I visited the shelter to adopt my cat in 2018. He's such a happy, healthy, and playful baby! My family is really happy with him and we're very happy with all of the support we have received. We even had one of our beloved dragon lizards incinerated here because we didn't know what to do. The staff is amazing and I love the convenience of the location.

This place is a rip off! All about money and very misleading. This time last year, I thought I would do something 2 aid my mental health illnesses and I was lied 2 and played on. They lied about the dogs info and when I returned the animal LESS than 24hrs, the info these crooks were exact about, was a no refund policy, but NO WHERE in the lobby is that listed. The employee just watched my excitement, listened 2 why I was there and not once pointed out that if it doesn't work out, u won't be refunded even if we lie 2 u. They are liars and scammers! Told me the dog was 1 when in all reality the dog was over 2....3yrs old. Not house broken. Spoke with Faith in regards 2 the matter and she was just as shameful in her dealings. The information given 2 us by them doesn't have 2 be accurate. U get what u get and that's the chance u take is basically how she handled me. Disgusting!

I adopted two adorable cats with them ! Bestttt shelter ever ! Very kid friendly as a mum of two young children It was very important for me to have my children meet the cat that we wanna adopt to make sure that they also love the pet so we don’t have any future problems. Montgomery county animals services and shelter are very well organized staff is very open to help you also understand your needs. I was able to get my pets rabies shot for free which is amazing

Got a new family member today. We named him Smokey. He's a very sweet boy, and I encourage others to adopt black cats. The adoption process was so smooth. The people working at the front desk appeared to be solemn, but the person helping us adopt Smokey was very helpful. We visited the dogs to pass the time, and one seemed very stressed and was panting heavily (not due to heat). Unfortunately, we didn't have room for another dog.

Staff was friendly and let us look at their dogs which all seemed to be well taken care of.We also popped into the small mammals section and took a look at the bunnies and guinea pigs and they were super informative. The cat area seemed to have a distinctive odor to it (especially the kittens section) I wonder if they could do with a better ventilation system to clear the air. But I get it, a bunch of cats in one room is bound to smell.Come here and find your lifetime companion! There were a lot of wonderful animals ♥️

I have personally adopted many animals from them (2 rabbits and as of 2 days ago a dog) I love the professionalism and how they answer any questions you may have as well as making sure you have all tools needed to care for your pet ! Thanks again !!!

The staff here are great! Everyone was helpful throughout the adoption process. You can tell the staff/volunteers truly care about all the animals in the facility. My family and I are so thankful and couldn't be happier with our newest addition to the family.

We had a great experience doing a pet adoption recently. The staff was very friendly, and it was pretty clean and orderly facility. We got a dog, and they did a good job with getting to know the dogs from a health and psychology stand point. Are they good with kids, other dogs etc. She has all her shots, was spayed, microchipped and given a clean bill of health, and its all well documented. This made the process pretty ease to narrow the choices down and make things pretty efficient overall. We would do it again when we want to take on a other pet.

adopted a cat from here as a first time cat-owner and my adoption counselor was very kind and informative. i wish i could remember her name.i was given me lots of papers providing tips for care, behavior expectations, things to look out for, resources for financial issues, and even a free first exam flyer! which is especially helpful since they require your pet to be examined within 7 days after the adoption lol.the shelter was very clean compared to others, the cats looked well taken care of, and the process was super simple.

Very well run facility . We visit often to bring donations and look at the cats. Never adopted from here but would consider adopting an older cat in the future.

Sad to see Kuumba go but grateful for the welcoming committee she got. I know they'll take good care of her before she finds her forever home 💜

They do a great job everyday. They even offer resources to help struggling families. But I was disappointed when I waited for help about ten feet from the family ahead of me who were of similar ethnicity. I saw that there was an associate who did not currently have customers at her station. When another employee asked if I needed help, the associate came up to the window and said she thought I was part of the family ten feet in front of me. We never spoke nor did I leave the line when they were finished so I am unsure why that mistake happened. It lead to longer wait times to get services. When I tried to complain about the incident the associate told me I was not allowed to do so and wouldn't let me continue. She then followed me out to the parking lot. Disappointing that the government still has racial insensitivity and in a city which is the most diverse in the nation. Not much has changed from 30 years ago when this used to happen on a daily basis. Now it happens on a weekly basis, I don't see that glacial pace as promising.

The place was quite busy, and they were a little understaffed, but the adoption counselor took her time with us to make sure we found the perfect fit for our family!

This was a very nice animal adoption and humane society. They do get many donations. They do not require a donation from Veterans. They do have space for more kittens. The kittens are well feed and have plenty of space. The kittens have their own individual cage. The staff is very skilled at taking care of the kittens. The kittens come with sterilization and a microchip. The kitten was clean.

