ones next to another one. Walking around the property there were many sites we couldn’t understand the logic behind them.. many poorly thought out spaces with some really great spots scattered within.Activities: the kids enjoyed them while they could… they came with an additional fee and were only available for a very limited time. We came based off the activities posted online but upon arrival found a different, very limited, schedule. It’s sad to see they are so desperate that they need to nickel and dime people who are just trying to have a good weekend. We will not be returning and have already shared our poor experience with our camping community.

We stayed at the end of the season and all amenities were shut down. Our spot was large and level with a small deck and picnic table. We were across from a bath house that looked abandoned and from the state of the facilities, it had been abandoned for awhile (nasty or broken toilets, unclean showers, spider webs). There were several rvs set up for long term and some possibly in storage. We only saw a few people roaming around. There was a nice dog lot but oddly no trash can.

Will not camp here anymore. They are very greedy. No refunds, increased their prices, men’s showers need doors and curtains, plus right size curtains. Price should include at least 4 adults and not 2. New system for gate cards, they did not work at all. For the price, they Should have cable tv.,also, you cannot get a good signal.

Great place to go camping but it focuses more on RVs and slightly disregards tent guests. There are 2 bathrooms on site, so far from where we were camping. And the closest one was shut down when we were there. So we had to walk 15 minutes to get to the bathroom to find out only half of the stalls were open (out of order). There was a line waiting to use the bathroom. So it was hard, in that regard, with a kid. But plenty of RV spots throughout the site. The bounce house was also only open for 2 hours each day which we didn't know about until we walked up to see them locking it up. We were told we should've known from the schedule we got, but we didn't receive a schedule. For the price of each night, I would think the amenities would be available longer than they were.Overall, we would do it again, being more aware of the bathroom situation and having a schedule. Our site was very secluded and slightly private, which was nice. But if we wanted to be near the bathrooms, we would lose all privacy since there was no tree line in that area. It was a good first camping experience with our kid. Very quiet. Just wish there were more bathrooms available. I'm not sure I understand why there aren't. So confused about that.

This campground is honestly the worst campground I’ve ever stayed at, which is odd considering it’s one of the more expensive ones. Just scroll through some photos and reviews and you’ll understand why you should camp any where but here. Majority of their campsites I wouldn’t even call a campsite, more of a driveway you can put your camper in without any real room to hang out outside of it. Staff is rude, place is run down. Save yourself a trip and have a good camping vacation else where.

My family and myself have been camping there for a while , we do several stays per season , my kids love the place the sights are nice , my kids never seem to be bored there . The prices are reasonable and it’s close to home for us and Halloween is always a great time !

This was the only place with spots available last minute within an hour and I understand why. These are priced similar to RV sites that are updated more and have activities included. I'm not too sure why they don't have an ATM on site since they charge cash for everything but the pool. The wooded sites are private, some sites much more level then others. Wifi was horrible saturday night and kept dropping us off. The bathhouse was very dated and out of soap in the one dispenser all weekend. Toilets should be replaced to save on water and cause some of them don't flush well.If I had to give advise for the owner: Cut your rates a bit and/ or stop nickel and diming everyone for things you feel should be extras. I've never been to a RV campground that charges for the kids activities. $3 per person for a tiny mini golf course, really? Most other sites just hold your ID while you play to ensure you get the clubs back. I feel the 3 lifeguards working was excessive. Save yourself some money trust people instead of having to pay someone to check people in to the pool. Post your rules and let them bring in their water so they don't overheat. Forcing people to have to buy your water to sit at the pool is not cool.

