I love this place. It's a family owned store. The vegetables and flowers are so nice. You can tell when someone puts care and love into the plants. No dead leaves or sickly plants. The store and feed barns are clean and organized well. I drive over here even though it's not convenient. The quality of plants makes it worth the trip.

Always have what I need for farm and assorted animals. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Alice is the best!! Sad they closed their Upper Marlboro location, which was much more convenient. I have to use alternative closer store for quick pick ups.

So the company that is actually there is Not Southern States! It another company, and I have forgotten the name already! The cashier and floor person is already aware of all this nonsense. The info on the internet also states that they close at 5:30pm, and I was informed when I arrived that they close at 5:00pm I was informed by the cashier of there real hours. She also said that she thought that was fixed. Won't be going there again!

R&D Cross is a wonderful family owned business. The staff is always helpful and they have a deep knowledge of products and practices. They are well stocked with most garden, feed and farm needs. Also, R&D is a great source of Fabrel metal products for steel buildings, barns, garages and the like. The best thing about this place is that if they don’t have something in stock, they can almost always order it for you, and get it in the store within a few days. They always call you to let you know your order has arrived. That’s great customer service! I always go to R&D Cross before going to Tractor Supply or Lowe’s/Home Depot. It’s so satisfying to support a local, family owned business that has a long tradition of greatness. What a wonderful place!!

Home Depot, Lowe's, etc can not touch them. The professionalism, The Godliness, family atmosphere, country setting, etc, etc, etc!!! Just makes you want to grow something. I went to get a second application of lawn food, now they could have taken my money sold me whatever just to move their product's, but no they suggested that I wait and allow the lawn to grow, cut and then come back. One of them even suggested prayer.. Top notch folks!!!Thank you R&D Cross!!!

Most of the staff are helpful. I called looking for an item and someone automatically said they didnt carry the item without even asking so I called back certain that they did and sure enough they did have what I was looking for. Prices are good as well.

Great customer service, didnt feel like I was being a bother by asking to many questions, was able to find what I needed with the assistance of multiple employees... 1st time there and was able to order what I couldnt find.

My name is Brendan and I recently requested a pallet of kitty litter to be delivered to my resident (40 cats). Upon arrival, Alex made sure to meet my needs. He pet every cat and asked for all 40 of there names. After unloading my kitty litter he made sure that it was in the right spot and neatly stacked. Without Alex my kitties would be making a mess all over my new floor.While in the midst of strapping down the truck and petting every cat on the way out, Alex noticed Alfred (one of my cats) had something stuck in his throat and without hesitation he reached into the truck and pulled out a animal first aid kit. If it wasn't for his bravery and cat expertise my little Alfred would have passed away.In conclusion, I would recommend anyone and everyone to R&D Cross. It is not often you come across young people that are willing to go the extra effort in making sure the customer is happy like Alex did. There friendly staff and quick delivery service makes them the best in SOMD.

They have everything for animals. This place is better then petsmart and Petco. The ppl that work there are so helpful polite and professional. I just cant sat enough good stuff about this establishment.

I go here to get shots for my dogs... So if u can't afford that vet bill... Grab some dewormer and a 10in1 for adult dogs or a 6in1 for pups....If you are not comfortable injecting your animal or do not know how..or where to inject exactly ...please do not attempt at home shots then
