I adopted Daisy in 2015. They told me she had been returned four times. I was heartbroken for her. She has turned out to be the best dog. She is still here living her best life. Thank you Talbot Humane for never giving up on her.

Decided it was time to get a pet (always been a cat lover). I visited the Talbot Humane Society to see my options. I was greeted by friendly, helpful staff. There were a wide variety of kittens/cats. I was able to visit with the kitten of my choice. The staff answered questions and provided some helpful tips. The application process was easy and fairly quick. I found my pet and adoption was fast and informative. Meet Charlie.

The receptionist was plain out and out rude. Usually I try to only ask questions relative to my animal, but when you're looked at like how many times am I getting this same question, it takes joy out of giving donations and buying items to help give them money.

I'll explain it three stars. The women running this shelter are very concerned about the animals. It is a no-kill shelter. I stopped in to verify that and see about donating to their shelter. My son is into animal rescue and I've had rescue dogs last 30 years. I am now 68 too old to get another dog but feel obligated to donate. Now they did have a large area and several cats. They said the dogs were around back. I did not see the dogs. These people need a larger space with an exercise yard. If they have a fundraiser for that I would contribute to that too and give them five stars. It's not their fault that you're working with what they have. God bless the people working here and the animals.

Talbot Humane did a fantastic job of matching us with a dog that fit beautifully into our family. The application process moved swiftly and we were able to take our new family member home in just a few days. I really appreciated the opportunity to bring our current pets to the shelter to meet our new dog so we could see how they'd all interact before we brought her home.

Worst experience I have ever had. We were approved for a puppy. They call us in to meet the puppy we fell in love and then they told us we couldn’t have the puppy because we have a child. I feel very judged and disrespected.

This was the best place ever! I adopted a kitten/ cat named Hendrix (renamed Salem). He looks like a black panther now. The people there was awesome and so friendly. When we walked in there was no smell! Yes, they had animals everywhere. Even as soon as you walked in there was cages. If we ever want to get another pet of any kind, that's where I'm going. The adoption manager had so much helpful and had a lot of helpful information. Especially, about the pull break collar come to find out my husband and I couldn't pull Salems collar open as we both took a side and pulled, it never came apart. It's off his neck. Not safe for him. Thank you for everything.

Staff is very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Between me and my friend, we have got three fur babies from them. Kudos to the volunteers as well. That made it possible for me to visit a kitty cat at Petsmart.

Staff and volunteers were very understanding, knowledgeable and reassuring with all of my questions/worrying about getting our 2 year old cat spade. The whole process was easy and done properly. I appreciate how they treated our cat and gave us plenty of aftercare instructions before going home.

Have adopted 4 kittens from them over the past 10 years. They always care and want to make sure the babies go to the right home and of course, our home is PURRfect for the ones we have gotten.

Talbot Humane is an awesome place. I just got my puppy a microchip there for only $10. (maybe a $100at the vet.).They help with grants for emergencies and end of life cremations. It's run and staffed graciously & meticulously.

I wanted to adopt a cat and instead I got background check with zero call backs. I followed everything they asked me to do. Yet no callbacks to meet the animal I wanted to adopt. I would have more luck buying kitten from a private seller or getting a stray off the street then be able to recuse at cat from here. That pretty pathetic since this place is supposed to help animals be adopted. These animals are doomed.

A+ A+ A+ We adopted Vincent, an all-black kitten, from here. Sandy assisted us throughout the process with professionalism, wonderful people skills, and understanding. She's a Gem!!!The facility is very clean and well organized. Truthfully, the Talbot Humane Society is the best we've seen anywhere around; that includes NJ, DE, & MD.What more can we say? .................Oh yeah, did I mention A+ ? LOL

So, my crazy ex abandoned her reptiles at my house when she knew I wasn't home. I had them taken care of, but she called Talbott Humane and said I neglected them. This was about 6 hours after I left home.I received a call from Valentine Gonzalez who said I had to meet him by 830 the next morning or face jail time. I had just driven 6 hours and was in no way capable of promising that. He got very irate with me.I doubt a friend that could meet him. Val suggested I fill out an affidavit to release the animals to him. He told me that he can only take the reptiles and not the enclosures because that was community property. He also said he had to take them to Talbot Humane and have them checked by a vet and the crazy cold pick them up for 45 bucks apiece.Well, when I get home, my entire basement is empty. I learned from my friend that the crazys ex husband brought a u haul to my home. Valentine loaded it up with my stuff and took it all right to the crazy's house. Also, no note..I tried calling, and as soon as I said my name he hung up. I called back and they said he hadn't come back from lunch. They put Pat on the phone and she proceeded to yell at me and said it's between "me and that girl". She then said she would not talk on the phone and I had to come in. Well, when I go in there's never anymore there to talk to.Please, everyone... DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSE. Apparently felony theft is encouraged there.

Excellent staff. The animals are clearly well cared for and loved. While they strive to find them all forever homes, they are very thorough with their application process. If you're looking for a companion, this place has a lot to offer.

The service at this shelter is great, Sandy is the best! They take time to listen to your needs and find the pet that's the right fit. If you are looking for that special pet to add to the family, I recommend this place.

We live about 4 hours away, so called about some guinea pigs they had listed on petfinder. We mentioned we had a long drive and exactly why we were coming. When we arrived we were told they were not adoptable till the end of the month for medical reasons. Wasted our time and gas when they should have told us the pets we were interested in were unavailable over the phone.

The never call you back to adopt a pet and when you call back multiple times they give you a the run around do not I would never donate to a fake adoption agency that takes other people's lost and in waited pets and keep them but take your donations freely

Zero stars, horrible organization! Talbot had reserved a cat for me that I had seen in a FB post. Following is a message I sent Talbot via FB Messenger as well as email, and posted to their page. They have since blocked their FB Messenger, deleted this from their FB page, all while not responding to my emails to rectify the situation."UPDATE : I was the adopter mentioned above, placing an application for this specific kitty since she looked so much like my beloved Tortie that had passed almost 4 months ago, while this cat was not yet listed on their website and still in quarantine. Otherwise I was not yet planning on adopting just yet, but when I did I had intended on an older cat to provide a happy remainder of their life, as well as a companion kitten for enrichment. I expressed all of this to the Adoption Coordinator. After being told the Bengal mix would only be adopted out to someone who was knowledgeable about the breed, I did hours of research and found that my Tortie had prepared me well, as she also had similar characteristics and wanted a raw meat diet primarily. I emailed them each week day inquiring about the Bengals' well-being in the facility and that I would dash out to meet her, and together, choose a fur-buddy for her once I got the word from them. Yesterday I received an email (6days later!!!) that my application had not yet been processed, that the Bengal had been adopted out to a random person who already had an approved application (who, mind you, was clearly already planning on adopting and would have chosen another kitty), and that Talbot still had many other cat to choose from if I still wanted my application processed! What a tragedy! Not only was I going to adopt 2, learning of the exotic breed I was going to make a healthy donation. So Talbot was only able to, in this instance, adopt out 1 rather than 3 cats. Absolute ineptitude and irresponsibility, I am livid!"I do not recommend this organization to any of you.
