bought an Apple gift card and was trying to enter the code, but the code part was broken, so I went to ask what I should do, but the employee got annoyed and kept saying it was fraud . Of course, I could have misunderstood because my English is bad, but they said they wouldn't sell it to me anymore and kept saying it was a fraud , so I returned it. They did it for me. It's the same neighborhood, so I've been going there for over 10 years, but I felt so bad that they were so reckless and disrespectful to their customers. I feel unfair and resentful.

I love the people who work here at Giant Food they're so friendly I always have the best experience in their only thing is they don't have a humongous selection like some of the other stores but the atmosphere and the cleanliness is very important to me and it's awesome

I have been shopping at this store for years and the quality of customer service has declined exponentially.The people at the self checkout rarely understand how the "scan-it" works.Sometimes at the deli the employees will just stand in the back even though customers are waiting and have requested a number.The bakery department in particular has a rude older lady employee who argued with me that the fake Whipped topping in a cake was actually boston cream. The bakery manager was apparently too afraid to call me to discuss my further questions about this cake and through the rude employee claimed she tried calling me but my number was "disconnected." Ok.The cake thing might seem dumb but they are falsely advertising a chemical Whipped topping as a "cream" and when people have dietary restrictions or care what they eat, they have a right to know what they're actually buying. It's funny that a bakery manager would ever try to pass such nasty Whipped topping as a cream- s/he clearly has never baked a day in their life and is woefully under qualified their position. They also use this "Whipped topping" for the tres leches cake which is an insult to the Hispanic community.The only reason I gave 2 stars is for when the scan it works, because when it works you don't have to deal with any of the nasty employees.Also the people gathering the carts are nice and always working hard.

Extremely Disappointed with Gian Food Pharmacy and Pharmacist Craig in Columbia, MDFirstly, Craig is a PIG - Craig seemed unhappy. disinterested and unengaged when providing patient care service. I called a few times, and he answers the phone never listens, always uninformed and just spiting in the phone being condescending and rude, It was evident that he had no desire to provide me with the assistance and guidance that I needed, and he ended the phone abruptly. His dismissive attitude made me feel like my concerns were insignificant and unworthy of his attention. I am calling my doctor and ask her to transfer my prescription to WALGREENS - BYE GIANT FREETOWN ROAD / HICKORYRIDGE

Nice store, but it took way too long to check out. They did not have any of the self-checkout lanes open and only had ONE regular cashier open. The cashier appeared to have some disability and was extremely slow. That is NOT the cashier’s fault, it’s poor management. If you’re gonna self-checkout closed and only have ONE cashier, please put someone else at the check out lanes.

Something about the vibe in the store is just a little bit off. Just had the unfortunate experience of having the most miserable cashier I think I seen in my entire life. Not sure if it is himself, me ( I tend to get along with most people ) or management to blame. As for prices, they're ok considering the times, of course I'm always looking for vitamins and stuff on the clearance rack ( find some really good deals )

I did a curbside order and they sold me a bag of rotting oranges. It was incredibly obvious I don’t understand how the employees didn’t notice. I can only guess that they don’t care. I will not shop there again.

I love the folks at the Giant pharmacy! They're so kind and pleasant. They asked me to wait half an hour and my meds were ready when I returned. Seems like they have a team that really enjoys working with each other.In other news, I've noticed that Giant's food prices are pretty high compared to other stores in the area. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like their sale prices are other stores' regular prices. I still love Giant, of course, but there's a lot of competition in the area--you may be able to get some things cheaper at other places.

The self-checkout machines are have been set to maximum paranoia, and the scales are not accurate. The store limits self-checkout to 20 items, but their checkout machines cannot handle even that much before locking up and requiring employee assistance (this was self checkout right?). They only have one regular checkout lane open at night. So, expect your checkout process to take a looooong time. Also, don't come here if you want anything spicy.

The employees are nice and friendly, but the self-service checkouts are horrible now. The checkout scale has been around for a long time, but Giant can't get it right. Instead of stopping theft, all it does is stop paying customers from checking out in a timely manner and hold up the line. I often have to have someone come over and check my bag 2-3 times because it said the thing I just scanned wasn't scanned. Haven't had this problem at Harris Teeter or Wegmans, both I know have a scale in their self checkout.

I've been shopping at this store for a few years now. Lately, I've started using their online store pickup service. I absolutely love it! The attendants are so nice, friendly, funny, and careful about providing good service.The only reason I'm not selecting 5 stars is not their fault at all. It is the because of the Karens who decide it's their own personal special parking spot, leave their car, and do their grocery shopping. It leaves those of us who are actually supposed to be there having to park at the very back, parallel park in between them, or squeeze in front of their parked car. Which of course makes the Karens upset that they are delayed getting out by a clogged pickup lane.It won't stop me from using the online pick up though. The attendants and their excellent service is worth the hassle.

They hardly have cashiers, at certain hours you can't find a single one. But in addition they rolled out an update on the self checkout that absolutely does not work. It crashes frequently. It also weighs items and throws errors if the bagging area doesnt weigh the right amount. But it throws the same error for multiple items of the same type, suggesting that the database of weights it is comparing to ais incorrect. So save yourself time and drive to one of the myriad of other grocery stores in the area.Plus the store has always smelled awful. Getting rid of the seafood counter would go a long way to improving this store.

