She was so professional and so helpful.I came in here to find work and she made sure I understood how to get something done with it.I really appreciate her approach to her position. Especially understanding I come off in an unusual way at times.Everything was very well kept and the employees and customers are seemed to be in better than usual spirits. It was a pleasurable experience.👍

The Starbucks inside was trying to charge me 25 cents for water in my own cup, with no ice. Literally just water. When I asked what I would be paying for if I brought my own cup and don’t want ice, I was told it’s company policy to only give out a small cup of water….. meanwhile the Safeway itself doesn’t even have a water fountain by the bathroom like most stores. As a matter of fact, I was told they use to have water fountains and actually removed them. I refuse to pay a multimillion dollar company for water. Both Starbucks and Safeway are really denying people our basic human right of drinking water. Pretty frustrating.

Prepared Food and Deli: Yesterday evening on 11/15, I purchased some fried chicken which looked okay and tasty. However, upon arriving home and getting settled for the evening, I sat down to eat. My chicken had a burnt taste to it but it didn't smell burnt. Minutes later because my stomach felt upset as if the chicken was coming back up, I drank a ginger ale which I had on hand. I'm wondering how often is the grease changed or is the vat/fryer thoroughly cleaned between usage? Unfortunately, instead of taking the chicken back, I threw the rest away. I'm hoping and praying others don't have the same experience or get sick. Please check the oil and condition of your fryer! My father was a chef, so I know what I 'm talking about. Overall , the store looked clean and organized while shopping for other items. Sincerely concerned!

The cooked food section I give 100% credit to, the service was excellent the personnel was just as great especially some young man by the name of Maurice I believe he was helpful and kind kudos to him and to your store.

This is a very delightful store. Every week I go the store. They always have what I need and if I can't find what I need. The staff goes out their way to help me find it.

This Safeway used to be really good, but in the last 6 months to a year, I have definitely noticed a reduction in standards. Especially with the deli. I love Safeway brand of lunch meat and Boars Head, but when the staff does not take the time to clean the meat/cheese slicer, it makes you not want to eat it. Piles of old meat crusts under the machine and on the table... gross. Also, they are careless with how they use gloves. Putting on new gloves, going to the back, then coming to the front to slice your meat in the palm of their hand. No wax paper, no nothing. I had to ask the lady to change her glove. Of course she was not happy with that. Anyway, be careful of the deli. The rest of the store seems to be okay

A smaller but best ran safeway I go to. Some of thr kombucha is close to expiration date. Some sales on this item unforunately still some stalking having going on. They sell lots of flowers. The wntire back wall appears to be full of them despite this being Halloween, not easter. They have a Navy Federal and a customer service line and a fairky sizable bakery area. They also sell hot wings of different flavors if youre tired of 7-11. There is also a gas station here... not sure about the gas quality

Safeway is a great place to shop. Excellent produce, an exotic fruits section, delicious moist baked goods, and beautiful flowers. The nighttime crew however is a bit different. Not quite the same good customer service. You're basically in there done until they start announcing that it's closing in 30,15,5 minutes. Only self service lines open. They recently changed their night hours from closing at 12am to 10 and that sucked. Overall.. its my favorite store however!! Love the variety and full shelves. Manager is kind and helpful!

One of the elderly colored women that works in the hot bar and cold bar section near the deli...rubbed me the wrong way. Usually I have no issues with anyone in this store especially there. She must have took out her home issues on me. Next time I see her I may ask what was the issue because I do not like people assuming I'm cheap or poor over some chicken.

Since I've moved to the area, Safeway has become my favorite grocery store. This location is always well stocked, and I love all of the amazing deals and sales. I have saved a lot of money, and the rewards program is amazing!This store is clean and the customer service is great! I highly recommend this location!

On July 26 at 8:10 pm I had a negative experience with supposedly the General Manger/ Shift Manager. This dude with cornrows braids and masked up asked when waiting to make change at Customer Service. I stated I need to break change for a $100. He said he couldn’t and only $20. I ask him for the General Manager or Customer Service representative to break up the $100. He says he is the Manager and customer service is closed. He identified only being able to give me change for a $20. I don’t believe he is the manager. However, he needs to work on his communication skills and customer service if he is indeed the manager. I will utilize the Giant and Shoppers moving forward.

