Our little Yorki-Poo-Chi loves staying at Dogwood Acres. He hasn't mentioned anything he'd like to see changed. The staff are all super friendly, and the rates are very reasonable for what he receives.

Dogwood Acres came recommended by some friends of ours who used to run their own kennel, so I figured it had to be a decent place to leave our dog for the weekend… Well I’m happy to report our friends gave us good advice, since we had a very positive experience at Dogwood Acres! Our 9-year old golden doodle, Duncan, boarded there for the first time this past weekend. All of the staff were uber friendly and attentive to the needs of both dog and human during Duncan's stay. And as any pet owner can attest, you can tell a lot about the way your pet was treated by how they behave when they return home. Duncan was 100% himself after I picked him up (even down to his #2s!), and settled right back in at home, just like he hadn’t been away. Many thanks to the staff at Dogwood Acres for taking such good care of our dear Duncan.

Around 2017 was the first time we used Dogwood Acres(Davidsonville). We took our 2 cats for a little over a week long boarding. Katniss and Torie. Torrie was still a kitten. The staff were great with my kitties. I figured they would be since Torie was still a kitten....lol. Seriously though, I loved the updates about how they were doing while we were so far away. I also appreciated the tour of the cat area so I could see where they would be.This year (2023) we used the Stevensville location for our new puppy when a family member passed. Davidsonville didn't have any openings and it was really short notice. They fit us in within 48 hours. The staff was absolutely incredible. Super sweet, patient because Dude (yes, that's our pups name...lol) wasn't to sure about the strange people trying to take him away from me. I had to extend his visit once we were able to schedule the funeral, and one more time when I realized my mom needed me a little longer. We didn't pack enough food for the second extension, but they offered their food. Huge relief.When we got there to pick him up he acted like he didn't want to leave. It made my heart happy since I had just gone through such a tough time, and I felt guilty for extending his time.I've used them twice since then and as soon as he sees where we are he gets excited.We recently had a pet event at my work and Dogwood Acres donated items to put in our "doggy bags" for customers. I made sure to tell everyone that had never heard of them about my experience.Thank you so much for making my pup's stay there a good one. I will always recommend you guys.

A week long retreat cost me $1000 for 2 dogs. My dogs appeared to have had a great time and the staff legit seemed to love animals. The facility is nice and cozy, I liked the fact that they have web cams up so you can check in on the 4 legged family members. They lost a star when my 2 dogs came home with kennel cough and diarrhea however. That was another fun vet bill!

This review is not related to the services that they offer to pets but regarding an ongoing issue that has not yet been resolved with me. I booked an event for my dog and it was scheduled for 07/23/2022. I paid a deposit to complete the reservation. Unfortunately I was unable to keep that reservation and I called the business on 07/20/2022 to cancel the event. It has been over 1 year and I have not received my deposit back. I attempted to contact the business regarding the deposit and I have sent numerous emails trying to make contact and most recently a follow up email was sent on 07/14/2023 and I did not receive a response back from the business. I strongly dislike having to take the time out of my day to write a negative review and as another attempt to make contact. Will this be answered or corrected? I’m doubtful. We’re almost in 2024.

I have been using Dogwood Acres for years now...my new GSD ~ Dakota ~ is a frequent-guest there! Absolutely love this place and both my GSDs get so excited as we drive into the parking lots at both locations in Davidsonville and Kent Island which tells me that they both also love it here! The prices can be steep especially in this recession inflation market we all are in but the value and security knowing my GSD~ Dakota ~ is in great care makes it all worth it!

We visited and researched many boarding facilities before leaving our 7 pound dog anywhere overnight. Unlike many of the other facilities that we toured, Dogwood Acres was clean, well staffed, and clearly cares about their animals. The staff was friendly and answered all questions even when we were away. We recently picked up our dog from his first stay and he seemed happy and adjusted which is amazing! Only comment I had was that I payed to have a basic bath package upon pickup and it was clear they hadn’t really brushed him or blown him dry. He was still wet and had knots in his fur. Maybe I misunderstood the package, but I did expect at least a blowdry and brush for the price.

We left our boy for 9 days. We loved that we could watch Teddy every day on the web cam. He was obviously having a wonderful time. He was happy to see us, but not overly so, so he must have enjoyed his stay! He fell asleep almost immediately, so relaxed, tired, and happy. We will definitely use them for our boarding in the future.

