××UPDATE×× Wise reached out and apologized ××I always shop at Weis and today I purchased a Pork Shoulder Roast that cost $16.94 at 6:04pm. I get home and open it to start dinner and the stench was horrible. Once i turned it upside down the bottom was black. So i call and call but no one answered. I drive back with the roast and receipt , I was told they can't do refunds and to grab another 1. They did not have the same size the closet cost and the biggest left cost $15. 04 so i grabbed a $1.77 weis bottle of vinegar. They made me pay for the vinegar and would not give me the difference in change. I know its not much money but come on now. Check your meat before leaving. Very disappointing.

The store overall is good and has reasonable prices but however just yesterday around 7:00pm a dark skin boy with a black hoodie was jumping around as if he was at a club. I was stunned with what I seen because I noticed he had a Weiss badge so he obviously worked there. While me and my boyfriend were checking out he came inside the building and started jumping all up in the cashiers face being a nuisance. One of them had to tell him to do that outside and not in the store, as a customer that is unacceptable behavior. I do not want to hear any excuses for his behavior, I’m definitely not interested in hearing he has a mental disorder excuse. People are starting to use that too freely to avoid facing consequences. He needs to be held accountable and if the behavior continues he needs to be fired.

The store is stocked and clean but some of the cashier's are lazy. Ever since they started the bag ban, wont bag your groceries. I come here once a week and have only had 2 cashier's that were helpful. Even when I hand them my bags I brought in, they still don't bag. Not only do I have to pay for bags now or bring my own, I have to bag my own groceries that I paid for.

If I could leave a negative star review I would. Today I walked in to get seafood, nothing super hard, just shrimp and crab clusters. And as you walk to the seafood spot, there are MULTIPLE signs saying they will steam the seafood for free (not that the price would have mattered). So I begin to tell the lady I wanted 3 pounds of snow grab clusters steamed when she rudely cuts me off to tell me "we don't steam seafood here". And I was confused. I said as I pointed "but it says right here you do?". She proceeds to get nasty saying "well it's wrong we dont". I then proceeded to communicate how I was confused again pointing at the sign. " I don't know why you're confused, we don't steam seafood here". I said nothing else and simply walked out. I then proceeded to take my business to the Perry Hall Weis location. Where the experience was a complete 180. Super nice, respectful, and helpful. Won't ever come to this one again after this.

Store workers are great just wish the prices weren't so high on certain things Pharmacy workers are superior, go above and beyond to make my family feel safe and make sure we understand the meds we take answering any and all questions we ask (even if it's the same one over again😬) with a smile☺. I'm so glad I live so close.

This has to be the nicest Weis Market we have ever been in. The store is super clean and well laid out. The aisles are big and well stocked. There is a wide variety of items and lots of hard to find items. All of the departments have fresh items. The produce is beautiful and very fresh. The store associates were all friendly, helpful and very hard working.3/24/2022 - Still stand by my statement that this is the nicest Weis Market around. The sections carried in this grocery grocery store out way a lot of other stores.

Went to Eastern Avenue location self check out (03/10/2024) and I had my own bags. I'm guessing the female worker was assigned to this area. Anyhow she asked if I was doing alright as she walked by but peeked in my bags to see if I scanned everything.I asked her why are you looking in my bags and she said she was just admiring my market bags. It was a little offensive to me because I am african american. Although this experience would be offensive to anyone.

When I go grocery shopping after working 6 days a week, I do NOT want to self checkout!!! It's ridiculous that there are 3 workers standing around talking and no registers are open!! We are not trained on your system and we do not get paid a salary from you to check ourselves out!!! Get it together!! You will lose alot of business if you haven't already!!

They do not accept Over the Counter healthy food cards at that location. What makes them different. I wish I could give them a zero

We need to stop buying fruit here. For the past month anytime we buy apples or raspberries they go bad in two days. That’s ridiculous. Are you also serious with how long the self check out TAKES!??!?!! Stop letting people come through it with 100+ items in the cart and make sure your employees are attentive!

Besides the above average cost of things which is slowly becoming every grocery store, this place is very clean and organized with polite employees.

This store is ALWAYS so clean and organized. However, the Seafood and Deli Department pick n choose on the times they close. Its suppose to be 7 and I've been there at 630 and they already had the whole deli closed!!! There prices are very high compared to others stores as well!!

AMAZING STILL!!!they still have some of the best customer service around and their products are incredible. I actually feel bad for other grocery stores because they don't hold a candle, especially in the area.geresbeck's would be the only one but I would never go there to buy regular groceries cuz they're twice as expensive as Weiss. shoppers can compete with prices but they're selection is atrocious and I wouldn't even call produce fresh.I'm extremely happy with Weiss, I just wish I could go there more often to save up the points because their reward systems pretty good too!

