We just went to Scrub-A-Dub Dog today for the first time. Our dog is a chow chow shar-pei mix who has high grooming needs as well as being high anxiety. After going to another Baltimore groomer for 3 months after we moved here I noticed that her fur was becoming very matted especially around her chest and tummy. Turns out the other groomer wasn’t brushing out her under coat AT ALL. Phoebe was full of mats that I was unable to comb out myself. Scrub A Dub Dog took the time to brush out ALL of those months of mats and helped us to identify hot spots on her skin from the mats that need to be kept a close eye on until they heal. SADD was up front about the wounds on her skin that he uncovered by de-matting her and guided us to see the vet to make sure they don’t get infected.If your dog needs grooming for their health, please do not opt for the cheaper option in town. You want someone who knows their stuff and will take care of your dog like their own. You want to take your dog to Scrub A Dub Dog.Thank you so much, we will be back. It is well worth the drive. Happy customer! He can see again.Edit- came back two months later with a new, strange request. I wanted my doodle cut in the Miami poodle cut. They were understandably a little concerned that we were sure what we wanted, but after a lot of clarification they totally knocked it out of the park. This is exactly what we asked for and we are so happy with his absurd, fancy, and ridiculous little hairdo.

So Cooper Norris has been coming here for several visits now, we have been to a few groomers never completely happy until now. We love it here, Cooper is a hairy golden boy, and they do the best job by far! Cathie Norris, Coopers mom! They are Really Good with dogs! My dog Beauty, was So Happy just going in their door! Her whole body and tail WAGGING! I dropped her off at 3, she was done at 5p. Fur so Soft and Smelling Good! Ears cleaned! No nails yet. $30. There is no Tip line on their charge slip. You have to tip cash, or tell them Before they run your card. SO WORTH IT! Beauty was Happy There. And I am Happy that my dog was Happy! HIGHLY recommended! There is a doggie day care next door that I will use for playdates! Good prices!

I’ve taken my dog here twice. The first time I was overwhelmed with how well he cut my hair. I reached out to the owner after the fact to mention how much I loved it. The second time I noticed there was someone else cutting with him as well in the shop.I spoke with the owner about the cut and when I got to my dog it was nothing of what I mentioned or the first cut. Not only to mention the hair cut my dog got the second go round was meant for like a golden doodle or something.When I say the second cut was NOTHING LIKE WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!Multiple people after the fact have asked.. “where did you take him and why they cut him like that”All I’m saying is if you take your dog here the owner can cut great. But outside of that…

Love this place. I drive an hour to take my two dogs, a cockapoo and a mixed german shepherd. They always look fabulous and are never stressed...and that makes us happy! They are the best!!!Update- after giving them my business for several years, they dumped us...well just the big girl but little girl was not going if her sister was banned! They did this without warning...telling us our big old girl barked too much! She's a dog, an old scared dog. Fortunately, we found Amanda's Waggin Tails who loves our big 13 year old girl and always tells us she was great! And she charges us almost half of what we paid at scrub a dub dog.

My dogs were groomed here for the first time today and I have nothing but good things to say. The man that helped me listened to my requests, was very patient, kind and understanding after I was running late to pick my dogs up after their groom. I like that the dogs also get to play with other dogs while they wait to be groomed rather than wait for hours in cages. They make sure your dogs get along with other dogs before allowing this which is comforting! Even though it is a bit far for me to get to this groomer I will be back because of the exceptional job they did.

I took my dog for the first time and he got one of the best haircuts I’ve seen on him! The process of drop off and pick up is so easy and I feel the prices are totally fair! Definitely will be bringing my other dog!

I have a very skittish dog who has never let me or anyone else cut her nails. Previously, we have had to slip her a Trazadone and take her to the vet so 3 vet techs could collectively pin her down to cut her nails. She is a highly resistant, strong and escape-artist dog. Phil of Scrub-a-Dub dog was able to cut all her nails in under 10 minutes. Watching the nail trimming was incredible. He tucked my dog under his arm with quiet confidence. I felt like I was watching a wizard at a rodeo. We will DEFINITELY be back. We tipped 100% for Phil's service and I still don't feel like it was enough. Such a great place for skittish dogs. We are beyond impressed!

We have had a great experience with this groomer. Usually have to wait a while for an appointment, but that's because they are competitive, offer good quality, are efficient, and sometimes flexible. Couldn't recommend any other around Baltimore area.

