The staff at the shelter is awesome, friendly and does a brilliant job taking care of all the animals looking for a new home! The animals are very well cared for even when the shelter is at full capacity…We got the two best and sweetest cats from this shelter!! We are so pleased!! The adoption process is easy to do online! The hardest part is choosing which fur baby you want to take home!!The shelter is always happy to welcome volunteers to help out with the cats and dogs: you can just show up, fill out a form and start straight away!#adoptdontshop

Got my own kitty here. They were very nice. For people saying they don't answer the phone, it's best to stop in. Fill out the application, then come back, and they'll work with you. I love my cat! Thank you everyone. <3

This shelter steals animals and refuses to return them. As a veteran i vote everyone unites and we go protest their shelters until chester is sent home. I personally would be happy to stand infront of this shelter as a pet owner and protest these thiefs. May they be judged by the old gods and not the new. The punishments were much better

Very nice well ran facilities, We can't say enough about the staff Very friendly and helpful and after talking with them on what we were interested in, we left there with a great young mastiff. Thanks again

They do a lot to keep these animals fed and safe...everyday! I used to think how terrible for animals to be in cages until I actually saw for myself for what alls is out there against them...the cages are a safe space AND they get clean water and food everyday. Good job AC! Adopt love!

The staff here are so nice. They are the reason that we were able to adopt our precious baby dog. I am not sure if the staff that works there will read this review or not, but I am so grateful and thankful for all of you. The dog that we adopted is doing so well and is so happy that he found his forever home with us. Again Thank you for everything.

This place is wonderful! The staff was kind, and accommodating, showed us around the entire facility. Allowed us to interact with all the animals. The experience was so great my wife and I have decided to volunteer there

Embarrassing excuse for animal control, fire whoever the hell they have running the trucks. Absolutely sickening disregard for situations when handling them as well.

I brought 2 healthy cats there to get spayed and they ended up coming home with panleukopenia. We specifically asked if they would get exposed to any diseases we were reassured that our cats would not be exposed to anything. And now 10 days later this disease has killed almost all of my cats,the 3 cats that are still alive are sick and aren't going to survive this. Having to watch our animals suffer a long horrible death is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.I understand the shelter is very busy with limited volunteers but we were told we had nothing to worry about. They said they sterilize the shelter very well and all the sick animals are separated from healthy ones. But my cats got this disease from the shelter so how did this happen if they do sterilize and keep sick animals separated

The coordinator at the shelter couldn't have be nicer with the help of the adoption of my new little fur baby Raphael 💜 She walked my daughter through the process, answered all our questions throughly with great patience. Most of the animals are spayed or neutered and have their 1st shots. They are vet checked and healthy. My Raphael is the most adorable, sweetest, kindest cat, he is bringing so much joy to my life.There are so many wonderful kittens, cats and puppies and dogs at the shelter the need the love of someone. If you would like to have a pet /fur baby and are unable to have one at your current home or due to work restrictions consider volunteering with the shelter a few hours when your schedule allows. You will be doing something that will give so much joyand so many animals happy to have someone new to play with or just hold and pet them. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for this animal shelter located in Cumberland, MD. I support them any way I can, especially their work with their cat population. The shelter is no-kill and relies heavily on donations. They do a wonderful job and deserve all the help they can get. I adopted my senior cat from this Shelter 18 months ago. I adore him.

I’ve seen other people share similar reviews but I just wanted to share my experience so it doesn’t happen to others: I went to adopt a cat here and fell in love with the sweetest kitten ever. Not even a month after having her she fell extremely ill and had to be rushed to the vet where i was told she had Feline Leukemia which she contracted from the shelter. Now at only six months old and countless vet bills later her condition has gotten to the point of no return and she passed away. Cats with FLV should be tested at the shelter and potential owners should be told what cats have this heartbreaking disease. I don’t regret adopting my cat but please be warned the staff will not tell you which cats have this illness and obviously don’t care about the cats or owners.

Whatever you do do not go to the shelter and try to get a loving animal these people put you through too much stuff they telling me that I can't have a pet a dog that needs a loving home that has a loving home waiting for it because I don't know the name of my vet that I had for my other animals I've had in my life years ago are you serious they don't want to give him away they taking them pants and putting them down that's what they doing do not ever go over there and the staff is very unfriendly

I love This place wishing that I could help out with Volunteer work.. Great ppl that Cares for these animals . Waiting for a for ever home .. please don't mind look before u decide too by on marketplace nor another breeder. Think about rescuing some furball from a abandon home or been hurt. Love forever furballs

Yeah, go here if you wanna struggle to take care of a kitten and play with the coinflip of whether or not they might die. Dogs are treated far better than cats in this shelter and all the cats usually come with some sort of problem as if they've been neglected the whole time they've been sheltered. Fleas, various infections, all usually coming in with no warning from anybody at the shelter. This should be some sort of rights violation. Needs to be shut down.

Wouldn’t let us adopt because my roommate has had animals die from old age or other problems and they said they won’t let him adopt an animal to help with his mental illness. They don’t care about you they think ur a liar about everything. Wise I can give negative stars

I understand it's hard to take care of so many animals, but most of them are all kept outside in wire cages with tarps on top, when I was there, there were cats just walking loose around in the driveway and around cars. One dog there I saw had mattes. Was quite upsetting to see all this.

Great staff. The feral cats are well taken care of. It's refreshing to see that. I've never been to a shelter that did that before.
