This store has NO full service express lanes open anymore. I was buying about 8 items and the only lanes open had customers with large carts in line. When I asked about it at the "solution center" I was told they don't have them anymore because they have "self checks" available. In my opinion, what they actually mean is "if you're not buying enough you can go check yourself out - you're not worth waiting on."After my complaint they opened a lane to check me out and immediately another customer got in line. At no point did they turn on a register light and they closed it down as quickly as they could after servicing the second customer so as to prevent more people from getting in line.When will stores realize they should never inconvenience customers WHO ARE TRYING TO GIVE THEM MONEY! No one should have to go to customer service to get out of a store in a timely matter.Since these are corporate level decisions I asked for the number of the district manager but the store said they couldn't give it out and referred me to a 1-800 style "customer service" number instead.Since the DM won't give their business number out I declined to waste more of my time with the usual "your call is very important to us" runaround and instead posted this review instead.Perhaps if someone at the regional and/or corporate level reads this they might consider creating store policies that give higher levels of customer service instead of less - especially at the front end. It's time to stop offering 4 self check registers for every 1 full service one. Stop asking customers to do the work for free that used to be thought of as normal customer service!And finally, to make matters worse when I exited the store I noticed that all the old "parcel-pick up" lanes (where you could pull up your car to load your groceries) have now been replaced by slots for only people who can afford the shop online fees and order ahead. I guess if you're coming into the store you can just drag your groceries out to your far away parking spot and load it all yourself. No more bringing up your car close to the store - you're on your own! I used to leave my cart at the front (where an outside employee kept an eye on it) while I drove up to load it. Well NOT ANYMORE! If you're not paying GIANT to load it by shopping online - then those lanes are gone and you can just do it yourself. This will be fun when summer starts and I get to do it in the pouring rain!It's time to start buying my groceries elsewhere. Food Lion is a only a few minutes away in Scaggsville and their customer service doesn't put me through any of this! Their store may not be as big but at least they treat their customers with respect. Heck, they even keep BOTH store entrances open at the front - unlike GIANT, whose front end service is so nonexistent they're created conditions that invite shoplifting to the point they've had to turn them into laughable "emergency exits."It's a shame. After 30 years it's sad to see a grocery store chain that used to set the gold standard in shopping, sink to this!Corporate greed has created this and only corporate intervention can fix it - if you can get through to them - I hear there's a customer service number - although listen carefully - their menu options may have changed.

This is my favorite Giant!!! They have done some upgrades since my last visit! This location has everything I need and more!The staff seems very friendly and helpful. You don't have to go searching for an associate to help you!This store located in a beautiful shopping center, which has a variety businesses....a bank, the Columbia Association gym, and a few restaurants.

My first time at Giant, is a great place for finding produce, fresh fruits, frozen things, and international stuff. They have a complete hall dedicated to international stuff and I'm pretty glad for that. Also you can get some discounts in a lot of things and pre order some of others.

This is how the bakery employee wrote on my dads’s cake. It looks like a 5 year old wrote on it. Someone picked it up for me, so I couldn’t get it fixed but I just don’t see how the employee thought this was ok to send out. Birthday cake are supposed to look nice. I was embarrassed to serve this to our guests. Do better bakery employees.

Love that they sell Fisher's popcorn (like what u get on the boardwalk in Ocean city)..... this is the most amazing popcorn on the planet and u can buy it here!! I love the white cheddar dusted caramel, if u haven't ever had it, u have 2 try it! I'm not even a big popcorn fan but this popcorn is AMAZING!

I used to love this store, but sadly food from here is nearly always close to spoiling, the strawberries always look dried out, the fish is pass spoilage w/ bad smells and upset stomach to prove it. Someone needs to make sure that the neighborhood is getting safe and healthy food.

