This was our first visit and we were very happy to have stopped in! My wife got a gelati (soft serve and ice in layers), I got a milkshake, and my daughter got a chocolate/vanilla twist cone. We all loved what we got, and I'm excited to come back and try some of the ice flavors. Oh, and the woman at the register was so friendly and patient with my exuberant daughter who had lots to say about her love of rainbow sprinkles. 😂Edit: Third visit, got the ginger ice flavor. Absolutely exceptional. I can't believe how excellent it was. It had bits of real ginger in it! This place is becoming a weekly staple for our family.

Best ice cream in town hands down! i tried this place for the first time after leaving the trail and it was a well needed tasty treat, definitely cooled me down :) 10/10 recommend

Decent prices. Awesome customer service. It was my first experience & I had a question about which flavor to try & the cashier let me sample the flavor before making my final decision. The mojito with soft serve was great and had me contemplating if I wanted to get out of the car for a 2nd one before leaving. My bf got JUMBO egg custard & loved it as well

Hit the spot after a hot day exploring on the water in Lake Roland. Huge menu of flavor options for shaved ice which is super fine, not like the big chucks in snowballs. Watermelon and Raspberry were both very good - flavorful without being too sweet and no artificial aftertaste. Also soft serve ice cream “gelati”, root beer floats, cones, etc. Quick, pleasant service.

Happily, there was no line in the early afternoon after a hike in Lake Roland. But it was a hot day and the Italian ice and smoothie that my wife and I bought were perfect to cool down. Service has always been pleasant when I've gone to Tropicool.

I’ve gone to this place several times. Too many to count at this point and this is the ONLY Picture I could find😂😂 I guess you’ll just have to take my word when I say this place is Gold! The ladies and gents working the window are also so kind!!! This is definitely a gem. I would recommend with soft serve on the top. It’s sooooooo gooooooddddd!!!!

Water ice is ok; Prices are cheap. Have been here multiple times. Be aware that the customer isn’t always right.Came here today, ordered from a young employee, paid in cash and was a little surprised at my change. I asked the older lady now at the window (the owner and not the girl I ordered from) if the change was correct. She barked at me loud enough for everyone to hear “yes” like I was trying to rip them off. I just didn’t understand how $4 + $5 + tax resulted in $7.32 change from a $20.It turned out I’m not terrible at simple math and Maryland doesn’t have a new 50% food tax- We just didn’t get what I ordered (in that my daughter’s small water ice was wrung up as a larger size). Rather than complain again, we left and I ended up throwing must of her water ice away because it was too much for her. I had even tipped. The reason I’m writing this review is I know mistakes happen, but she didn’t need to make me look like a scammer for their error. She could have just asked me what I had ordered rather than assumed I was wrong.

Tropicool is a must-visit, their treats are delicious! The ice is flavorful, and you can tell it is homemade! I would recommend that everyone stops by if they get the chance!

I wish I had realized sooner that this place has much more than just snow cones. They have very good milkshakes in a variety of flavors and soft-serve also!

I really like this little shop. Everyone is friendly and really efficient.It's a great place for old-school soft serve ice cream. It's not too expensive.This is the only ice cream place in which I routinely walk 10.2 miles round trip on foot in order to get soft serve. Just saying.

I've been going here since they first opened when I was in high school 2 decades ago. Similar to Rita's, but much better. Tied with the Cow for best soft serve in Baltimore. Lydia the owner is super friendly and so is the rest of the staff. Highly recommended

The older lady working was just terrible. My sister got a limeade and she wanted sugar added to it after they made it and the lady gave us such mean attitude and wouldn't remake it. She flipped us off and followed us to to the parking lot to yell at us. Horrible service and never eating there again. I wouldn't even rate this any stars if it allowed me to rate none.

Perfect treat after a walk at Lake Roland! Service was quick and prices were reasonable. The Italian ice was so smooth and tasty. The coconut flavor had real bits of coconut in it!

Their italian ice is so smooth and delicious! Flavors are great and service is too. The perfect place to go on a spring or summer day, rain or shine! And when I say that the ice is smooth, it's literally like snow! Which is an oodly satisfying feeling I love on my teeth.

Best in the Baltimore area! Not the crunchy snowballs; this is smooth icy goodness. There is s huge range of flavors plus staff is always super nice. Bonus: they take Covid precautions very seriously.

Went after going on a nearby hike. Flavors were amazing and lots of choices! Prices very reasonable. My favorite was the mojito flavor! Would definitely drive the 20 minutes back there to go again

Ordered a small soft serve for my daughter (5) and a small ice for my son (2) and the size and price was about perfect. Nice selection of ice flavors without being overwhelmed. I had a large mojito gelati which felt a little pricey and the mojito was more like than mint but tasty nonetheless.

Great location - go for a walk at lake roland and then enjoy a tasty treat. The chocolate ice is amazing, tastes like hot fudge with little chunks of chocolate. Good selection of flavors too.

Superb customer experience when we went, the icetenders were all full of contagious energy and made the whole thing a positive interaction. Even though it's easy to miss while driving, I would definitely go back and would recommend anyone to go check them out as well.

Have been going to this place for several summers because they have sugar free ices. Went there today and the ice I got was terrible. It had no flavor and looked like it was about 2 years old- the ice crystals were even turning white. When I returned the product, I was told too bad, they could give me a sugar ice (not an option ) but could not refund my money. The ice was so bad, I left a jumbo size with them having taken only 2 bites.I will not be going here ever again. The drink was absolutely horrible and had no flavor at all. To top it off, the little girl that worked there was very rude.

The ice cream was good. However, the employee who took our order was very rude.She first yelled at my 80 year old grandmother because she had a cigarette in her hand toward the end of the deck. She screamed out the window "CAN'T YOU READ A SIGN!! AND ITS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW!!" . There are a thousand more polite ways of telling a customer no smoking on the deck.My grandmother walked away embarrassed and other customers came by to us to say how rude that woman was to us.I also looked around the deck and saw no sign that she claimed to be there.She then had a attitude when she finally took my order and overall this was NOT a good first time experience.I'm really hoping this was an off day for her and that she doesn't treat all her customers this way.I will be not be back.

The best egg custard ever!!!! & its homemade. This is true Italian ice. I bought a large and took the rest home and froze it. I was pleasantly surprised to find it smooth as the day I purchased it.

Very nasty and belligerent woman waited on me today. Yelled at me to stay behind some line on the deck and not approach the counter!!! Fine. Your attitude just made me resolve to never patronize you again. And the peach ice was obviously chemically flavored and tasted like soap. I DO NOT recommend this place!!!

Greatest Italian ice and gelottis ever. All flavors handmade right there. Huge selection of flavors. Pieces of real fruit, chocolate, coconut, etc, in the ice. Great service and prices.
