We found the Ott House after a hike on a damp, chilly day. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Our server was helpful, friendly and efficient. We both had the sassy chicken salad. The greens were crisp, the chicken was done to perfection, and the honey mustard had just the right balance of sweet and tangy. We'll go back.

This is a popular place to eat in Emmittsburg, MD. It is in the center of downtown right on the main drag (Rt 140) and easy to find as at is near an intersection.It is a hang out for the faculty and kids of Mount St Marys College. You could also bump into people from the National Fire Academy. So that in itself tells you the atmosphere of the place.We went on a Saturday a couple weeks ago (mid January). It wasn't crowded at all as we were able to grab a table right away. The staff was friendly and helpful when we talked with them. If we had more time, I would have done a few games of pool. I was enamored by all the patches and coins they had on the walls. Speaking of coins, they sell there own version (see pics) which I got for my son who is overseas now.Food was good and very diverse in what they offer. We got the Crab Dip with Chips and really downed that before our main food arrived. My wife just got the Chili which she enjoyed. I got the Fried Oyster Sandwich as I haven't had one in decades - yummmm.If in Emmittsburg and hungry, you muat stop here!

Our waitress was attentive and accommodating! We appreciated her outstanding customer service!! We had a very large group. She never made us feel rushed.Wheelchair accessibility: Only in the restroom. There was no ramps for wheelchairs at the front door.

The wait staff was excellent. The beer on tap was good. Prices are reasonable. It feels like a local pub. Would give it higher marks if the music was better. I'm not a fan of country and dad rock.

Great atmosphere!! They had different sports showing on many TV's, a quieter room with tables by a fireplace if you prefer, and even several tables in the back by the electronic darts and pool tables if you wanted to sit near them and watch family or friends play or even join in! There was also some kids dancing in the back by the darts and some up front watching the big screen TV with basketball on, great environment. Everything we ate was delicious from crab soups, French onion soup, Buffalo wings to cheese steak, pizza and just wonderful crab cakes. All the food came out pretty quickly too. I do have to say we were Amazed by our waitress who was Awesome!! Not only did she keep coming over and asking if we needed anything and refilling our drinks, but I think she was 1 of only 2 waitresses on shift for all of the tables. We had a very enjoyable time here at Ott House and cannot wait to come back!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and family friendly. Great atmosphere for everyone!!

First time visit to this bar & restaurant in Emmitsburg MD after having spent the morning shopping at Emmitsburg Antiques Mall. Sat at the bar and shared chicken wings with a cajun rub and a saucy chicken sandwich. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I had a couple of IPAs and my wife had a Yuingling Lager that went well with food. They were gearing up for a crowd following the graduation at Marymount University this afternoon. Will definitely visit again when we are down that way. Recommended!Parking: If you want to park near the Ott House, paid street parking is the way to go. However, if you don't mind a short walk, there's free parking in the side streets.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible

Spent a day with my wife going to antique malls. Decided to try this place since we were in town. My wife was totally disappointed!! The chicken strips was so very tasteless! I tried it as well. My club sandwich was fine. But, the chicken was like eating paper mâché. A fun day together ended up with a bad taste!! Typically, I do not leave reviews, but I absolutely had to share this experience.....

Great food, drink, atmosphere, wait staff, spacious and they have billards/pool!! Lovely combo!! Our bar waitress was on point and quite the conversationist!! A very enjoyable meal. I highly recommend the broiled crab cakes 😋. See ya again real soon Ott House.

This review is for the restaurant. Meh. The service was good. Our waitress was good. The food was typical pre frozen food. Burgers are made from frozen patties and served with cheap bagged chips. The frozen fries have no seasoning and ours were a little undercooked. The food was bland. Other types of food on the menu are items like pizza, patty melts, tuna salad, and fried foods.

First time at Ott House and really enjoyed it. They were a bit slow, but there was a sign saying they were short staffed so it was something everyone was aware of from the beginning and you can't fault them for that. The ott's mild wings were a bit sweeter than I prefer but the wings were cooked great. The crab fries were fantastic. The atmosphere is great and it's fun to try to find fire patches on the wall from your city/state.

Great, small town restaurant! Good food, great service, and they are all very friendly. They do get busy, so plan ahead a little on a weekend night. They have a darts, music, and several pool tables to entertain yourself with. The beer selection is awesome, and it was always cold. The wings.....NOT breaded! That's a bonus!!!! they have some famous, mild wing sauce, but that seemed more like a sweet and sour sauce or something. Still, it was good. Wings were crispy! Had the steak, it was a little overcooked, but delicious with a loaded baked potato. The baked was fully cooked. If you're at the NFA down the road, hit this up to an alternative to bland caf food there!

Went after my EMI graduation!!! Service was well...I love the atmosphere and my crab cake sandwich was delish! The waffle fries was on par and my classmates buffalo wings(not pictured) were on point..Sauce was really good. Will definitely return!!

Great pub food. Wonderful staff. Highly recommend. The wings are nice and crispy. The Ott mild sauce is good, but a little sweet/sticky. Not typical mild buffalo wing sauce.

The crab dip was excellent. Took the recommendation of the owner that day, who said the bread was better; it didn't disappoint.Bought a shirt after getting caught in an expected thunderstorm. Lots of sizes and colors to choose from.

We stopped in late on a Sunday night--8:30 I think, looking for a light meal. The food was fabulous!! We split the crab dip with little toasted bread slices and a half pound of steamed shrimp. We moved away from Maryland a few years ago and were just driving through this time, and this was like coming home. We've never had better crab dip-- or steamed shrimp--which were big and so tender and perfectly seasoned with Old Bay. The waitress even left a shaker of Old Bay for us. She was super friendly and helpful. We're so glad we stopped here, and will try to return on our next trip south. Delicious!! It was the highlight of our drive home!

Exceptional shrimp salad sandwich with large meaty shrimp and just the right amount of seasoning and mayonnaise. While the outside looks old-fashioned, inside is a great family restaurant.

Classic hometown bar with a nostalgic feel and THE historic firemans watering hole close to the training center. Fond memories of late night live music and good times with friends…..Long live the Ott!Parking: Parking options are interesting since it’s at the town intersection- parallel parking, some spaces at the square and possibly a few more spaces around back but definitely arrive early for the potential search