I have been growing increasing frustrated with Weis for quite a while now.I'm going to add my voice to those complaining about inventory. Inventory is a big problem. It's pretty rare that I can go there and get everything on my list. They are always out of stuff that other stores are well stocked on, often for multiple weeks in a row. But it seems like they are always really well stocked on Weis brand products, they're not running out of the specific items they want you to buy.It seems like they've cut down their work force a lot, and are trying to steer people toward using self check outs. In the past few years they went from a good amount of cashiers working at one time to one or two, who don't seem as well trained and efficient as they used to be, with several self check outs open instead. I once even had an employee walk up to me while I'm waiting in line with a full cart and suggest, twice, that I try a self check out. Everybody says nobody wants to work anymore, but the impression I get is that companies just don't want to pay employees anymore. And now, this week when I went to the store, I found the carts are locked together and you need a quarter to unlock one. So what happens when you don't even tend to use cash, much less carry change around with you and find the carts at a place you've shopped for several years suddenly require a quarter to unlock? It's a bit inconvenient. I guess they don't want to pay somebody to collect carts anymore either, so this is an attempt to get people to bring their own carts back?UPDATE: I bought a can of salsa con queso this week (August). I just discovered it has a July 2023 Expiration date. This is less than a month after I bought a package of hot dog rolls that had mold on them 2 days after I purchased them.2ND UPDATE: Do they just not pay anybody to take calls on the main service line anymore? Ran into yet another problem where I was charged for stamps that the cashier forgot to give me, and I can't reach anybody to confirm I can just come in and pick them up in the morning. Just rings and rings and rings. It's getting to the point where the benefits of shopping here, convenient location and coupons, are having a harder time measuring up to the growing frustration of shopping here. I really miss the Mars that used to be here.

I come to the store regularly because the produce is really good but all good things have to come to an end. The last three times I've been in the store they've called out security scans on black people. The last time it happened I had been shopping next to the guy and his daughter for about 15 minutes. They were just walking the aisles shopping, debating about which type of pasta they wanted to get for dinner. Meanwhile people from every department came out and stared them down like they were dogs.I go today they've installed the carts where you have to have a quarter to check a cart out, I don't have a quarter I guess I can't make my full shopping list, I grab a hand basket and get what I can get. I get up to the self checkout two items in my car wouldn't scan, The last time I was in here on the self checkout they had to come over four times to fix weight problems for me.There are three other markets in the area, I suggest anyone planning on going to this market to check it out steer clear and frequent one of the others.

Prices were reasonable. They had everything we needed. This was my 1st time shopping 🛍 in there. The staff were so helpful. Everything(labels) were even front faced. I am going back to do my big shopping trip and will see the price difference. This post has been updated, since the store responded to original post. Everything was clean and if you want a cool t-shirt 👕 reppin' B-More and 🦀 this is the place. I will update after my shopping trip next week! 💰 🤑 💸

Weis… it’s the only grocery store nearby & convenient for me. Otherwise it stinks. It’s produce is hit or miss, but mostly miss. Meat section is slim pickings also. It used to be called Mars & Mars had a little more selection. They are slooooow to restock. If you find something you like & others like it too then grab as much as you can cuz it’ll be awhile before it returns. That means horrible inventory control. Poor selection choice also. But you get lower prices here. Pretty close to Walmart prices for staple items. I like the self-checkouts. They have the 4 mini versions but also 2 lanes with long counters and large bagging areas. They should get additional mini carts. Seems like they have 5 total so I never get one. I do a lot of pickup online orders. Several times 1/3 of my order will come back “out of stock” but I started going in & locking for myself when the same items repeatedly showed as out of stock and found that they were in stock but whomever was doing the shopping didn’t know their own store. And never ever order produce for pickup because you will get rotten fruit. And try going to customer service to tell them, “hey, you charged me $5 for a service then couldn’t accurately fill my order,” but they won’t provide any comp to you. Even thou I had to walk in to find items claimed to be out of stock but were actually in stock, even thou I consistently get wrong items, & even thou my tangerines are rotting with mold, no comps! So why, you may ask, do I bother shopping here? Cuz they won’t build a better store on Route 43! We want a Whole Foods!