This is the 2nd time I walked out without my purchases. Sun products were clearly marked 1/2 off but I was told there was nothing they could do if it didn’t scan 1/2 off. Go figure!! Won’t shop there anymore. Oh and the manager was off today. 😂

This place has a lot of ingredients that may be hard to find somewhere else. I went to Safeway in hopes that I found imported Greek feta cheese and I wasn’t disappointed.

Absolutely unacceptable rotisserie and fried chicken as well as other hot items are supposed to be available at 10am but never is. The staff is absolutely rude when inquiring about the availability of these items. We have to do better in pg county!

Usually good, but lately all of the produce has been terrible quality (either already moldy or a day from it), and even the canned goods aren't safe. I bought canned tuna that had black flecks inside and just opened a can of corn that smelled like a fish tank. If I can't even trust the canned items, there's no way I'm buying the "fresh" stuff. Sadly I'll be switching stores.

I noticed for the last few years there fruit is sometimes written or very soft. They don't keep there shelves stocked like most Safeway's. The self service registers are never fully functional; sometimes only 1 or 2 is working. Nor sure what happened to the site. It use to be fantastic.

It's sad that I've had to redo this review after almost a year but it can't be helped. The store is constantly littered with carts full of groceries all over, the staff half the time has no idea where things are because Safeway apparently now uses a third party stocking company who rushes in, stocks, then leaves, and getting more than one or two registers opened during primary shopping hours has required me to literally walk into the back to yell at management for the empty registers.Save yourself the headache and find a different grocery. Harris Teeter down the road is pretty reasonable and has good deals, the Giant Food is also reasonably set just don't go after dark, just check your options.I filed several complaints with the corporate complaint line for the store and was told they would be sending people to look into it but faith is low. Grocery stores are a community investment, it's sad to see that they're going cheaper and cheaper on that investment.

This is our preferred grocery store even though others are closer. It's always clean, well organized and stocked, and usually doesn't have excessively long lines. I'm particularly thrilled with the sense that management is actively investing in the long term health of the business that comes from seeing substantive updates like the replacement of many of the glass coolers in the produce and deli areas with brand new high quality fold out doors.

I rarely go to this store, but it was on my way home. This evening, the staff were unfriendly. I don't know that this is the norm. The young girl at self checkout was on her cell phone, unaware of the needs of her customers. The fruits and veggies looked scattered, almost with some fruits completely empty. That is the norm. This store is never plentiful with their selection of fruits and veggies....one of the reasons I don't go.

Worst service, only one lane open for checkout. Plenty of workers standing around and only one lane open ? Worst store manager in history. Its a shame black people are treated this way. In other areas , there are 3-4 check out lanes open especially during after work hours when most people pick up food after work. What kind of store has only self checkout? Fire the store manager immediately, she is incompetent. She is running the store in the ground. Her excuses are old and pathetic. Fire her and hire 2-3 people for checkout lanes.

Seldom have any regular checkout lanes open and if so it is usually one or two. Self check-out is an option but don't mess up. Help service is slow. The advantage of this Safeway is the gasoline station on site but they never have windshield cleaning equipment and most of the trash bins are filled to overflowing.

This is the store to shoplift from. I saw the incident first hand. They swept the products off the shelves like butter. The employees didn’t flinch. It was really a sad sight to see. Especially @ 0815 Sunday morning. But this is the place to spend your money. NOT !!!

My favorite Safeway in the area I live in DC but drive all the way to Bowie to this location just to grocery shop. Everything is always fresh.....clean and stocked. They have a better selection of items than any other location. Staff is so welcoming and friendly. I have been coming here since 2014.

It's hard to write a review for a grocery store because every time you go there things have changed, you see new faces, and sometimes they don't have the things that you want. In general this grocery store is okay. It has fresh food when they have it and customer service is sometimes great sometimes not. 🤷🏾‍♀️

This is the worse Safeway I've been too. Never more than two cashier's, and always long lines. Pretty expensive compared to other grocery stores. This store is located near expensive homes but the food offered is nothing special. The staff is not at all user friendly. They could care less if you have a problem. One time I was there price rang up wrong. When I told the cashier this was incorrect she just attempted to call management or someone who didn't pick up. After seeing people on line behind me I said forget it. This isn't the only time by the way.