After recent experiences with this shelter, I cannot reccomended them! Please do not surrender your pets here. We had a dog who had a few behavioral issues and just was not adapting to city living. Due to this, we trusted the shelter to find him a more suitable home. Most of the staff here are very cold and callous, and stated the dog would most likely be euthanized. No animal should be killed because you all can't find them a home. That is just cruel and inhumane!

We adopted our sweet boy Gandalf from this shelter and the staff were so kind and supportive. The cat volunteers are especially nice and helpful. There's free pet food for people in need and we always make a point to donate blankets and extra food when we can.

We would like to give a shout out and big thank you to Officer Ricketts for coming to our rescue last night! We had a feral cat trapped in our basement, and had tried to get him out for hours to no avail. She came late at night and managed to him out in a safe and humane way. We can't thank her enough for her perseverance and expertise!

We got there when the place opened at noon, and were leaving at 2. There's an online questionairre that you can fill out beforehand that helps speed up the process, otherwise you have to scan a QR code at the desk and fill it out to get your info. into the system. It's a clean, apparently well run shelter. They were having everyone wear gloves and change them between kitties because there's a respiratory infection viral thing going on.If you live in MoCo, then you can register on site and get all the paperwork taken care of, as well as a coupon for a free vet visit the week following your adoption that lists a couple dozen vets in the area. They'll even let you go in to the rooms and see the cats/kittens/dogs/whatnot any time, but you can only actively adopt when you can have an adoption counsellor with you, and they're transitioning away from having appointments to being all walk-ins.

I had an amazing and quick experience here yesterday! The facility is very clean and appears nicely organized, it is appointment only which I thought was great because I got to look at the animals alone. I got an appointment the day after they sent me the scheduling link, I was originally scheduled for two weeks out but I just kept refreshing the reschedule page. The adoption process is so much easier here than any other shelter which I appreciate since I was desperate to get an ESA. My adoption counselor was very helpful and kind and she answered all the questions I had.My new dog was extremely frightened and nervous, but he's settling into his new home nicely!

Having a difficult time getting my service animals home due to lack of communication on their part and two of my service animals might have been euthanized while I was in the hospital I'm hoping that all my service animals are ok but I will get my lawyer involved if necessary and all this happened while my dad was dying and then passed away. He loved me and my animals. I have even donated and offered to work with this shelter,I have a broad history working with and caring for animals. Hope things get better.

I lost my cat back in January and wanted to check the shelter and adoption center to see if my cat was there. Whilst at the Office this bald man gave me the worst service. Not only did he give me no help but he made me feel somehow worse about my situation. He was bald and working with a young lady at the time. She on the other hand was polite and showed empathy. The bald man on the other hand had no feelings inside of his bald head. Im writing this nearly a year later, after reminiscing on photos of my lost cat, and i still remember the bald man. ela was my cats name, she was a sweet cat. Although unfortunately she was declawed when i adopted her, she would never hurt a soul.

The adoption counselors are amazing. So patient and knowledgeable and helpful. My counselor made the experience much better and easier. I LOVE the newest member of my family. She adjusted SO quickly and shes made herself completely at home. Thank you for having a great facility and team. Much love for your cause and I will be recommending to many people!

It was a quick and painless process to get my bundle of joy. The first time I arrived, I hadn't known it was by appointment only to meet the pets, so I walked around admiring the cats. After some bit I made it into the kitten room and fell in love with a sweet kitty named Sheba.I was informed to make an appointment via their website to adopt her and I got lucky enough that a spot opened up within the week. That day was light paperwork and about 30 minutes later I was leaving with sweet Sweeney. (Sheba)@theycallmesweeney

very organized. I love taking my Gatica there, the staff is very welcoming, especially Andrea, the first visit I do not charge for teaching me how to cut my Gatica's nails, you pay for the visit and the vaccinations. the staff is responsive.

They make you feel out a form that lasts forever and ever and ever. Then they tell you to go away and come back later. I saw two kittens that I would have adopted on the spot and they wouldn't let me do it

Hopefully this is a no kill shelter. And when Euth is necessary due to illness with no hope for recovery, Do not use Gas or Decompression Chamber. Only a Qualified Vet, not staff. These barbaric and torturous methods of what is called Euthanasia are cruel and heartless causing unnecessary pain and suffering to a poor animal who has done nothing to deserve such treatment. Hopefully there will be a law passed forbidding the use of The Gas Chamber and Decompression.

Please think about adopting some of their pets. It's sad watching them in their cages. I am looking to adopt in a year or so.