I rarely post reviews, normally opting to praise great service or products. So, you should consider this review as a warning. I’ll never know how my pet may have been treated, but if the treatment an hour ago (approximately 6:45AM) of a potential new client is any indication - never, ever go to Dogwood Acres. I made an appointment about a week ago to take my dog for daycare, to see how she might fare - with the eventual goal of boarding. I was told that her records needed to be sent from the vet, so I contacted my vet and asked them to email the records to them. I was told by the vet I’ve trusted with the care of my pet for years, that the email was sent - while I was still on the phone with them. So, I get up (early), drive to Dogwood Acres, park and go inside - where I was coldly greeted by a person self-identified as Britt. There were others in the lobby who appeared nice enough, but this employee was behind the desk. She asked for my dog’s name, then told me that her records weren’t there. After a brief exchange stating that they were sent on Monday during a call with my vet, this person dismissed my assertion. Apathy best describes the employee. Maybe to her, I didn’t deserve any compassion. However, I thought that I did. I wasn’t mean or rude. My dog is 14 lbs and friendly. It’s possible that she was wrong - and that the records had been received. Her dismissal was surprisingly quick and definite. Whether the record was there or not - one would want to believe that a client, particularly a potentially new one, is worth showing some level of interest if there is a problem they encounter when trying to do business. If my vet made an error, there was a proper way to handle the situation. But again, apparently I did not deserve that from her. What struck me on the way home is - if a new client can be treated poorly, how would they have treated my dog after I pulled away? To end this review on a positive note - I’m glad that my family didn’t have any plans today, so my dog is fine and remains in my care. I’d have been upset leaving her in the care of anyone who doesn’t know how to treat people - much less my pet.

Thrilled! I took my puppy for the first time last week to daycare and came back all tuckered out. He seemed like he had a great time. I brought him back today and he was so excited he practically jumped out of my arms when I was getting him out of the car. Looove the feed as well. I love checking on him during the day.

We took our dog Momma Bear to Dogwood Acres for three nights and we were very worried about how she would do there since she has not been socialized. She was found as a stray and she is still very leery of a lot of people. They did fantastic with her and we were able to watch her on the webcam.

I had the opportunity to tour the entire place and I am so impressed with the people and the care for the pets! They customize the care for each individual pet as requested by each owner. Then I received the pamphlet and could not believe the prices and so many choices. I recommend anyone who wants the best care for their babies to check out Dogwood Acres! I almost forgot to mention how the pets act as they arrive. They are so excited to be there! Pulling on the leash to get inside. It made my heart happy to see them loving it so much

This place is fantastic. It's like dropping your dog off at summer camp! Much more inviting than some of the places that are located in industrial parks. This pet resort has a wonderful dog pool and dog-friendly playscapes with water misters installed so the dogs stay cool in the summer. The staff is very friendly and my dog LOVES it here. It's a great option for daycare or boarding when you have to travel and can't take your fur-baby with you.

The price gouging is ridiculous. Called to book for a period in July. I was told that this is a popular time, so to give the dogs the most attention possible, they only offer the highest tier package. Huh? Sooo if all the dogs in the facility are at the highest tier, requiring the highest level of attention and interaction, then how does that happen? Do you hire more staff? This doesn’t add up. Simply put,it does not make sense because it is ridiculous. That’s when I stopped taking my dog to this place. They’re basically trying to pee on your leg and tell you it’s rain. At this point we are talking $80+/day BEFORE adding the extras - like a fee to give your dog their meds, extra walks, etc. Over $100/day? Yeah ok. I hate places like this that lie and say the extra cost is for the pet. It’s not. It’s for your profits. While I certainly have no issue paying for quality and service, I will never appreciate being taken advantage of.

I love how well they take care of my dog! They are clean, friendly, and very thorough with the routine you want. They feed your dog at your normal feeding time, give them their meds when needed, and will even give them a treat after their nature walk. The play area cameras are an added plus. I hate leaving my dog behind, but I know he'll be taken care of here.

OMG! This place is the best!! I was in town visiting my Aunt and decided to take my dog Bentley with me in hopes of finding a doggy day care she can go during the day and this was the place she attended for 5 days. Hands down the place I would bring my dog! All the staff are very polite, helpful and just down right animal lovers. They will accommodate your dog in any way shape or form to make sure he/she is having a great time! Bentley says woof woof and can’t wait to be back. 🐾 ❤️

My dog loves this place. She is able to spend all day playing with new friends. The staff feed her and will bathe her for an extra cost when I request it. I love how you can pick up your fur baby as late as 7pm, so I don’t have to rush to leave work. We can also watch the webcams throughout the day and watch all the dogs having fun and try to pick out ours.Overall, we’ve had a good experience with doggy daycare. Not sure about the boarding yet.

