Sierra is under the umbrella of HomeGoods, Marshalls and TJ MAX but I like to say it's like a Ross of the outdoors. Tons of outdoor wear, shoes and plenty of gear sprinkled in.As an avid camper, pet owner and outdoorsman I was excited that my $100 gift card for HomeGoods was available to use here instead.So when I'm not being accused of working here, (I had on a shirt that matched their logo) I enjoy trying to find great deals for our next camping trip, toys that can withstand more than an hour with my dog and survival treats for myself.So it might be a hike for you to get there but the view is worth it in the end.

Extremely helpful staff and incredible customer service. I couldn’t find the exact sunglasses I came in looking for and staff pulled out all their inventory from the back and went through it with me to find exactly what I was looking for. Will be returning anytime I pass through Frederick!

I would never have gone into this outdoor store if not for the quality shoes and great online inventory. I have problem feet and good shoe construction (arch) is important. The staff, inventory, ease of ordering and returns and entire experience over 3 years now is just great!!

**Cavet Emptor** (“let the buyer beware”) - I am sorely disappointed with an experience at the Frederick location. After purchasing an oversized 100% fine merino wool sweater, I carefully handwashed my new acquisition (as most hygienically conscious people would do) before wearing it. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to wear it because it shrunk to a size suitable for a 10-year-old child (half the original size). Naturally, I attempted to return the absurdly defective garment for refund or store credit. Upon returning to the store with receipt and all tags, I was informed by R0bin (store manager) that it is against policy to accept the return since it had been washed. Ah.... the irony. To add to my surprise and disappointment, Adri@n (Loss Prevention) asked me to move away from the register area as a first step to guide me out of the store. He indicated he was concerned because my voice was getting loud (yes, my voice does tend to get loud when I am swindled, humiliated and dismissed). Adri@n explained that Sierra is essentially a liquidator (my word) and all returned items must be resaleable. Somehow, that was supposed to assuage my frustration as if I were some sort of benefactor of a conglomerate company valued at $101.69 BILLION. Ultimately, I was left holding the bag—quite literally—and departed with an unworn, woefully shrunken sweater, a headache and significantly elevated blood pressure. For what it’s worth, within an hour of leaving Sierra, I received a full refund and profuse apology through the wisdom of someone who understands the importance of doing the right thing. Overall, it was a fiasco and waste of valuable time.

Awesome store with a large selection of outdoor clothing and shoes. I was extremely impressed with their prices on Altras! I left with 6 pairs! I will definitely be back!

If you're a bargain hunter, this place, never disappoints. Don't plan on finding an exact item there because the inventory changes constantly. However, if you're outdoorsy and you enjoy the TJ Maxx vibe, this is the place for you.Staff is surprisingly super friendly and engaging. I have no idea why they are, but it makes the experience that much nicer.

Recommended! Good prices and an always changing selection of stuff. I buy a lot of camping and outdoor related items from here. This is of the Marshalls store community so same type of business, seconds mostly but all new and very good value. It’s definitely hit or miss. I bought some great hiking shoes (asolo) last year that I love a I saved $100.

This store is an awesome place to find the top brand name outdoor clothing and gear at a fraction of the suggested retail price. You can even find fancy European brand shoes, boots, clothing and gear. Sierra not only has great customer service, but they have a great return policy that makes it possible to order online and have it shipped to the store, then return it of you're not 100% satisfied. Be sure to visit during seasonal change times for their huge closeout clearance events for even better deals.

This was the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever received, the cashier girl was beyond rude and short with me. Super disappointed. She seemed young, definitely need to work on customer service. Several sales associates walked passed and not one word was spoken, only person who said anything to me was a male employee as I was walking out.

Pretty good selection and one of the few stores where I like everything they sell. Always manage to pick up some field towels or sandalwood soap. Better tactical and hiking boots online than here, but ship to store is an option. Also used to have some awesome meditation pillows but can't seem to find them anymore. Always a great window shopping place.

Great store for many outdoor activities and apparel. Lots of small items that could be good for holiday shopping. Is not a store that specializes in any one activity/sport so a lot of the stock is great for entry level items that won't break the bank. However, if looking high end specialty items pertaining to one activity (biking, camping, rock climbing) then maybe do some research as to where you may find a larger selection of the merchandise your looking for. Overall a great store though for casual shopping.

I went looking for deals on high quality dog treats, and I found them. Such fun! I'm very picky regarding my dogs, but I found lots of Plato varieties, which the dogs and I love. If you go hunting treasure, you will surely find some here at terrific prices!

My son and I went into this store for the first time Sunday. We were looking for snow clothes for him, we weren't able to find them anywhere. We looked at all the big box stores and apparently January in Maryland isn't cold or something.. this store was sold out of their winter clothes because I'm guess everyone had to go here because again... Winter isn't a thing past Christmas, I guess. We did find a couple nice warm things for my son to wear instead of snow clothes. Growing up too fast makes it difficult to keep the kids in snow clothes since they only use them once or twice a year. Next I'll remember when we don't have snow is the time to buy snow clothes. Or anytime before Christmas, because after Christmas, it doesn't really snow... I mean not January through March, right? I guess the big box stores don't realize that most of the snow we get around here is from late January till mid March.. or they don't care about making a couple extra grand during those months.. to busy peddling chocolate to care. So thanks Sierra for already having good quality clothes at a good price that kept my son warm when he was outside during this snow storm in January.

I first became aware of this store online. Everything I ordered arrived in perfect condition. I was very pleased with the quality. I visited the Fredrick, MD store and was thrilled at the variety, quality, cleanliness, and friendliness of staff. It was a great shopping experience, great deals, and very organized and pleasant shopping. Covid-19, and safe distancing protocols in place and being observed by staff and shoppers.

This is a great place for camping equipment. Clothing and shoes are pricey. Some are actually very high considering they're either factory seconds or out of seasoned items.

Great selection of name brand athletic and outdoor clothing, shoes, and gear at a discount. Think TJ Maxx but for outdoorsy people. They also have stuff for pets. Beds, leashes, etc. Store is clean and well organized. Staff is friendly.

I recall seeing Sierra commercials a few years ago when I moved to Maryland but only checked it out for the first time yesterday. I was really impressed. The store was clean and there was a great selection of well organized clothes and gear offered at reasonable prices. In addition, the staff were very outgoing, helpful, and friendly. I was mildly disappointed that the changing rooms were closed but I understand why; merely mentioning it here for others who might be interested.