My husband and I needed a campground within a short driving distance of a Maryland Hotel where the State Dance Convention was being held. We are dancers; all we wanted was a quiet, clean place to stay, and even WE were disappointed.First the good points: the WIFI was solid and free. There were quite a few tv stations available through antenna. Our site was spacious, private and shaded.Cons: Before we even stepped foot on the property, we felt slapped in the face with the rules at this place. As we were driving to the campground, we received an intense and angry-sounding email stating that check in time is 4:00, but if we should arrive early, there is a $10 per hour early arrival fee. The email also told us to:"Bring cash. Only cash is accepted for purchases in the Store, Snack Bar, and Hub. There is a fee for the Golf Range baskets ($5 small, $10 large, $15 jumbo: open April to December). Also, there's a fee for Mini Golf 18 holes ($3), Sluice bags ($6, $8, $11), and The Corral ($10: Inflatables, Giant Swing, Climbing Wall, and Crazy Bikes) and Hub. You may want to bring cash to avoid the $10.00 minimum and $5.00 credit card surcharge fee."We normally would have arrived at Merry Meadows at about 3:15 or 3:30, but because of this intense and angry-sounding email, we pulled over and parked for awhile at a Cracker Barrel. We arrived after 4:00, and there was a line of rigs waiting, as they also, had probably received the same angry-sounding email. At check-in, I was astonished at the length of rules and contracts I had to sign. I have never seen anything like it at any other campground, and we have camped across the country. We were not traveling with children, but we stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, over a weekend, and we did not see any of the advertised activities up and running. Not only are the family activities an extra fee, with extra charges for credit cards, but the activities are only open for short periods of time on certain days! The Pavilion, Entertainment Center and pool are all built on a hill, with the surrounding campsites on lower tiers. In order to get anywhere from your campsite, you have to walk up a steep hill. It was exhausting to do this in the summer July heat. Everywhere we walked there were rules posted - see pictures. There was even a charge for the mini golf course which was very basic and appeared to be designed for young children. As almost all other reviewers have said, the water pressure was terrible. I am a woman with short hair, and I would not have been able to wash my hair in the little dribble of water we had all weekend.I agree with the reviewer who said the owners here seem to want to be a campground for older, retired seasonal campers. This campground does not interact with its guests as if it wants or welcomes families. And, by the way, if you're going to have rules posted everywhere like saying you cannot bring food or drink into the pool area (not even a water bottle!!), perhaps you could consider using proper English on your sign - -Your sign should read: "No Food or Drink From Home or Camper Allowed PAST This Door". Your sign uses the word "passed" which is incorrect. The word pass / passed is only used as a verb, i.e., "In the road race, I passed my opponent", as opposed to, "In the road race, I ran past my opponent", or "No one is allowed past this door".Nit-picky? You bet! But a point totally in keeping with all the nit-picky rules and regulations of this place! My suggestions: re-write your "welcome" letter - it's not very welcoming. Advertise ON YOUR WEBSITE the fees for the family activities and the actual times/days they are open. MANY reviewers have said there was false advertising, or, at best, incomplete information given. Management has had MORE than enough notice that this has been an issue for guests. We would not recommend this campground.

We loved this campground! Nice people, quiet, organized! The only thing we really struggled with was the water pressure. Luckily we just filled our fresh water tank and used our own water pump which did work out. However it took close to two hours to fill our fresh water tank on less than 20psi pressure. However! The showers had great pressure in their bathhouses.Laundry was ok but not conveniently placed. We would definitely come back. The amenities and pool were fabulous. Our kids loved the campground. All around a really great experience. Lots are beautiful. If you have a treed lot it feels very private and if you don't you probably have an amazing view. Great views, trails and even a dog park. Tennis courts. It really has a TON to offer. Also not a far drive from Baltimore if you wanted to enjoy city things. Thanks Merry Meadows!

Do Not come here! First off you have to walk everywhere ,no golf carts allowed, a lot of Poison Ivy throughout the campground! No walking path, or bike path, so you’re walking around, along the poisonous plants! Kids have absolutely nothing to do, you have to supervise 13-14 year olds in the pool all day long, and a lifeguard is present on site! No drinks or Food is Allowed in that area. Game Fun Centers 10.00 to ride, but only open for 1.5 hours!🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ no wine no open music, check in is at 4, so you come early, a cluster of campers trying to come through and will park you in, bc nobody can follow directions. Totally, a disappointment of money spend, and time! Oh, bring Cash, if they charge you’re card it will have a 15.00 service fee🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ too many rules and regulations, will NEVER come back!! Water to take a shower comes in and out , and NO SHOWER rooms!! This place acts like a KOA, Expensive So called Resort 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ surprise they don’t charge to walk the campground. Permanents can have Golf Carts. Felt like a old retirement home serving people with Rules & Regulations the Lifeguard is over 68 years old 🤬👎✌🏻

Extremely disappointed. Not sure where to start. My camping was hard to access because of overgrown branches. The table was rotted and covered with moss. I had to pay a deposit for a gate card, yet the gate was broken the whole time I was there. Being a single female traveling alone, I didn’t not feel comfortable at night considering the gate was up and anyone could enter the campground. I picked my spot because of the proximity to the bathhouse. It was closed and I had to drive to the front of the camp ground to use the facilities. Needless to say, nothing seemed to be in working order, yet I paid full price. I won’t be back.

