Their food is always more expensive than any other grocery store so I typically don't grocery shop there anymore but I use the ((PHARMACY)) there and I'm currently working on switching pharmacies because there is a young boy that works the register and he seriously needs a lesson in manors. My meds came up short one month so the following month I counted them as soon as my wife got home with them and sure enough I was missing meds. We called up there right away and they said we have your meds right here we didn't even have to explain which means they knew all along they had my meds. My guess is they take a few and set them aside and hope you don't notice them missing so they can keep them. One time the young boy would not give me my meds he said that the address was wrong on the bottle so I called my doctor and while waiting for a call back I started to do some research and what I found out was the boy was lying the whole time and the address didn't even matter. I printed all the info out and was furious and before I got to go up there with the information I found online their shifts changed and the evening shift sent me a text saying my meds were ready for pickup. I drove to the pharmacy and got my meds that the boy would not give me and nothing was different. I asked one of the employees there about it and they said he has no clue what he is talking about and no right to hold my medication like that. If you are thinking of using their pharmacy or already are make sure to count your meds because if they were stealing mine they will steal yours as well.

Giant probably has the second best organics selection after Harris Teeter in the area. Prices are ok. I don't but much else here, though I do get sheet cakes for parties here, they are good as far as sheet cakes go.

While pricey..what I can't find elsewhere is usually here. Plus..abd this saves me driving time..they carry organic foods to some extent. So that is a plus. You can still get a real person to check you out, at the Giant..a plus!

Great grocery store! Clean, organized, and great sales!! They are really good about marking items down for clearance and sometimes extraordinary deals can be had! I'm usually very happy with the pharmacy as well for the exception of one individual! Overall I really enjoy this Giant Food location!!

Walked in looking for bulgar wheat saw people getting walk in COVID and flu shots needed to unthaw the COVID booster but no apt. or waiting a week so I did it. One in each arm. Done! Got talking to a retired Navy guy who it turns out was in terrible auto accident over 40 years ago and I was the night x ray tech who did his x rays and was up all night doing post op. Rays so I remember him. We had great docs back at Pease so he didn't lose his leg and has no limp to this day. Small world. Proud to have served my country.

I have been shopping at this location for years. The store has gone done tremulously. On several occasions, I have come into the store and the employees are standing by the door smoking. The deli department has been closed by 7 or 730pm when the sign states it should be open until 10pm. Last month, I visited the deli several times and the employees were rude and had no customer services skills. I stood there waiting while the employee continued to mingle in the back. I know she saw me, but she continued washing the instruments as if I was not stand there waiting. I had asked if the deli hours had changed and she said she was closing the deli because she was the only one working. Yesterday, the same issue. The deli was shut down. If you are short staff, it would make sense to update your hours or put “when we feel like opening” on the sign. The seafood department was not staffed so I could not order anything. It was between 7 and 715pm so I do expect to receive service during this time. The meat/bacon department was ransacked and needed to be organized. I have decided to go the location in Lusby to save my self the frustration. The California location should close or hire better managers for their departments. The pharmacy is the only department that has been consistent with their hours and the employees are polite. The deli and seafood departments need improvement.

This Giant is kept stocked well. They have a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as other staples. They have a great Bakery where you can get fresh cakes, pies, and other treats. They even customize cakes on site. One can't forget the meat an seafood departments where you can get a wide variety of items. The deli is well stocked and the staff very friendly, professional, and efficient. Their pharmacy is outstanding and the staff go out of their way to be supportive of the customer, even during these days of insanity. Their employee who gathers carts ensures each is wiped down and that the additional sanitizers for customer use is properly supplied. Although their prices are higher than other box stores, the convenience go being able to get everything at one place makes it worth it at this point. Even during these days of shortages due to government mismanagement they are able to keep an adequate stock of most items on their shelves although they are not empty from the runaway inflation we are experiencing.March 2023 Update. The above is still true but sadly they are caught in the runaway inflation as reflected in their prices. They now are among the leaders in high prices as compared to other retail stores in the immediate vicinity. The pharmacy is great and the deli counter still features a good variety of Boar's Head products.

