This is beyond appalling! how infuriatingly dreadful experience with customer service. As I attempted to complete my evening shopping with my son, the checkout machine displayed a message requesting customer service assistance.Instead of offering assistance with a modicum of civility, this individual had the audacity to bark orders at us like we were disobedient children. Her demeanor oozed with contempt and unprofessionalism, as if she was auditioning for the role of checkout dictator. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, this paragon of rudeness decided to verbally assault me. Considering me as a foreigner in my own country as if my very presence offended her delicate sensibilities. And then, to top it all off, she had the audacity to threaten physical violence in front of my son. Disgusting!The sheer audacity of a Latino woman, a minority herself, unleashing such vile discrimination against a fellow citizen is utterly stupefying. It's inconceivable! I'm left utterly flabbergasted by the repugnance of it all. And Giant, how on earth did you allow such a despicable excuse for customer service to represent your brand? It's beyond comprehension!Is this the kind of establishment that condones such abhorrent behavior from its employees? Shame on you, Giant!The level of incompetence, disrespect, and outright hostility displayed by this so-called "customer service" representative is nothing short of mind-blowing.Giant, you've truly outdone yourself in plumbing the depths of customer service hell. Bravo!

Drove by this shopping center and needed some groceries. This Giant Food was very spacious and clean. There are many large wall signs around the store for good visibility on various sections. There are quite a few organic food choices. There are self checkouts to avoid contact and save us some time. Upon walking out, there is a PNC bank inside the store.

It irks me every time i come here in the AM to buy something. The lady at the self checkout is unfriendly and cold towards me. She seems to be friendly to other people but she has never been friendly to me, she says thank you to others but to me she doesn't even acknowledge me or even look at me. She seems friendly to white and african americans, but i guess my kind is not to her liking. I have better treatment at Harris Teeter or Food Lion up in the Maple Lawn area. Will mention it to the manager and ask her what is that deal with that lady. The evening staff is much better.

I am really disappointed in this location, it has been twice that they close the store eaelier then actual closing time 11pm.I am a single mother that needed to grab some extra formula because of my child's feeding needs. This is the only grocery store rite next to us and the other Giant on cherry hill Rd had ran out of our specific formula Similac Sensitive orange label. This giant wayched everyone just standing outside not letting anyone inside the store when there was still 15 minutes left until closing. I would have kept banging on the door but my relative member that went to go purchase the formula was the one to be waiting outside & did not want to cause a problem. However as a Single mom I know my rites and I would of banged on the door until I was able to at least get someone's attention & explain my situation. I feel very unfortunate to not feel respected as a resident living in this Burtonsville area.

Dawn at the self checkout is the rudest employee at this location. I personally felt racially profiled by her and she was very condescending. Just overall, a very rude and aggressive miserable person

This rating is specifically related to the pharmacy. The pharmacy is so efficient and handling many customers, that you barely have to wait, and if you do, it’s not for a long period of time. You can always call them, and someone usually answers within 10 to 40 seconds, unlike the CVS around the corner which is a nightmare. Sometimes you wait in line for up to 45 minutes just to get your medication at the CVS and when you try and call them, sometimes you’re on hold for over 45 minutes. In addition, the Giant Pharmacy has these new Medication holders that look like clothes hangers. When you come to pick up your medication, the bag lights up, so they can easily find your medication without having to sift through unorganized boxes of medication. The staff are super friendly, especially Leah. The best part about this Giant Pharmacy, is you can call ahead of time, and they will run your medication out to your car. All you have to do is pull up to the curb and call them about less than a minute before you arrive, and they’ll be out there waiting for you with your medication. I recommend using using cash to purchase your medicine for curbside pick up because if you give them a credit card, they have to go back inside to run it and then come back out again with your medication. If you want it to be more efficient, call them before you arrive and ask them how much your medication is so you can get the exact change. Just let them know you have exact change and they’ll run your medication out immediately and then you’re all set to go!

Amazing ..the fish dept is top notch. Mr. Winton Jordan was pleasant knowlegeable and everything here is clean and pristine. Best Giant ever..well..my Owings Mills Giants are awesone too but for quality ..this one sets the Bar.

Unbelievable. I just had literally the worst experience in a grocery store in my entire 63-year life. The shopping went fine, but when I went to the self-checkout, the "buy one get one free" item got charged, even after I completed the entire shopping order. The so-called 'assistant' could not figure out what was wrong, so she had someone check to verify that the sign for this item was correct. It was, which I thought would be the end of it and they would reverse the extra charge. But no! Then she had to call the supervisor to do some paperwork and correct the problem in their computer - all while I was waiting. But it gets worse. Then she told me the manager would have to come and do the refund transaction. So I had to go up to the front counter while they did more paperwork and figured out how to refund me. Meanwhile, 15 minutes had already gone by and my $100 worth of groceries were melting. But is still gets worse! When they finally figured out how to refund me, I put in my card, and the 'assistant' went off to help 2 other patrons with their problems. So I'm still waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Finally she comes back and says "Oh, I forgot to put your transaction through!" It ended up taking almost 25 minutes for them to resolve the issue - and meanwhile LITERALLY holding me hostage. I will NEVER shop at this store again, and try to avoid all Giant supermarkets as much as possible. I do not like being treated like a criminal when spending my money at their store.

