It’s so hard to call and actually talk to someone here. Multiple times I’ve actually shown up in person just to get a question answered. We have been taking our dog here for a few years now and after issue after issue it seems like it will be easier to take him elsewhere even though it will be farther away. I loved that they were close but the struggle hasn’t been worth it lately.

This practice is under new management, and since the new management took over, the service has declined immensely. I've been taking my fur babies to this hospital for years, but no more. They reduced hours of operation, claiming unforseen staff shortage, yet they let go many of their staff and are making other staff members work at their sister location. So how is that unforseen?!?. My last visit there they had the tech do everything, then the doctor came in for 5 minutes. In my opinion and perception, they're more concerned with money and their sister hospital than their IHAH clients. The prices skyrocket. This truly saddens me. I've been taking my fur babies to this veterinary for many, many years. I wrote a comment on their fb page, and they deleted my comment and blocked me from their fb page. I switched to a new EMMAvet, and the quality care there is excellent.

I've been bringing my animals here for 20 years. Best in the business! Tried another Veterinarian and was not ecstatic. Indian Head Animal Hospital has all the latest equipment, 1st in the area to offer Lazer surgery, clean, welcoming, has an app, an online portal, organzied, and responsive. I won't take my furry baby anywhere else.

I've been taking my mini bernedoodle to Indian Head Animal Hospital for about a year and a half. I've always had pleasant interactions...until my most recent visit. For the first time, my dog was seen by Dr. Parkin. Never again. He was extremely condescending and wouldn't listen to me and seemed annoyed by my questions and concerns. Next visit, I will ensure that Dr. Parkin is not the vet on duty. I would suggest avoiding him to the extent you can. Otherwise, they are a solid team.

This is a review about boarding your pet at IHAH. Please do yourself a favor and take your dog elsewhere. I used this location for boarding several weeks ago and they overfed both of my dogs. One of the dogs came home with fleas but I didn’t think that it was as a result of her stay, so I gave them another shot several days ago. My dog came home with fleas again and the other dog had a scar on her nose which they attributed to her rubbing her face on the cage. Upon further inspection, it looks like to dog was bitten or something — basically, something other than the sorry excuse they gave me. I asked for them to send me pictures every day. The first few days were great but the third day the pictures were blurry (probably to hide the scar on the nose) and I didn’t receive pictures on the last day. I was so stressed during my vacation that I went to get my dogs as soon as they opened. The final straw for me is the fact I was charged for services I didn’t request. On the bill, it showed that they were administering medication to the dog that had a bleeding noise. I now wonder what the heck happened. When I called them about the charges, they didn’t even seem surprised and, the normally friendly receptionist, changed her tone to become hostile. I’m not sure what training they’ve received in these situations but, I work in customer service, and the first response should’ve been an apology. To make matters worse, instead of them giving me a refund, I was offered a credit towards other services at the hospital. For your own sanity, book another boarding facility for your pet. To make matters worse, you can’t pick up your pet on a Sunday. We are definitely not coming back here and plan to get our pet checked out at another vet. Additionally, I’m filing a formal complaint.

I came in this morning ready to put my 13 1/2 Labrador down. I did not have an appointment with the vet however Dr Willis was so kind to see us. She was not only very sweet but was willing to look at Roxy and diagnose her and take time to explain everything. One shot and a couple of meds and off we went with our sweet girl. I can’t thank you enough Dr Willis for taking the time with us. 🐾. Thank you so very much. Deanna, Jeffrey and Roxy. Hope to see Dr Willis next week for our follow up.

I love the entire staff here and I would never take my boys anywhere else. They truly care about animals and it shows. I have been taking my cat to Indian Head Animal Hospital since he was born in 2004. Rocky was born with several abnormalities and was very sickly when he was rescued. He is still with us today which I believe says everything I need to in regards to their quality of care. Recently, he ran into some health issues (he is 19 afterall) and Dr. Stacey took the time to go over all of our options in regards to his care and was incredibly patient with us. Once we came to a decision, he went into surgery and Dr. Stacey and the staff at Indian Head saved his life.In 2018, rescued another very sickly kitten found by a dumpster who was not expected to live. Once again, Dr. Stacey and the staff stepped in and provided the life saving care she needed.My two cats are family to me and I cannot thank Indian Head Animal Hospital enough for their extraordinary care when it comes to my pets.I would never take my animals to any other facility,

I have brought my 4 dogs here for the past 2 years. The vets/assistants are nice and knowledgeable. Prices are lower/comparable to most vets in the area. They’re always very fast and my dogs teeth looked amazing after their cleanings.