I called Scrub-A-Dub Dog this weekend because we adopted a shelter dog and he was very afraid of the hose when we went to bath him. The man I talked to on the phone said he didn't have any openings but was very nice on the phone and gave me suggestions. He called the next day to let me know he had a cancellation. The atmosphere was nice at drop-off and the dogs looked happy. When I picked up my dog he was very clean, I don't know how he did it! I am very happy with the results and will be booking another appointment!

My cocker spaniel puppy got his very first groom here today. I was unsure as to how he'd do, but they did an excellent job at making him look and feel comfortable. He came home happy and looking super cute. Highly recommend.

First of all I want to say that the owner Phil is a great guy and seems to have a real love for dogs. He's always friendly and welcoming when I take my dog there. I've been taking her there for a few years now and for the most part I'm always satisfied with the job that they do. I highly recommend this place! 👍👍

I absolutely respect that he called me back to immediately resolve this minor misunderstanding . They do an excellent groom job . I give them five stars for grooming. My pup always looks fabulous. Hands down the best experience today! 1st the grooming took only a few hours. 2nd when I came our baby was mingling with the other pups and didn’t even realize I was there until I called her name! Very friendly. Very affordable! They let the dogs roam free while there and did a great job with our husky. A bath and a blowout, her nails trimmed and cleaned and her pads smoothed. She was very pleased. She smells and looks wonderful!

I have a 7 year old poodle mix who is bitey and anxious. He generally isn't even allowed around houseguests because he's so unpredictable, yet he lets everyone at Scrub A Dub Dog handle him with no problems at all. They have such a way of making the dogs feel at ease, and my dog actually loves going there and getting groomed. They do an amazing job here and it's great value for the product!

I used to use the self-service tubs at PetValu for my dog, but they have since closed permanently. My dog is older, and historically has not done well at grooming salons, so I prefer to bathe him myself. I called Scrub-A-Dub Dog on a Saturday morning to ask about the self-serve tubs; the owner was very accommodating, and I was able to come in later the same day. The facilities were clean and well stocked, and everyone was friendly and attentive. Excellent experience - so glad I found this place!

I've been bringing my 2 dogs to Scrub-a-dub Dog for 6 years and I bring all my foster dogs too. BEST BEST BEST grooming. My pups get load of compliments just walking down the street. I've had skittish fosters, bitting fosters, and the dirtiest ever fosters and the groomers here are all dog whisperers because the dogs have all been wonderful under their care.

I decided to arrive a few minutes before the groomers were done with my dog, to see how they handle the animals people trust them with. I waited outside the establishment and I had a clear view through their window of one of the groomers finishing up with my dog. While I did not see the groomer causing and physical harm, I was very surprised by the way they were handling my dog. I saw her becoming physically irritated with my dog, pulling her ears back, grabbing her head to hold her still. I am not a professional animal groomer, so perhaps these are techniques that are normally taught, but I do not think that it should be done so rushed and forcefully. On more than one occasion I saw the groomer become agitated and grab my dog and say “Stop!” with a raised voice, resulting in my dog looking as if she wanted to escape. That is the number one reason why I am giving a one-star review. Because the hair cut was nicely done and the nail clippings was sub-par (some of the nails were obviously chipped), but it is not professional to use such an aggressive tone with an animal that does not belong to you. Add that with the forceful handling, pushing my dogs rear down to make her sit, grabbing her by the neck to keep her still, that is not acceptable for an animal care worker. My dog is a rescue dog, who has suffered more than I can imagine before I met her, and she does not need to be around strangers, yelling words she can’t understand at her. She’s a dog, she doesn’t know what “Stop” means, and all she can hear is the angry tone. I watched this from outside their establishment. I could see and hear everything clearly. I do not intend on bringing my dog back to Scrub-a-Dub Dog.Edited update: I spoke with Phil, the manager, on the phone. Receiving a phone call was greatly appreciated, and shows that Scrub-a-Dub Dog obviously values their customers. He explained that this is not standard behavior and while it is not excusable, the irritated tone of the employee was a special occasion that I unfortunately happened to witness. I thanked him for his call and checking in. I think it’s important to remember that we all have our struggles and stresses but it’s no reason to take it out on others especially animals, and especially customers. I know that things would be different if they knew they were being observed so always be mindful of what you’re doing.
