Oh wow, all of Nick's reviews are 5 stars and when you contact him, it's easy to see why. I called Nick when I was looking on google for someone to make an axe as a gift. He has been above and beyond in quality, professionalism, and timeliness in replies. I bought an axe head off of ebay and had it shipped to him. It was looking pretty terrible, but he fixed it up, and built a beautiful handle to go with it and a sheath. He could have charged me more, I'm so happy with the final product and the experience I had with him, all while being a nation away. He kept me up-to-date on all progress with photos via email. All around excellence, A++, 100%.

I was cheated. Nick gave me a price for some cutting, I wrote a check, he cut 196/400 pieces and said that was it. When I tried to sort it out, he ghosted me. The whole deal was set up by text so I have his communications. I'm glad I found out he was dishonest before I did any serious business there.28 December. So you story is now that it was time pressure. Good to know. I had no info when you ignored my repeatedmessages and calls. You have had five months to catch up. Will you be cutting the rest my order or returning my money?

I purchased 4 cherry axe wedges off the website and they sent me 4 more for free! Thank you so much! Will definitely do business with them again. Fast shipping. My one and only request would be to include tracking numbers in the "order completed" emails. I assume you can track if you have an account on the website, but I was just checking out as guest.

Mr. Thrane has refurbished two axe heads and fitted each with hand made custom handles. He has also made me a custom chopping board.He does amazing work and His customer service is as good as it gets. He e kept me completely informed throughout the process and made it a fun buying experience!

As a knife maker and fellow leather worker I can attest to Nick's attention to detail. Also, keep in mind this man fashions these tool handles from selecting the standing timber, felling, air drying and then to final shaping. I know of no one else who performs this well start to finish. His metal work is superb by removing what is necessary for excellent restoration work and leaving plenty of steel for the work intended. If you are looking for an axe or hatchet with superb fit and finish....there is none better.

Thrane Axe and Saw co rocks! Nick hand crafted a laminated hammer handle for one of my forging hammers and it is fantastic I have also ordered a few walnut wedges from him and they are the best looking axe wedges I have ever seen. I have seen his axe restorations in person as well as the leather work and both are amazing!

Awesome work on a restoring a Craftsman hatchet. The handle is incredibly comfortable in hand the blade edge is dressed perfectly. I am writing this literally after using it outside chamfering the edges of my new anvil stump. I highly recommend Nicks work.