“PET PARENTS BEWARE, OVER PRICED”I’ve been coming here for 2 years.Today I brought my pet in for his yearly physical. In 5 mins, now all of a sudden my dog has a heart murmur, needs an X-ray and EKG, possible heart disease.. I go to check out and was charged $390 for a fecal specimen and bloodwork! Their reason inflation!Mind you I had taken my dog elsewhere for all his shots because it was to difficult to get a appointment here, thank goodness. The bill probably would have been twice or three times as much. I won’t be returning, if I could give zero stars I would! (The other Vet we visited never said anything was wrong with his heart 7/30/2022. Will get a second opinion)

I recently moved from Northern VA and based on the great reviews, I was excited to switch to Indian Head Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, my experience hasn't been awesome so far. For the first visit, I brought my dog for the anual shots. They were probably distributed, but the staff didn't put it in the system. I cought in next month, when I received notification that my dog is overdue for his shots. They gave him the shots again to be safe. Was it safe for him? I'm not sure. Other than that, the staff and the doctor seemed nice. And one thing that will probably bother me long term, is the fact that they won't provide the meds prescriptions to Chewy. I like to get the thick and flea meds from them and now I have to mail the prescription, or go pick it up from the office for little higher price.

I am very happy to have come into contact with Indianhead. Not only is it near me but the service and care of my pet was superb. I have a new puppy and the staff obviously love animals but they were very personal and thorough with the information they provided to me. I have a cat which will now also be brought to them for her care. Thank you for doing your job very well

I had been going to this hospital since a child in the early 2000's. I have not been since around 2019 until bringing my cat for the first time yesterday. It used to have a family run, small business feel that really cared for the community of pet owners they were serving. Yesterday, I realized just how much things have changed for the worse here. This place has become all about overcharging with minimal/no service provided by the vet. I will say, the front desk staff are very pleasant and the vet assistants were pleasant as well. What I am complaining about has nothing to do with them as they did their job and did it correctly and with a smile on their face. Thank you all for what you do. My main concern is the vet they have. The prices here are outrageous. They keep the prices nice and hidden and mention no prices while offering extra services. Everything felt like a scam. $20 to get nails clipped. $70 to run a fecal matter sample. $90 for a the vet to "examine" my cat when all she did was put a stethoscope on his chest for 2 seconds and folded his ears back. She was not warm or welcoming to my cat and was very aggressive and thus, my cat became aggressive and defensive. She asked the assistant to assist which he did not and called another assistant in that only assisted with the vet putting his rabies vaccine in. There was no check up. Of his abdominal area. Of his eyes. Of his nose. She had the audacity to tell me that she checked his teeth when he was hissing and they seemed fine. Obviously with the excuse of him acting defensively. You would think they could take control of the situation with a cat that wasn't even trying to scratch anyone nor did he scratch anyone, he was just hissing. His behavior did not justify a complete disregard for the service of his check up. This mediocre check would have been overlooked had the service been charged $40-50...but I was charged $90 for the "professional vet" to tell me she checked his teeth when he was hissing and they were fine. Not to mention the over charge of the vaccination itself. You can get these vaccines anywhere else at $15-20 which is how much I paid for his initial shots when I was adopting him. When she mentioned he needed another shot, it was never mentioned the price was $50. Very secretive and scam like. With the average being $15-20 everywhere else, I did not even think to ask for the price. My jaw dropped when the total was provided upon check out. Understanding that this is no fault of the front desk employees, I chose not to pick a fight with them as they were just doing their job. However, I am undergoing a dispute for a refund for at least the exam portion of my visit as I was absolutely bamboozled and scammed out of $90 and overcharged by $30 for a vaccine. I do not recommend this place. It has become a scam and a joke of a facility. They think by offering you small bottles of deer park water, it justifies these insane prices that absolutely take advantage of pet owners in the area, including myself. Go to Benfield instead.