Such a shame this could be such a nice place to visit! First of all they are OVERLY crazy over rules! I completely understand the need for rules but this place goes overboard. Also they brag about all their amenities but unfortunately their amenities either open later then what stated or dont open at all. Yea they have a bounce pad, and giant swing and what not but you can only visit them for an hour and a half on Saturdays and that's after you pay 10 bucks to use them. They nickle and dime the hell out of you here! Also the bathhouses are NASTY! Won't be coming back

The pool is ridiculously strict for no reason. They took a water bottle from a child because it was open. You are not allowed open drinks so they rather you faint. What if you didn’t have more water or money to buy one or ur child liked their cup.. Seems a bit ridiculous. Also if you want to drink alcohol what does it matter you are paying for the spots etc. and you don’t get out of hand. Also if you don’t have a license or the paper form you can’t get in the pool confused you can’t get into the place without a card so once your in what are all the extra steps.. The place is in a great location and there’s some nice spots but the pool is ridiculous.

Totally disappointed. We came in in November and we were charge top dollar even though all of the amenities were closed. It took at least 10 minutes for the water to warm up in the ladies shower. My husband was showering in the men’s room and I left the water running to see if he had hot water. His was fine. The water for my shower was still cold by the time I walked back. I could barely turn around in the shower stall. This place is OLD. We were visiting friends in the area and they charged us five dollars just so our friend could come in and have lunch with us in the afternoon. Not to mention a $20 fee for a key fob to get in and out of the gates that they would refund once you drop the key fob off on the visitors way out. If you stay here expect your camping experience to be downgraded. We will not be going back.

We have been camping at Merry Meadows for a few years and we love it. (I felt it necessary to edit my review and add some things I totally wasn’t thinking about previously.) Yes, there are rules. Some a little old school, but still important to the owners. I have heard some horror stories of campers totally creating havoc in the campground which led to said rules. Maybe a review and update of policies and procedures would be beneficial to all. After all, things that were more relevant years ago may not be today and rules need not sound like they were made out of anger. Not all campers are there to party and be obnoxious, just takes one to ruin it for everyone else. The games and play stuff for kids (that parents pay extra for) are only open for a couple hours on Saturdays, which seems strange considering there could be an endless number of children in the campground wanting to play all day.We have never had any issues with the rules, and reading others reviews makes this place sound terrible. Merry Meadows prides itself on being a good old fashioned family run campground. No corporate here, which absolutely has pros and cons. You can camp in a tent or RV with many different styles of sites. But just note, the tent sites are not the typical sites that tent campers are usually looking for. They are not secluded, but the majority of them have water and electric. There are a few tent sites directly across from the pickle ball court that give more of a wooded feel, but they are small and without water and electric. Some of the rv sites layouts don’t make a lot of sense, such as placement of the fire pit.The power does flicker and go out (a lot) in storms, and our site never picks up the wifi well. We just got used to it. The campground is all on well water so keep that in mind for power outages, no water unless you filled your tank. I suggest calling and letting them know what you are looking for if it’s your first time. The first time we camped here was in a tent and now we have a permanent site in a travel trailer. We have experienced it all, even the old cabins they had which are now gone. The new cabins are nice but a bit pricey.Lorraine in the office is such a charm and we always look forward to chatting with her if she is not busy. There are a few people in the office I do not know but still never had an issues. The buildings on the premises are old and nostalgic, I love it actually! I can see where others would find it too outdated for their liking but come on, who doesn’t like the good old camping vibes!!The beautiful scenery at Merry Meadows and trails are amazing but sometimes maintained, sometimes not. Had many hikes down by Little Falls stream and made many great memories there. We look forward to many more.

This campground has the potential to be great - great location, large sites, lots of great amenities. However, the extremely strict and sheer amount of rules, lack of staffed amenities, very limited times to access amenities, and nickel and diming for many amenities really detract from the experience. I have never been to a campground with so many rules and regulations. We mostly enjoyed the golf range. Important distinction: not a driving range. They have a sign that says no drivers. The range was only open for a few hours and after we went through our first bucket of golf balls, we tried to get some more and no staff member could be found - the one staff member they had working was running another activity. Why not invest in a ball dispenser and eliminate the need for a staff member to allow more use of this amenity? At mini golf, many of the holes had ripped up turf or broken features. The course decorations looked like they had not been updated since the 60's.We ran out of water intermittently and were essentially told just to deal with it because someone damaged a water pump a few days back. Instead of giving a partial refund for the inconvenience or telling us it was being repaired, we were just told to fill up our water tanks when possible.Another thing that left me puzzled was that they say NO golf carts yet some people who are not employees have their own golf carts and drive them around? For the adults who want to have a good time, this isn't really the place for it. The camp hosts come around on golf carts at 11:01 to yell at you that it's quiet hours and say to use your inside voices. For context, we were sitting around our campfire and talking. We likely won't be back unless there's a change in management or ownership, which is a shame because it is in a great location. If you do choose to go, be prepared for lots of rules and bring cash so you can be nickeled and dimed.

