This place has a large selection of fresh fish of all sizes with all items needed for tank care and setup. They also have reptiles such as lizards, snakes and turtles. With an addition to birds and small furry animals. In addition to the animals this place and an amazing assortment of taxidermy on the walls and the back area.I will definitely return due to the helpful nature of the staff.

This place is the bomb! I live a half hour away and still come here for my snakes food. They are super friendly and helpful! Whenever I bring my 7 year old son they ask if he wants to hold something. The last time, he held pinkies. He loved it! Plus, the array of fish and animals they have is beautiful! I’ve never been disappointed there.

Based on a small independent business.Quality of products 👍🏻Variety of products 👍🏻Variety of animals 👍🏻They have everything from 🐟 🐠 🐍 🐇 🐢 🐁🐦🦎🐸🐊🦗🕷 anything you need!Customer service is what truly makes this shop one of a kind. I have never entered and not been greeted or asked if I needed help. Unfortunately I purchased a bunny from them that ended up passing away a year later from an issue EXTREMELY common with rabbits. Nothing I did, nothing they did or wrong with the litter. Just nature. Since I purchased the rabbit there and the owner ( the blond hair lady) is so kind hearted.. she gave me a SIGNIFICANT discount on the bunny I bought in plane of the one I just lost. I didn't truly have the money at the time but seeing my pain and my 7yr old daughter's broken heart, she blessed us with the discount that made it possible to fill our hearts with fuzzy bunny love again.Hands down love this shop.Only recommendation, if I have to find something, is the products are a bitttt pricey if you compare to other shops or online. But hey you pay that extra dollar for the convenience and kindness. 5 stars 🌟 🤩 ✨️

I recently purchased 100 neon tetras from Tom. Tom personally hand picked my 100 fish and gave me a HUGE bulk discount (70%)!I only keep fish so I cannot comment on the animals in his shop.I’m a pleco and schooling fish guy and Tom has and can get you whatever you want as long as you communicate with him!I’d definitely recommend Tom’s if you’re a fish lover like myself!

DO NOT BUY ANIMALS FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! The care for these animals is just disgusting! Me & my husband go in cause I love seeing the bunnies…well as soon as I walk in the door I see this sick Rex rabbit in the corner hardly breathing. His belly was distended ears were cold & just lethargic. I said something to the lady saying she/he doesn’t look good & told her his ears were cold to the touch. Rabbits ears are not supposed to be cold unless they are sick it’s obvious that there was something wrong. She continued to look at him & just pick him up like he was a dead animal & looks at it said “nope he’s fine”. She probably would have thrown it back in the cage if I didn’t ask to hold it. I’ll never support a place like this that doesn’t take care of its own animals. Not to mention paying $70 for one. Absolute insane no rabbit is worth that price especially for a sick little guy like that one! I hope this place closes down soon cause it needs better care of all the animals.

I have come here many times in the past, gotten fish in the past without issue. It’s been over a year since I’ve been in and something’s clearly wrong. A lot of empty tanks, a lot of long hair algae, and most distressing a lot of dead fish. I ended up just leaving and stopped looking in tanks. It was just too sad.

This place is a smaller, more intimate version of The House Of Tropicals located in Glen Burnie. The owner’s sister often runs the register. The owner, Tom, is grumpy. If you ask Tom a question, he will quickly direct you to a staff member. Other than Tom, I have always found the staff here friendly and accommodating. While off limits, the walls of taxidermy here are simply mesmerizing.Tom’s dependably stocks the crickets and small rats that I need to feed my lizards. Like House of Tropicals, the supply of rats usually runs dry by Monday, since the fresh supply arrives on Thursdays. Lastly, I always enjoy playing with the rabbits at the front of the store while waiting for my order. The rabbits and guinea pigs look very healthy.

i bought a snake from them it had mites and passed away because of them. i’ve never had issues with reptiles in the past so the mites came from the store. the snake also wasn’t in the best condition. can’t return because i traveled to even go to the store. not worth it the animals are not taken care of.