Indian Head Animal Hospital is a very big part of why I love the community of Fort Washington. I have been a client there for 13 years and it is extremely comforting knowing quality and affordable care is close by. I have come to know the staff and the doctors well over the years. I never even feel compelled to request a specific doctor as I have always received excellent care from every member of their staff. I have a lot of pets and I have had to run to them for emergencies more than I care to remember. They always have been able to see me and their prices are very reasonable.

First time going to this animal hospital and was pleasantly surprised. If I were a dog I would want my owner to take me to this hospital. It's very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a very positive experience for me and my fur baby. Prices are reasonable as well.

I have been with Indianhead for the past 18 years. They have always been kind and professional with my fur babies and myself even through sad times. I love the docs and their staff who are always very courteous and patient. I've moved to the other side of the river and still come back with my "kids." Staying in for the past year, I feel safe having the babies taken from the car to visit the doctors. Excellent setup!

On Friday, April 23, 2021, I took our 7 year old Boxer, "Deuce," to see "Dr. Stacey [Young, DVM]," because he was lethargic, jaundiced and maybe at the end of his life. Our visit began by noticing the extremely professional and safe (COVID-19 sensitive) intake process for dropping Deuce off for treatment. Dr. Stacey called me to discuss her assessment. While the news wasn't good, she was cautiously optimistic and recommended a course of action short of euthanasia to ensure we had given our beloved pet his best opportunity for survival. I could take Deuce back home to our anxious children! Unfortunately, our excitement in bringing him home was dashed that evening when he passed away in his house. It was wonderful that he was able to die peacefully at home. Thanks to Dr. Stacey and Deuce, we had no questions or second thoughts about whether it was his time to go. 'Rest in peace,' Deuce! Thank you, Dr. Stacey for all you and Indian Head Animal Hospital did over his 7 years of life to help him be happy and productive. They were able to take in my puppy in a sudden emergency when I just showed up without ever having been there before and with no appointment. We were clearly in need and they managed to squeeze us in even when it was already crazy busy and give amazing emergency care and were so professional and responsive. My house caught on fire and we had to board our pets or a period of time. Not only did they call to update me on their status, sent pictures daily, but also let my kids visit the animals and play with them. They have many affordable options for boarding such as bathing, special food, walking services, etc. The staff are professional, extremely nice, and very helpful when filling out forms or assisting the doctor with our pets. They have a lot of patience and I look forward to seeing them again in the future.

With Covid you cannot enter, but I like their system. You call & advise you have arrived and what parking spot you are in. An employee comes out and retrieve your pet, and another calls you to gather info. When the vet sees your pet you get another call to discuss concerns. I had to take my dog as our vet is in Ohio and we are visting for an extended stay. She got an appt quite fast and everything was smooth. The doctor very informative about my concerns. If I were to move here, this place would definitely be my choice.And not just because the doctor happened to study at OSU! 😊

When I lived in the area, I would take my cat over to Indian Head for yearly check-ups and for boarding. I always found the staff to be respectful, responsible, and devoted to caring for pets. I knew that my little girl, who always had bad separation anxiety, would be well cared for while I was out of town, and that the staff would go out of their way to see to her needs. I've since moved out of the area, but I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. Thanks for all that you guys do!

We have taken our Doberman to Indian Head Vet Hospital since 1999. They have been caring and detailed. Today they have a brand new waiting area which I think looks fantastic and gives more open space. We really really love the staff there. It is a great place to take your pet or fur baby.

Very attentive and the portal was very easy to use . Made the visit that much quicker . I have been using IHAH for about 15 years and have seen them through many changes . The one thing I will say through all the changes that have occurred the level of service never faltered . I to have lost 4 animals since I have been coming here . One was a cat that I could not afford treatment for and one of the staff adopted him so he would not be euthanized ( So thankful ) the other three were dogs , One developed Lyme disease and could no longer walk the other got Cancer and the last had Kidney failure . Through out all of this , This hospital was there reaching out in whatever way they could to make it easier on my babies . I highly recommend this hospital and am thankful for all they do !