I’ve been shopping at this Giant store for 25 years. I like the large selection of products and the produce section is outstanding for freshness and the careful attention of the staff.Normally a 5 Star place for me I have to go with a poor rating today because I was ignored by the lady at the Seaford counter. I stood patiently for over 5 minutes as she walked back and forth. Guess she had lots of work because she never looked at me. I finally left without my salmon filets.

It clearly says the store closes at 11pm NOT 10pm.. I arrive at 9:50pm and the nasty people at the front door tell me I only have 8min to shop. Very annoying! Fix the hours online!!!!!

I just want to share my experience with this store. I am a vendor and Everytime I go into the store every staff member treats me like family. One staff member saw I needed help today and without even asking 5 minutes later I had a whole crew helping me until the job was finished. I give this store a five star rating. Anthony the store manager is amazing and so is his whole crew of employees. Thanks for putting a smile on my face everyday.

Very clean, pretty and well stocked with lots of merchandise. Pharmacy, medications are ready in 30 minutes! Everybody who works at the pharmacy are super helpful and awesome. They are friendly and very nice. Groceries are great with lots of deals and sales weekly. I really love my Giant.

It is a large store and has everything. Staff is gruff. You will have to dodge restocking carts, always.Expect to wait if you're going to the deli counter.One entire bank of front doors is shut down due to theft concerns and listed as emergency exit only. Limit on check yourself items due to theft concerns.Parking lot is horribly congested.

Service is good. Everyone is nice and helpful but its dirty inside and out now. Yesterday in the produce section there was a broom just laying on the floor. Trash is everywhere in the store, out front and in the parking lot. It's embarrasing as this is my neighborhood store. I have been shopping there for years and see the decline. They have closed the other entrance which is ridiculous to me and also the quality of the food has gone down.

Good selection, but . . . Horribly treated by white cashiers. One intentionally held a extended personal conversation with a customer even though she was done processing her purchase. Today, I was racially profiled by another white employee in self check-out. She moved her monitor position and watched me consistently while I checked out my 5 items (yogurt, crazy glue, and a 50 cent bag of chips). I had on professional clothes and my work badge. I have been an educator in this community for over 20 years. It is shameful that I get treated with such disrespect while trying to get items for students during the workday. The Cherry Hill location is farther from my school but might be worth the trip if they are more respectful.

Go to for all my food needs. They always have fresh products and I am able to find everything I need. The bakery has a lot of good bread and desserts and are good quality. I also like their fresh fish selections. Seems like they are always having a sale on shrimp or salmon. Can't go wrong with the many options.

This Giant does not stay open until it’s posted hour of 11:00pm. Gone twice around 10:30 pm and they were closed. Please update your hours so customers are aware of the correct closing time.

Terrible layout, horrible selection. One of the worst Giants I've shopped. Giant overall seems to desperately need some new executive leadership.Store management in most stores is also a core issue. It doesn't take a lot of retail experience to see the lost revenue potential.For the customer the result is poor selection, poor service, dismal store experiences and less return visits.

The Deli department at this location is understaffed, and as a result, the Staff members who work in this department are overwhelmed. BUT that's still not an excuse to have an unprofessional attitude and not have any regard for your customers.

EDITED 9/10/23: Subtracting one star for having a super distrustful self-checkout system. It monitors to make sure you put items from the scanner into the bagging area, which is super inconvenient if you bring your own bags or have large items you need to put straight into your cart. Trust your customers, especially if you're asking them to do their own bagging.One of the best supermarkets in Montgomery County. Good selection of organic produce, plus another 1.5 aisles of organic products. (You'll find better at Whole Foods, perhaps, but personally I cannot spend my money there.) I've rarely been unable to find what I need here. I've been to multiple Giant and other supermarkets throughout the area, and I go out of my way to come here.

I've been a life-long Giant customer and actually worked as a cashier for Giant at other stores and loved it. I've ordered online twice for pickup at the Burtonsville store and waited the first time for 15 minutes and the second time for 25 minutes. Both times I ordered 20-24lb turkeys, and the first time at least it was close-19lbs., and the second time it was 14.2 lbs., and charged for a 20lb turkey. I didn't even check the first time to see what was charged. I called the customer care line and the lady was not very pleasant. Said she reimbursed my $2.00 and after complaining about the wait said she sent a coupon to my email which I haven't received. I asked them to call if a turkey that size wasn't available as I put no substitutions. They didn't call and didn't inform me of the size change either. Poor communication and service. Won't be doing pickup there for sure. I will say the people are very nice though.Thanks for responding to my review, however contacting that number certainly didn't do much for me the first time, and unfortunately, I doubt calling it again will result in a different outcome .

Burtonsville Giant. Cleaner than most. Fewer shady characters in the parking lot. Cashiers and staff are generally helpful, positive and polite.
