Our go-to grocery store for inexpensive produce. Quality is consistently excellent! Most things can be found for a little cheaper across the street at Aldi, but I will be here for the produce. Please do something about the checkout belts!

When Lidl first opened, I was very enthusiastic. My enthusiasm has dimmed some. The two best things about Lidl are their fresh baked goods and some of their imported items (canned stuffed grape leaves, jams). Their prices, however, particularly for produce, have risen more than some of their local competitors, and the quality isn't always great. So, for the bakery and for unusual imported foods, it's worth stopping in.

They did not honor the Lidl Love It Guarantee when I had a return. They only offered me a refund or replacement, not both. The worker said that they had never heard of this return policy, which Lidl advertises. Don't get me wrong, this place is better than the Aldi right across the highway (sketch). However, I really don't like when a company says one thing and does another.

We really liked this new store in Frederick!It has a great bakery and produce section, and the prices are very reasonable in comparison to other discount grocery stores in the area.It’s a fairly large store with good selections of merchandise, including a section of more European items and snacks.It’s new, so it is often very busy, and I would try to avoid peak hours or weekends for now, unless you don’t mind the long checkout lines.A few things that I like about this store in comparison to their main competitor that we often shop at, Aldi…1. No “quarter for a cart”- you just take your cart and return it in the parking lot2. Better selection of name brand items. More familiar brands available3. Large produce section4. Large selection of fresh baked goods5. No self bagging (unless you want to help!)6. Usually have multiple checkouts open, instead of just one or two7. Weekly specials that are advertised online, so you can check them out on their website8. Online ordering and curbside or in store pickupJust go check it out!

One register open and no self checkout option. Store is understaffed with lots of empty cases in the bakery dept. Had to help two short old ladies get pastries due to the cases being nearly empty.

LIDL has really low prices and a great selection from quality produce, fish, and a truly terrific baked goods section where you can often pick up a fresh and still warm baguette or croissant. International food selection is terrific ranging from candies to cakes, cookies, pasta, and German sausages to mention a few. I first shopped at Lidl while in Europe and I was as impressed with the store in Germany as I am with the one in Frederick. Once you get used to the fact you have to reload your cart and bag your own groceries it’s a piece of cake. Just bear in mind, it may seem a bit bare bones of a grocery store but low overheard helps keep prices low.

Wide aisles, clean store. Lots of fresh produce and a nice selection of croissants and fresh baked bread. Very similar to Aldi's.

Cheap prices, but every time I go I have to pick through what's on the shelf to avoid getting rotten produce or mold covered bread or fruit. I bought a pack of raspberries today that I had to throw out because they were all slimey and falling apart as I grabbed them. I also saw a bag of bagels covered in moldy spots as well.This place is cheap, but expect the quality you're paying for. The employees are always super nice though

I was not impressed sadly. Thought it was on par or above Aldi. But you can think of Aldi as Walmart and Lidl as Kmart. Won't be shopping here again.

My experience was terrible. I bought several products and the meat I bought arrived in poor condition and they should verify the quality of the products before putting them on sale.

I don't like this Lidi. The checkout is the only one with one lane making the process super stressful. The dark skin, female or male idk cashier is the only nice on in there.

I don't know why this store came up on my list of reviews because I did not go in here I went to the Goodwill that just opened up out there I will never go back again it was horrible the one manager there is very rude

Beware... there is no seperation of customer groceries. So the other person checking out after you is trying to move your groceries in their bag.Frederick has changed their shopping policy similar to Montgomery county. You have to bring in your own bags. I use empty horse feed bags.

Actual angels work here. I lost my card and had to scramble for cash in my purse. The sweet cashier was so patient. The store is always clean and the staff are super helpful. A gentleman who works there saved me from messing up a recipe once because he was helping me look for an item. I love this place.

Second time shopping here and getting used to it. Parking okay, busy, spots a bit tight, angled. Have to remember my bags. Bakery is nice. Very fresh vegetables and fruit. Large selection tempting frozen foods sweet and savory. Very fresh German gingerbread Xmas cookies, marzipan, assorted cookies.

Nice store but the staff on duty was very rude and the cashier just didn't have a clue about anything. No name tag. No greeting. No thanks for shopping. Take people standing to the side of her (friends) before customers in line. She needs a lot more training.

Loved Lidl and it’s bakery items. We picked up goodies for a car trip to Niagara Falls. Very reasonably priced and tasty croissants, focaccia, donuts etc. good fruit and everything was very reasonably priced. Would love to have access to one of these in DC proper!

Lidl is awesome. The store is clean. They have yummy cookies in bakery. 🍪 They had delicious Cinnamon rolls in bakery but have not seen after Grand opening.🤷‍♀️ I was happy see gyro meat. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

I love this place! My first visit was today. I went in to get some hyacinths that had been in the weekly circular. I was thrilled to find so many national brands. And the variety of gourmet items is amazing! And the prices are great!Give them a try.

I purchased the Scallops they had on special. I realized they had not rung up correctly and the cashier called manager, who took a while to get there. The manager then proceeded to hunt down a sale circular and then disappeared, later I found out she went to the display case. I was refunded a portion of what I should have been refunded and when I questioned the cashier about it she said I'd have to talk with the manager again. After waiting for her for a bit I then walked out into the grocery store to find her. I hunted her down and she came back to the register to correct her mistake. This all took over 15 minutes to correct and there were no other customers at the registers. The refund receipts are not itemized and difficult to follow. I am curious if there is a policy at Lidl's about products that don't ring up correctly, I could not find one on line. Seems to be up to the manager. It seems there should be a corporate policy. It's bad form to charge a customer the wrong price and then refund incorrectly. Having a customer wait for so long seems wrong without some sort of compensation, an apology at least would have been nice.I was happy to see a Lidl was coming to Frederick but wonder if they will be able to establish a loyal following if they treat customers in this fashion.

My newest fave to get groceries. The store is clean, organized and well stock. I used to shop at Aldi all the time until Aldi went downhills. Aldi is now constantly short staff and out of stock. I don't bother going there much, but yay! Lidle to the rescue. Yes, it might just cost a bit more, just a bit. Honestly, I think Lidl's prices are comparable to Aldi. Lidl please keep doing what you are doing, you've got a new fan.

The prices are higher compared to its competitor Aldi. Was excited to try the bakery items but every single thing had that weird oven aftertaste. Not sure if it's because the ovens are still new or what but I had the worst aftertaste even after popping a pieces of gum, made me nauseous. Save yourself the trip, it's really not worth it honestly.

1st trip to Lidl was alright, alright, alright 👍no frills shopping at its best. Large selections & lower prices, remember: no frills, some off brands many familiar, I'll go back for the Dairy Maid Chocolate Milk alone! 😉