Everything looks so fresh when you come in the flowers are Beautiful, Deli is Fantastic. Seafood dept is also good! Produce dept is also so nice. I love the whole store and the Cashiers are so kind and helpful. The prices for me are a little high on some items, but I still love this store!!!

Love the store, the people, have been shopping here since it opened. The concern is the website is very hard to use. When you try to access the store to make your shopping decisions it is very hard to actually get there. Please have someone look at the website, not using the internal store site, an actual outside the system site and use the website. My wife wants to make sure what she is looking for and compares using the app. She is frustrated by the process each time she uses the website.

Okay folks this is not good. I have always loved Giant and for most who know me, fresh produce is important to me and most of us. I purchased a 5 lbs. bag of Russet Potatoes from the Giant in California, MD. They were mostly rotten and leaking fluid, which my husband and I did not notice until we opened the bag. GROSS and gross. This was on a Sunday when the produce is usually the freshest. Idk whether they aren't paying people enough to care or are understaffed, either way, this is unacceptable. Groceries are very expensive these days and to pay for rotten food is just offensive and careless of the Giant brand. Never thought I would have to say this, but check all your groceries carefully before you buy from Giant in California, MD. They received two stars because the store was clean and the staff was courteous. BAD GIANT.

This Giant has excellent workers. They went above and beyond to help me. Prices are really high. I can find the same items elsewhere much much cheaper. I gave a 5 star rating because the employees are always so kind and go out of their way to help me find items I need.

Shop giant today. Mind you I chose giant it was nearest me at the time. That being said, I had a very good experience, loved all the choices. Prices weren't so bad either. I think I pay a little bit more to find the items I want in stock. One thing I found is they had more. self-serve stations and maned stations. I happen to be old-fashioned and then like to talk to the people behind the counter, if there's something wrong with the coupon or something I can speak with in a person. I found this person quite quick at his job and didn't hold me up at all, and polite too. I highly recommend this giant.

So long as they utilize human beings as cashiers, I'll continue to shop there (clean, well lit, good expiration dates)... My cashier was personable, quite friendly and made the transaction pleasurable!

Good Giant store, you can get everything you need here! As a former Giant Seafood manager, this is one of the best seafood departments that I have ever seen, the GM here knows what he is doing and the Seafood and produce staff are incredibly helpful!!

The worst grocery experience ever. I got 4 Pepsi 6 pack products cause they were 4 for 12. The coupon did not come up for some reason even after putting my rewards card info in. They called the not so helpful night "manager" if you can really call her that. She first said the sale was for Pepsi only. Then I told her it was Pepsi products. She then said no it's only Pepsi and ginger ail because that is what was in the picture on the flyer. Just very inconsiderate andlazy to not even check the sale tags on every drink product I had. Will never return. Would wrather spend more money at harris teeter.

This Giant has it all from an all-star staff in the pharmacy to a great meat selection. The store is always tidy and well-lit, plus they always have great tunes playing over the radio. Stop by when you’re looking for a different grocery run experience!

I go to the California MD giant Saturdays. My only gripe is that the delli has not had the rotisserie chicken salad for the last 2 saturdays. And did not have the regular cold slaw today.

Cashier was great! Somehow my giant rewards card number had been deleted. I haven't been able to use it the last two times, and finally had to come home and get on the phone with Giant to get it fixed. How did my phone number get deleted from my account? Thankfully, the nice lady at Giant's reward center fixed it for me. Plus, Giant needs to return to their system where your points automatically go on your rewards card without you having to select every month whether you wanted them, and whether you want them to be used on gas or groceries. It'd be nice for them just to be loaded to my card and I randomly choose as I go along.people don't have time monthly to check their account to load their reward points to specifically groceries or specifically gas.

My wife and I waited at the bakery counter for 10 minutes yesterday, patiently waiting until the employee behind the counter finished his task. Once he completed, I tried catching his attention, but he walked by us twice carefully avoiding eye contact and completely ignoring us. He eventually went into the walk-in refrigerator where he could continue to give us the cold shoulder. Needless to say, we won’t be back to Giant’s bakery department—terrible customer service.