I love this Giant Food store. They workers are courteous and the pharmacy staff is so professional. They take pride in getting my subscription filled in a timely manner. They also are efficient in getting you your vaccines. I’m gotten two here and never had a long wait. The store is always clean, the workers are always working to restock the shelves and if they see you looking for something they will ask, “can I help you”? I like that, because it means I will get out the store faster with the items I came to get.

They no longer offer ANY full service express registers. If you're not buying enough you're expected to stand in line behind customers with huge orders or do it yourself. The only way they will extend the courtesy of waiting on you is if you're buying a lot. If they can't extend the energy to check me out I'll give my money to someone who will. I've NEVER had this problem at FOOD LION.PATHETIC! They used to be a chain that prided itself on excellent customer service. Now it's cutting service and saving a buck

They do not decorate for the Christmas Season! There is no spirit at this store! Literally everyone else decorates! I will be going out of my way just to shop at a place that actually celebrates the holidays!

This Giant Food has been my main grocery store for 20+ years. Great staff -- friendly and efficient cashiers and workers in the aisles. Great selection, and the store even has some items I can't find in other local supermarkets. Thanks!

The pharmacy is a mess. Walked in w my 4 yr kid for shots. They said walk in is 45 mins, after 1 hr 10 mins we were attended to. Def a bad place for shots. Won't be back. Folks lining up to pickup their meds. Bathroom is disgusting and should be avoided. It's near the back near the lobsters.

I travel the extra 10 minutes to go to this Giant for my needs because unfortunately, the one right up the street from me (Cradlerock) is awful. This Giant always has inventory and pleasant employees. Worth the extra travel. Their fruit is fresh, deli meat is in stock… it’s great

Clean, very pleasant atmosphere and the cashiers were very helpful. Even the security guard was pleasant and accommodating. Very excellent selection of various groceries, bakery products and personal items. A bit off the visual path but worth it. Sale items are great as well.

Very clean and organized. There is always someone working in the produce section to keep it neat. The cashiers are friendly and the lines go fast. The Peapod pickup and delivery is nice, but on most occasions I need something for delivery or pickup for the next day, and it is not available. If you had next day available more often, I would use it more often. What I have been most impressed with is the quality of the flower bouquets! Each one I have purchased has lasted 3-4 weeks!

My boyfriend and I had bought a full cart worth of groceries. We went to the self check out because we simply don’t enjoy interacting with people lol I wish I had gotten the woman’s name that works there but she demanded we go into the line next to the self check out. We said okay then she proceeded to talk to us the whole time during check out at her register, telling us how the bottom part of the conveyor belt can see what we have on the bottom. This woman really thought we were going to steal stuff at the self check out and that’s why she told us to go into her line!! I am sure it was discrimination towards us being young. We are both in our mid 20’s. I bet she was surprised when we paid in full, no food stamps or anything. I have never felt so looked down upon because of my boyfriend and I’s age that this woman really didn’t think we were honest, young people! Our total went to $550.00. Not all young people are thieves and quite frankly my boyfriend and I were raised by amazing parents to set down great foundations as children and know regardless from who or where it isn’t right to lie, cheat or steal. Plus this Giant is awful, always out of stock of everything, customer service is awful, prices are absurd and they think you’re stealing if you’re a young adult and have a cart full of food. Don’t go here, I still can’t believe that woman thought we were going to do that because of our age.

Prices have rocketed since COVID. Clientele ranges from nasty to nice. Staff are generally indifferent. Food is constantly being moved around, possibly for some 1950s psycho-reason that makes us buy more. Good choice but the vegetables and fruit can be bought better elsewhere.

Pretty frustrated with pharmacy right now. Needed to pick up a script. Called the store from home. After a minutes long introduction on the pharmacy phone I found out the pharmacy was closing at 5 today. Rushed to store in pouring rain. Arrive at 5 sharp. Pharmacy was all locked up. Cheerful worker leaving said sorry, we open at 9 tomorrow though. My fault, probably. But if I hadn't had to spend 5 minutes on the phone I would have my med.

I arrived there around 3pm on a Saturday with dread; I normally go grocery shopping early Saturday morning to avoid the crowds and have a better chance that the shelves will be stocked. The weather was good so I expected everyone to be out and figured this would occupy the next couple of hours.I was pleasantly surprised there was ample parking still available when I got there. I was even more surprised to find the shelves fully stocked and relatively short lines at the deli and check out.This happened the last time at was at this location as well. I normally go to the Laurel or Burtonsville locations and always seem to find parking more challenging and much longer lines. I may make this my new go-to location for my bigger grocery shopping runs.

Some of their customer service agents are horrible, especially when it comes to Western Union. They will tell you that it's not working even when it is just because they don't feel like doing it. In particular the young lady named Shay will lie and tell you it's down. She has an absolutely terrible attitude and should be no where near the customer service section.

This was the most bizarre experience I have seen in a grocery store in a long time. I had maybe eight items and it took me 25 minutes to get them checked out and so I could pay for them. One of the self-service items was operational in every way except that I couldn't scan anything with it and there was nobody going around to make sure that things were working right. in addition to that I must have seen at least a half-dozen employees in Giant corporate uniforms staring around at the floor. I sincerely hope things get better there because Amazon is going to have their lunch if it doesn't change

The meat and seafood staff are great. Not so much at the deli counter. I've never had a prescription filled, but I love the hours and its convenient. Overall I'd say it's an above average grocery store.

Love this Giant. The entire staff is pleasant and always ready to help with all of your needs and questions. It's just a wonderful place to shop and get medications. The staff at the pharmacy is outstanding as well and very knowledgeable to say the least.