We were buying 2 glo-fish for my 4 year old son and asked the employee for ideas on how to keep the tank clean. She advised to get a bottom feeder and snail. 8 days later the bottom feeder died. I came to buy another one to replace it and was told that they eat different food and not fish food, which I wasn’t told (the employee also told me he wouldn’t have starved within that timeframe so not sure what killed him). After 7 days, my replacement bottom feeder died even with the correct food. One of the initial glo-fish died as well within the first two weeks. Not happy as the bottom feeders are $12 a piece and they have no warranty. We take care of our fish and have had other fish for months with no problems.

This place has the coolest stuffed animals and aquatic life, reptiles and some mammals (mice, rats, rabbits). We came home with an aquarium eel, but our other favorite fish there are the piranhas and angel fish.

Terrible pet store! They should be ashamed on how they “care” for their animals! This poor guy is practically dead! Do not support their business because they’ll just keep neglecting their animals! All the animals share small cages! They should be ashamed of themselves. I’ve already reported them to the local humane society!

Tom's is a great pet store for a variety of things. They have fish, snakes, guinea pigs, turtles, and more. Do not go here expecting to find cats or dogs though. I typically buy rats to feed my snake and toys/scenery for her tank.

Family-owned and operated with great advice and great selection! Go here instead of any big box pet store with a tropical fish section.

Purchased an Apricot Hondurian Milk Snake and they provided me with general information as it was my first-ever snake to buy. Two weeks later my snake is happy in its enclosure and comfortable with the decorations Tom's Tropicals had provided in the store! I am now more interested in snakes and reptiles and will be sure to come back and recommend to friends!!!!

Looks & smells like your typical ma & pa pet store. I like that feeling. Lots of assortment of critters & tons of supplies, including discontinued items! A lot if their stuff is in my opion double what it should be. $16 for a Green Anole or $100 for a baby corn snake. Usually greens go for $3-$7 and normal corns ~$20.

Pretty cool store. My nephews enjoyed looking at the animals. They had a good variety from snakes, lizards, fish, spiders, rabbits, and much more. They had good prices and nice sales. We plan on going back soon.

Well first off as soon as I'm walk in the place smells! The animals look horrible! The elderly lady has to respect when she communicates with people. I gave this place 3 chances. She always is demeaning to customers. The sweet girl young girl that works there is talked to horribly and degraded in front of customers if she ask the elderly lady a question.I was there today a gentleman was buy a good size black fish. Well she gets the fish out, leaves it unattended , it falls to the floor flopping around- then picks it up puts it in a bag and sells it to him. Wth? I guess if you don't treat your animals properly why would I'd assume she treat humans any better. I will never return. I'd drive 5 hrs before I enter her store ever again! Disgusting!

Poor animal conditions this only some of them some the animals are coughing they were fighting for space cause they where in ten gal tanks the Rodents they had like 20 mice and a 10 gallon tank and they were fighting because they had no room and barely any bedding or food please do not support animal abuse

Absolutely disgusting conditions for the birds. Filthy water, and overcrowded cage. I asked the woman at the desk about it, and she told me that they were only in there temporarily, and that they clean the cages. I was polite and said that I just thought it seemed a bit small. I was walking around with my boyfriend who has actually been a loyal customer for years, and she decided to come pick a fight with me in front of at least 7 other customers some 10 minutes later. She said "Yeah, I cleaned the water this morning." I said "There's no way. It was filthy." And she continued to argue with me over the conditions. She then told me to "take a look at the mice" ??? "and see that they had food." I told her that this was about the birds in terrible conditions. She just told me that she "knew what she was doing" and that I should leave it alone. She stormed away. I left right after that.Oh yeah, also when I first went in, I talked to one of the younger women and told her that the water needed to be changed and she said "Oh yeah, we've been meaning to do that" So clearly the other woman was lying and made a scene in front of all the other customers for no reason.Needless to say that my boyfriend and I will never be going back. I guess they see birds as nothing more than a money making tool. Extremely sad.

I went there today to buy some fish for my new tank. Was helped by a young girl. She introduced herself right away as Bailey. She was very patient and great with my two little kids, she even let my 4 year old son “help” her scoop out a fish. A great experience overall and will be going back!

I purchased a betta fish. I inspected the fish looking for signs of illness before purchase. At home My poor betta has inflamed gills, clamped fins, pale color. I waiting for him to expire, I do not think he will heal and become healthy.
