Came to this little locals spot for several meals during our stay in Deale including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My husband and I enjoyed everything we ate. We really enjoyed sitting on the back boardwalk area. The ducks, Kenny and Dolly that visit daily were too cute. The inside of the restaurant had a very chill vibe with everyone watching football and enjoying the bar. My husband had fish and chips twice and I enjoyed my salad and wrap. The bread pudding was our favorite dessert. Our serevers were all nice. We definitely enjoyed our experience here and would come back!

For a $60 meal, we got two steak and cheeses (that weren’t correct, and weak, at best, and lacking the ingredients we asked for), and not even a dozen wings, that were dry and were overbaked, then doused with heavy seasoning. Onion rings were cold and mushy. Called in the order at 3:25. Was told a 35 min wait. At 4:30, it still wasn’t ready, until I went outside and called for a status update, and the lady said yes, it was there to be picked up. Our food had been sitting there for over 10 mins. Order was paid for in cash, and wasn’t even given the correct amount of change. Given that this is the second chance I’ve given them, I 1000% would NOT recommend them for food.

A Disappointing ExperienceOur family planned a special Father's Day breakfast at Happy Harbor but, unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. Although the staff were polite, the service was incredibly slow. It took us between 30-45 minutes just to receive our drinks, and almost the entirety of lunch to receive a second round.The most concerning part was the two-and-a-half-hour wait for breakfast. This was particularly problematic as one of our family members is diabetic and hadn't anticipated such a long delay. She ended up feeling unwell due to low blood sugar caused by the unexpected wait.We understand that restaurants can be busy on special occasions, but this experience has made us reconsider future visits. We hope our feedback is taken seriously as these delays can have serious health implications for customers with specific dietary needs.Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and recommend future diners to prepare for long wait times, especially those with dietary restrictions.

On New Year's Day 2023 American Legion Riders from Post 82, La Plata, MD took our annual "Polar Bear Ride". This year's ride took us to Deale and Happy Harbor Restaurant. We had called ahead with an estimate of 15 for a late lunch but unseasonably warm, dry weather brought a stronger than usual turnout of 22 people. The staff at HHR didn't bat an eye but led us to our tables on the porch. The two ladies who served is were super friendly and amazingly efficient. It didn't faze them that we asked to pay seperate checks, seemed like just another day for them. They got our drinks out to us quickly. I was particularly impressed that they remembered who ordered what made sure we all got the correct drink.Just like the drinks, our food orders went in and came out quickly and each to right person. Given that there were other customers in the restaurant and that there were only two cooks in the kitchen, I'd say the food came out exceptionally fast. Everyone enjoyed their meals!Thanks to the staff at Happy Harbor and God's blessing of great weather, our group had a fantastic day riding and fellowshipping. I will definitely be back and will bring friends to share the experience.

Food was super disappointing.. Our waitress was great but the other staff was not so good. The one that brought our food like appetizers didn’t give us plates so we were trying to share nachos on napkins until our regular waitress came back to check on us. The ultimate grilled cheese was lacking the cheese. When you think ultimate you think cheese over load not a slice of cheese. The bbq nachos was good. The burger was asked for medium but was cooked to well. They charge a lot for extras. So beware of what meals has sides included on the kids menu. The area we sat in was nice until a boat returned and the fumes from the exhaust came straight in. So I probably wouldn’t go back.

I've been going to Happy Harbor for a good little while I have loved their food up until this point me and my friends went there and got carry out and one of my friends got deathly sick but that would not be the problem at Happy Harbor the problem would be management the manager name Jen /bartender sat there and try to say that my friend had the flu and it couldn't have been their establishment sat there was rude to me and talked to me absolutely in a disgusting way all I wanted to do was make sure that somebody else didn't get sick and the only thing she could sit there and say was that I was trying to get something out of the restaurant if the owner of this restaurant reads this please reach out to me through this thread I just can't believe I was talked to this way after sitting there spending my hard earned money there for as long as I have

Great local joint! If your looking for a local place with good food this is place to put on your list. Staff is efficient and friendly. Bathrooms are older with a funny smell, clean and does the job.

Worst breakfast we ever had. Waited over half an hour for the waitress, another 40' for the order to come out and everything was cold and terrible. Until they go back to working with more staff, I would not recommend this restaurant! Update: it's been a couple of hours since "breakfast", have been throwing up and I feel sick like a dog 😟

Waited at a table for 25 minutes before someone asked if we’ve been waited on, said no. Then it was an additional 20 minutes before someone took our order, then she came back and told us they didn’t have pasta for the one order, and we literally waited 40 minutes for appetizers. They weren’t very busy but you would have thought they were over crowded times 3. Never again, sadly we choose this restaurant over a place that was of better service and food, just to try it out for a first time.

First night in on vacation my husband found this place—it was pretty darn good! We sat outside over the water (quite striking during the day/evening I’m sure, but we were there late). There’s an outdoor bar and string lights, we were right out by sleepy boats and overall it was quite serene while we were there. Parking mostly across the street from what we found, but seeing as how it isn’t a busy street there really wasn’t an issue with crossing. Food was good—my husband got the fried oyster basket with fries and green beans; I got the crab cake with fries and pasta salad. Fries were absolutely fantastic, crispy and hot. Crab cake was surprising in texture (not like “lump” crab like I had imagined, more like a creamy crab salad, deep fried in a super flavorful breading: unexpected but no less delicious! I got a side of the tartar sauce which brought a really nice brightness to a very rich dish. The fried oysters were super crispy and spiced really well.Menu had a wide variety of options, from steamed crab legs with butter to burgers and even soups, so there really is something for everyone.Our server, Jen, was so super sweet and kind—stuff came out fast, which was awesome because we were hungry! My husband got a few of their drinks—he really liked one (which I don’t remember the name of) but only somewhat cared for a pineapple one called the “Tipsy Mermaid”. To each their own! Overall, really great experience.Photo of some of the outdoor area—again, it was dark, so not a whole lot to see!