I needed a place for us to camp last minute and I mean last minute.... I was so relieved Merry Meadows could help me in such quick notice. To my surprise, this is an excellent camp site to stay and we will be back. It's absolutely great for family fun!Nearby activities: Great events and such a warm family feeling.Walkability: Plenty of room to explore and take leisure walksNoteworthy details: It's like a well kept secret, great amenities

We have come here every year for Halloween for several years and each time it gets worse. They don't start quiet hours up until 11pm and no staff are around to enforce it. People are rude and disrespectful. Not to mention they charge for every single activity in the campground but it's very limited availability. The bounce castle and bikes coat $8/person and you only have 2 hours to use your pass. And the water pressure is terrible.

My family and extended family all had a great time and a great stay. We visited the campground for 3 nights in June 2020. We had a mostly shaded site for our rv at site 16 and my extended family were at sites 18-20. All fine sites and near bathrooms which is helpful with kids. The bathrooms were not updated but very clean at the sites and at the pool. Every time I called with questions and I had a lot of calls and questions, the front desk employees were very helpful and polite. We filled up with propane while we were there and met the owner. He was a very nice guy.The kids loved this place. Traffic wasn’t fast and the kids played some in the street and I felt comfortable with that. The kids also loved the playground, the pool, the bounce houses and the rec room. The facilities are a bit of a throw back but I love the simplicity. The one night they even had live music on a stage. It was so much fun.It was very family friendly and I would definitely camp there again with my family.

Chose Merry Meadows due to locale and for the family friendly experience depicted on the website. Check-in is after 4pm. We arrived at 4:45. Registration office/camp store was closing at 5pm. The only good aspect of the family friendly attractions was the swimming pool. It was clean. The mini golf course was in need of repairs, the remote car course was under reconstruction (no signs of any construction on going), the arcade was closed mid-day and would not be opened for my grand children, ages nine and six, two refreshment machines in the snack bar were broken.Good camping aspects: Large, level campsites, clean, well shaded sites.

The vibe was not it. Staff is extremely rude. I carried my 4 pound puppy inside their shop to buy a pack of buns real quick and they screamed at me. People walk in the middle of the road and don’t move out of the way when you drive by, and the roads are very narrow. It was hard locating our site, pretty confusing. Extremely overpriced for the site we got. I just felt very unwelcome and like an inconvenience to them. Will not be back.UPDATE****I FOOLISHLY tried camping here again. Supposed to get really bad weather this weekend. They said if I cancel they will not give me a refund of any kind and they will not even allow me to RESCHEDULE my reservation. They do not care at all. DO NOT CAMP HERE

We stayed here for the month of October 2019 on weekends. We had a fantastic time. Our kids went trick or treating two of the four weekends we were there and went to their really great haunted house. What we loved the most were the full time campers we met. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and will to answer any questions we had. Our kids enjoyed the playground area a lot and met lots of other kids who they played with. We stay at site A61 which was beautiful and in the woods but still close to many activities. Hope to be there full time this summer and enjoy the pool!!

Most sites are a nice size if you are lucky enough to get one. Lots of trees which provides that camping experience. Camp store is extremely under stocked. Water pressure is good in some areas and in others not so much. I have seen many improvements being made. I hope the owner continues to make improvements because this campground has lots of potential.

Nice place clean and quiet. Convenient for a quick weekend getaway wish they had a fishing hole or something. They have plenty to keep the kids busy but it'd be nice to catch a fresh fish or two to throw on the grill..

The best RV weekend getaway in the area. If you want a well organized, fun filled weekend for your children this is your place. Plenty of activities for the kids, well organized events each weekend during the season. Fun, affordable, clean! It does fill up fast, reservation process online or by phone is simple. Easy in & out with plenty to do in the local area. Love love love our weekends here!!
