Absolutely Amazing. The staff even while busy do their best to not turn anyone down -- as well as keeping up with the animals in their care.I was able to adopt shugar and we have already bonded and she is absolutely amazing. She's great on the leash without pulling, she recalls, and will be absolutely amazing as my service dog. She was well loved and cared for and it's very obvious in how she acts and her trusting attitude.

My husband and I just adopted 2 cats, a 3 year old tortoise shell, and a 4-month-old hray briwn tabby. They are very thorough and patient with all questions and concerns. They even provide a how-to guide for all pet concerns! šŸ’š thank you for everything!!!

My husband died 4 years ago and I had to suddenly move. I had 2 cats and there were a lot of strays that I took to ccas. The 2 cats I took there were like family to me. I cried when I took my cats there. They were like family. I promised myself when I got my stuff together I would come back and adopt a cat from there. Fast forward to this week. I go look at kittens there with my daughter. She is excited to finally be able to have a cat again. They told us since we previously surrendered cats there they would have to ask the placement coordinator if it was ok if we could adopt. So we would have to wait until the next day to hear from the placement coordinator. So the next day I called up there and asked about my application. I spoke to whoever this coordinator was and she was nasty to me from the get go. She told me my application was suspicious. Because I have surrendered cats before. I tried to explain my situation, she wouldn’t listen. Told me I put the same address as I did when I surrendered pets, which was a lie. Was so condescending and power tripping, over a tiny kitten we plan to love forever. No sympathy for our situation. We surrendered the cats there because we loved them and wanted to make sure they had a good home. Broke my daughters heart on her b day. If you expect sympathy don’t speak to whoever the placement coordinator is. Doesn’t care about giving a animal a good home, cares more about power tripping on people. Makes me sick how people are like this now.

Very nice facility and helpful staff here. They're not pushy and they take the time to let you meet any potential pets you may want to adopt. And we found a really cute black kitty during our last visit šŸˆā€ā¬› She is very friendly and has adapted well to her new home with us.

I heard that they stole a white dog named Mako and haven’t given him back. This is INHUMANE. Look up @makobaby83 on TikTok and help boost their videos so that enough people can SUE this place. This isn’t even helping animals anymore, they don’t even treat them right! They’re selfish because they wanna stay in business or something. There’s other people here if you look at the ONE star reviews. They had their pets get taken away by these people that work here. THEIR TAKING PETS AWAY FROM THEIR FAMILIES. The same pet you probably adopted is being missed by their original family that found out their pet was stolen. Mako was stolen FROM HIS OWN PORCH. He was sprayed by a skunk so that’s why they had him on a leash in their porch. And these people TOOK HIM.

Dirty smelly. Can't see the dogs unless you have one picked out. You can see them online. Cats in cages all around lobby area. You can see them. Adoption fees free apparently

SPCA needs to do something about Officier E. Westbrook. She is harassing people and making threats. Dog was seen by the veterinarian and she threatened to take another dog in the house (a dog that has nothing to do with the case) if she didn't see the receipt for the veterinarian. The Veterinarian we saw even stated that she doesn't like her because she tries to abuse her position. Veterinarian stated our dog is just very old and losing his hair- there is nothing wrong with our dog! She needs to be told before someone sues SPCA! Do better.

We’ve adopted all our animals from here and had nothing but positive experience’s every time. My son loves to go and visit the open play cat room. I sit on the bench in the middle of the room and allow them to check me out. Before you know it, you have a lap full of cats. My son loves all the toys they have for him to play with all the cats.

Very nice shelter! The animals are well cared for and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The adoption process was quick and simple, and we were able to take home a new pet the same day.

Staff and volunteers treat all animals with lots of TLC. We adopted a kitten a few months ago and hope to foster sometime soon. My daughter and I also began volunteering recently, which is a fun and rewarding experience (also a great way for students to earn required service-learning hours).