I wouldn’t 100% recommend boarding your dog here (daycare seems great). Boarded my dog at Dogwood Acres for 4 nights and we didn’t get daily updates nor a report card/picture after his stay. I’m sure the day care is great here, it seems like it, but would not recommend the boarding. We have no clue if he actually had all his activities each day nor got any feedback on his stay. They don’t have live cameras for their boarding, but they do for their daycare. I would take my dog back here if they provided daily updates with the boarding and/or they installed cameras in all play yards.

The staff at DAPR is the best! I have been taking my pets (total of three now) to the Davidsonville location for more than 10 years now. I have used Kent Island for boarding as well. My pets love Dogwood Acres!

This is an amazing facility! We bought property in MD and didn’t want to be worried about our dog while we were closing on our new home. Our pup stayed overnight, had a bath, and looked great when we picked her up. She gave the worker kisses before we left, which reassured me that she was comfortable during her stay. We now have a facility to use if needed when we are in MD. I highly recommend. All the staff we met were great.

My dog loves coming to doggy daycare here and he loves the staff.When I dropped him off today I was informed that I needed to purchase a package of at least 4 visits so he could continue going to the normal daycare program. Previously I was just being billed per visit. I was in on the 27th of June and no one mentioned that this was going to be the case starting July 1st.I’m not going to say that I won’t continue coming here because my dog seems to have a great time and the facility and daycare staff seem very nice. I’m just annoyed that instead of dogwood being a place where I could easily drop off my dog for the day if something came up unexpectedly, now I have to carefully work in his four visits a month to make sure (1) that I use them all up before the package expires monthly (for the most part he comes once a week). And (2) that I can’t easily just drop him off for an extra visit without paying more for their “ultimate” daycare.Unrelated to that I have been coming here for 5 months now and I still can’t get a straight answer about how the online portal works and why I am unable to login. I have yet to be able to actually view any of my invoices.

We absolutely love this place we go to the Kent Island location and would highly recommend it! We brought our puppy Raven here when she was about 14 weeks old! They have gone above and beyond taking care of our pup. Watching on the live cams the special attention that all the dog specialists give our little girl makes it worth every penny. We have a special shout out to Josh the dog specialist manager who is absolutely incredible with her! We just wanted to say thank you so much for taking care of her. We are on our way to becoming regulars!

Absolutely love dogwood. Friendly staff, affordable rates, etc. I started using them from word of mouth and my pups have been going for about 4 years now. I don’t ever feel bad about leaving them for a weekend because I know they are in good hands! They even worked with my wife and brought our dogs to our wedding as a surprise for me! They are the best! Highly recommend!!

Dogwood Acres is wonderful!! They are responsive, friendly, and professional! We were nervous leaving our pup for the first time but we received an update, a cute little video, and a full report card at the end of our stay which we enjoyed so much! You can tell they really care about each individual dog. Our pup can’t wait to return to Dogwood Acres, thank you to the great staff!

I couldn't be happier with the service my dog and myself received at Dogwood Acres. The staff was friendly and helpful, explaining everything thoroughly before our first visit. The facilities are clean and all of the dogs in the yard appeared happy and well. When I picked my dog up after a four day stay she seemed calm and content. I called during her stay to check on her, the staff was able to identify her quickly and tell me all about her behavior, eating habits etc. Having peace of mind in knowing that my dog is safe and happy in my absence is priceless. We will be back!

Boarded our greyhound here, lodging in their standard kennel. He seemed relaxed and happy when we picked him up after a 5 night stay. They did a wonderful job bathing him as well; I slso think he enjoyed his meals & snacks. He is frightened of other dogs and they were very accommodating to allow him 2 nature walks a day instead of yard time with other dogs. Would definitely use again.

Our puppy was only 14 weeks old when she had to stay at Dogwood Acres due to a family emergency. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Since it was our first boarding there, the stay was free. We will definitely be going back. They took great care of our little pup

We have been taken our dogs to Dogwood Acres for years and have never had any issues. The staff is professional and courteous and are always happy to see our miniature schnauzer, Murphy. Our recent visit for Murphy was for an entire week. When we can to pick him up he was so happy and tired. When we got him home he zonked out for a good couple of hours so you know he really got his play time in. Thanks for taken great care of our puppies throughout the years!! We'll definitely keep coming back and recommending you to our friends!