I love Weis and I shop there every Friday. Lately the stock has been low but I do not believe this is the stores fault. I think lots of products are in high demand right now and it’s just hard to stock them. Their flowers are absolutely gorgeous! My son loves the cupcake kits and also picks a flower or plant from outside about once a month. He also LOVES their sugar cookies. Everyone is always kind and helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of the employees. I have to give a special shout out to Teresa though that works in the deli/seafood department. She makes a crab dip that both my mother and I think is one of the best we’ve ever had. She also works extremely hard. The added larger self check out lanes are great and make it easier and quicker than using the smaller ones when I have a full cart. I’m very happy to have such a great store so close to home!

I used to like Weis and still shop at other stores. BUT, the store on Orville Rd recently implanted a policy where you have to insert a quarter in the chain mechanism in order to use a cart. I do not carry cash of any kind, so did the manager of this store think about customers like me? How am I supposed to shop???The store on Scott May in Parkville laughed when I called to check if the same policy was implemented there. It isnt!isn't!! Apparabtly, the manager of that store has more in the ball and us mire skilled at doing their job.And what on Earth could be rhe reason why they keep the carts chained up? The only one I can think of us a deterrent to theft. But no. Year can't it because if someone wants to steal hmthe cart, they will - quarter ir no quarter.I quit shopping at BJ's for the same asinine policy, and I will quit going to this store also and take my money somewhere else. I just hope Weis Senior Management will cut their losses and find another job for this Store Manager. Rounding up carts from the parking lot would be IDEAL!!!

Clean, friendly staff, lines move quickly. I shop in bulk at Sams once a month but go to Weis weekly to stay fully stocked up at home . My milk and egg points have been a real life saver now that prices have gone up so high! Sometimes they are not fully stocked and I can’t find what I need. It’s not a frequent occurrence but even occasionally it can be frustrating. Strange Fact: they don’t carry frozen succotash . I shop almost exclusively at Weis for my weekly grocery needs.

Stop to shop for Thanksgiving today (Monday) to avoid the rush on Wednesday. The store was busy, but the shelves were well stocked and I found everything I needed. The customers were kind and patient. The lines were long, but the cashiers were kind and efficient, getting everyone through quickly. This store was clean and well organized. Thanks to the manager and rest of the staff. It takes every employee doing their best to make the store run so smoothly. Keep up the great work.

Never had a bad experience. Only 3 complaints: 1) "freshly cut fruit" is usually not fresh, turning colors and they just leave it on the shelves....ew 2) seafood always smells like fish which is bad, doesn't smell fresh 3) doesn't carry any exotic pet supplies like hay, paper bedding etc (not a necessity in any grocery store but it's convenient when it is there and I don't have to make another stop at a pet store) 3b) I wish they would do online pharmacy....its almost 2023

This Weis store has Wonderful 👍🙂 employees, who are more than happy to help you. Shelves are always fully stocked especially when there's a sale. They have Wonderful sale prices that make it much easier to stock my pantry. When there is an item that they might not have in at the time, you can always ask about that or leave that information on their surveys, or speak to a manager. Someone will call you when that item is back on the shelf. That's impressive. They have a Great selection, especially New items that are out and I would want to try. Their produce department is always full especially produce that's in season that I enjoy. Their meat department has a Wonderful selection of meats that are very reasonably priced. The meat manager and or employees are always there to help you get the cut of meat you want if you do not see it out in the meat case. I also Love their Pharmacy.I have never been treated so well at a pharmacy. I get all my vaccinations here and I usually don't have to wait any longer than 1 hour to get any medications filled and most of the time it doesn't even take that long. Their pharmacists are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions you may have about your medication or vaccines. I love that they text you as soon as your prescription is ready. And I love their seasonal department if it's Christmas and or for example Easter they have everything at one place that's so easy to find and a lot of things that you would be looking for for that holiday. They have hard working store managers who I always see on the floor stocking merchandise or helping customers. I enjoy being able to get reward points by either doing a weekly call in survey on the phone or for items that I buy. It's just like getting money back when you're purchases.I can either use my reward points for gas discounts or for items that I normally would buy at a discount price it is very rewarding. I especially love how they let you use a buildup of reward points for the holidays for a free turkey or Ham on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter or even St Patrick's Day by getting a cheaper price for your Corn beef.Weis is the Best grocery store in Essex, Middle River, & Chase areas. 👍😊 I am really happy that they opened the store when Mars closed at the location I shop.

99% of the staff are nasty and have zero customer service skills. the produce is awful. the meat prices are higher thanother stores, even Gershbecks. They are out of stock of many items consistently even though other stores have them. They force you to buy the store brand. They arerestockingshelves constantly while customers try toshop .It is managed horribly and the staff are just meanand grumpy. They also don't take common precautions for covid.I wish I could give them a zero rating.