Amazing staff! There is always pets looking for loving homes. They have more than cats and dogs to adopt or foster.

I know they are overwhelmed with animals, and do a lot of great work but I would suggest getting a second opinion if you bring an animal here. My sister and I brought an older cat here that was previously in a colony that we were working on adopting out since she was very friendly. CCAS was going to put her down due to her not eating/having diarrhea. We decided to take her somewhere else and it ended up being an easily curable parasite. She is happy and healthy living indoors now for almost a year.

This place is SO AWESOME! I work with homeless Veterans and called the shelter to ask if they had any programs available that donate cat food and litter to the population I serve. I was informed that they did, as long as I could come and pick it up. When I arrived, they were so friendly and generous! They provided my Veteran with enough supplies to last he and his furry friend for months and months to come! Their kindness and generosity were overwhelming. They were also very kind to my fur baby (a Border Terrier) whom I had in the car with me at the time of pick-up. It was obvious from their interactions that they truly care about animals (and people too!)

Awesome facility. Adopted my cat there last June. Couldn't have been nicer. A real asset to the county. i would strongly recommend CCAS to anyone looking for a new animal companion. My girl, Nicole (AKA Cora) is my best friend in the world. Thank you CCAS for taking care of her until I discovered her.

The lady who inprocessed our pets was very delightful and made every effort to make them feel welcome. Our family appreciated her making the dogs feel more at ease. We left feeling they were in good hands.

These people are awesome. Even though they only allow appointments right now. But because I'm a truck driver they allowed me to slide in and get me a wonderful companion for my truck, Shanti. The process look took less than an hour. I am so very happy with her. She is such a sweet cat. Thank you guys for helping me out when nobody else wanted to

I adopted a cat from Cecil County Animal Services a few months ago. It took me several visits to pick out a cat that would be a good fit for me, and the staff I talked to were very friendly and patient in answering all my questions and helping me find the perfect cat. The free roam cat room was clean and had lots of toys and beds for the cats, and even a screened in porch for them to hang out on. It was a great experience adopting here!

I adopted two kittens at this shelter, the next day one of the kittens drop dead. So they agree to waive the adoption fee for a new kitten. I go to the shelter and pick the cat that I want and I was told by the supervisor that she wanted to hold this kitten for a couple days so the same thing did not happen. I go back to pick her up and the lady goes on to tell me this cat isn’t available and that she won’t allow me to get her because the last time I came in I was under the influence. That is absurd because I’ve been in recovery for 1.5 years and I have a traumatic brain injury. Yes I get why she may have assumed this but the way said assumptions were handled was uncalled for. She had no right to accuse me of this, without asking me one question everything she said was from a straight assumption.

We adopted an 8 month old kitten with a missing eye, and when we took her to our vet we were told that a surgery should have been performed to remove the remaining pieces of the eye properly and close it up before she was ever made adoptable. She’s 9 months old and about to go into heat, and they did not perform the operation to spay her or disclose that they wouldn’t be able to get us in for the surgery for weeks, before we signed our papers to take her home. We love our kitten, but this is by FAR the worst treatment of animals from a facility I’ve ever seen. There’s clearly no regard for the animals themselves. If they had the best interest of my cat in mind she would have been spayed and properly cared for before being put up for adoption. My vet was appalled to see the condition she was in. I’ve been back and forth with Kay at the front desk for a week about scheduling and while my cat was supposed to come in on Saturday to have her eye looked at, that was cancelled and I had to call the shelter multiple times to find that out. I am appalled.

Absolutely disgusted by this place. I brought a pregnant outside cat that was part of a colony by my house in and was told they would let her have the babies, spay them, and then release her or try to adopt all of them out. Come to find out a few weeks later when I go to check on the kittens that they aborted the kittens, and released the cat who knows where because it’s not in my colony anymore. I was promised they wouldn’t be hurt, promised they were all to be adopted, left my name and number so I could pick her back up to release her to the colony again, and was completely lied to.