When you go here bring a magnifying glass. That way you can read the fine print on the store coupon signs. Take a look at the photo of their recent in-store coupon sign offering watermelons for $2.88. You have to read the VERY SMALL sentence below the gigantic offer to see that you have to spend $25 to get the deal. Wonder how many people fail to read, and wind up paying full price? How tricky! Giant used to not pull this kind of thing. I do most of my shopping at Food Lion. Their advertising and signage is much clearer. I'm not giving my hard earned grocery dollars to a store that buries the details in the fine print!

I was new to the area and only shopped at this local Giant. I got used to their high level of service and store cleanliness at this store and I assumed all Giants were amazing stores. I went to other stores and they are not the same. This store must have great management because they are doing it right. Keep it up!

Mary at the River Hill Giant deli provided excellent customer service when I came in to pick up a large catering order. She was friendly and helpful and made sure I left the store satisfied. Thanks, Mary!

Juan literally save my grandson's life!! I pulled the cart up to my car opened the trunk let my hands off the cart which I thought it was still, well it started to roll away. Juan ran to the cart & stopped it from rolling into the parking lot. His job is difficult. I personally know this from past history. I'm a native to Clarksville (30+years) I witnessed a car not stopping as Juan was pushing a heavy load across the street. Juan must always be aware of his surroundings. THANK YOU JUAN!!!!!!!!

Good not great. Staff are terrible about blocking produce & health foods areas - especially the Giant Pickup shoppers - just move your carts to one side. Self-checkout is rarely open first thing in the morning - sorry, but I'm running in to grab stuff on way to work & don't want to wait while the *one" cashier chats to every customer in front of me and/or tells someone it's fine to go back to the other side of the store to get the thing(s) they forgot.

Everytime I visit this store, early morning. The same worker in produce either has his mask down below his mouth or occasionally below his nose. Every other employee and shopper has a properly placed mask. This has been going on for months. Finally thought I would give a review about it.

This has always been my favorite grocery store, mostly due to their scan-as-you-go operation. I downloaded the Scan it app on my phone, and have use it countless times since it became available. Suddenly, my last 2 visits (including just now) have resulted in audits. I understand the randomness of being selected for an audit, but the store is not equipped to resolve it when it occurs on your phone. Both times, it cost me double the amount of time I spent shopping, and the end result was to cancel the orders and start ringing up the items from scratch.

The staff is friendly, and the store is generally well stocked. But numerous deli offerings have disappeared. The "old" Giant corporate owners stressed customer satisfaction, but that is now no more. Try getting a product that you miss back in the deli. Also, this store tends to get reconfigured more than most. Products tend to move around a lot, which makes it much more difficult to get in and out of the store quickly, particularly during a pandemic.

Not happy. Have been going to this store for last 10 years. After the last 3 months they still have empty shelves. No paper towels, no food, no soup, no disinfectants, no cleaning products, very shabby. Will be going somewhere else from now on. Harris teeter does not have this problem. Pharmacy still is great thanks ugh.

Typical chain grocery store. Huge selection of processed food small selection of fresh produce. Store is clean staff is friendly though. Gave 3 stars because of my personal beliefs that we should move away slightly from processed food as a nation. Some big corps care not about our health and local farmers and more about bottom lines. If you read this far then take that into consideration when spending your money.

Nice big store with a large variety of items in each section. The store is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Prices seem to be average for the area and seafood counter is well stocked with favorites. This store is easy in and Easy out, which is another reason I shop here.

I've shopped at this Giant since it opened, and even worked there for a few years. The staff has always worked as a team and been super friendly. The selection is pretty decent, and the prices are average. Its a good place to come if you need something quick.

Great variety of products, I have Celiac disease and they have a huge amount of gluten free items! The new layout confuses me... But I think that's just because of comfort and less about it being truly confusing. The staff is always very willing to help you find what you need

Good selection of groceries and fruits. Staffs are not friends especially in the check-in counter staffs.Always check for deals and local coupes. most of the coupes require minimum $25 purchase. Also try to register with Giant website (for Free), so that you will a membership number and this is eligible for some membership related deals. Some of the vegetables items are expensive than other local stores.
