I bought an electric lawnmower here yesterday, and Chris was extremely helpful with the sale. Unfortunately, after a short mow, this lawnmower didn’t work out for me and I needed to return it (it was way too hard for me to push). Chris very nicely suggested that I consider the self-propelled one, but I declined and he processed my refund. I love this store but it’s really great employees like this person who keep me coming back.

Thankful for Ace. Great customer service. Cute cat. We were nearby staying on our boat. They had everything we needed for the boat. I purchased an amaryllis bulb the first week of November. It has traveled down the Chesapeake Bay and south in the ICW to Florida. It is my only Christmas decoration on the boat. Check out the blooms.

Like other commenters, I came in focused on looking for an item and instead of immediately responding to a greeting from the manager, Chris, I asked where the item was.Not only did he respond with a rude attitude while repeating the greeting, after I said sorry and returned it he tries to shove his way past me before I could ask again where the item wasHe didn't know. It's a small store. Your managers should know where things are. I absolutely made a scene when i asked for a manager and Chris was the one that showed up and denied he had an attitude. Dude needs an arrogance check and a non-customer-facing job if he's been doing this to multiple customers. This store has a higher price point and only benefits from location convenience since the other major retailers are all outside the city. Definitely not returning after today's experience, which is unfortunate as I've been several time the last few months as I work on a local project. I was in a hurry as I had a bucket up mixed thinset drying. If he wants people to be more considerate of his overinflated sense of self-worth, maybe he should be more considerate of what circumstances may bring others into the store.

Great local hardware store with a truly small town hardware store feel. Always greeted with a welcome and offer of assistance. They have a bit of everything, although prices may be a bit more than the big name stores you can't beat the convenience and friendliness. And if you're lucky you'll get to meet Dapper, the boss of Ace Canton.

I didn't think to introduce myself before asking an associate where an item was and got a slightly rude response. It was MILDLY UNPLEASANT. I told him hi before asking for an item the next time and was kindly directed to the right place. Life is wonderful and human social interactions can occasionally be pleasurable experiences.

This is the absolutely best hardware store! They are super nice, it is employee owned, and they are super helpful. I am happy to go there and receive great service in a convenient location!

This one star is for my visit on 9/17/2023 for curbside pickup. I have had positive experiences during my other visits to the store. I hate to give a one star review but I would give zero starts if I could. I parked near the entrance (directly across), as I have done on multiple occasions when picking up a curbside order. It has never been an issue before. I never knew it was okay to park directly in front. Seems rude and I believer there are signs for no parking. I called the store to let them know I had a curbside order. I was not asked any information regarding the car I was driving or where I was parked. Since it has never been a problem in the past, I didn't think anything of it. I waited patiently for some time, then I locked eyes with an employee who was at the door with my order. She came over with a HUGE nasty attitude. Saying that someone had came out before and why didn't I say anything. I didn't see anyone. Who knows, maybe I took my eyes off the door for a small period of time. I was not feeling well and recently had surgery. I explained to her that I didn't see anyone. She walked off in a huff, stating that well...you wanted curbside and should have been paying attention. She also rudely said a few other things as she was walking off. An older gentlemen with her told me to park directly in front of the store for curbside. Okay, will do for next time. There are no instructions regarding curbside. I had just picked up orders from two Home Depots, Safeway, Harris Teeter and Target. I had positive experiences from all. I have never been treated with such disrespect from a store employee in my recollection. It left me with such a horrible taste in my mouth. I don't know what made her feel as though she could speak to me as if I was the dirt on her shoe. If this is not normal behavior for this individual, then I have to assume that because I am black, she felt as though she could talk to me that way. It left me with such a horrible feeling for a while. I was not rude or disrespectful to her. She barely let me talk. I truly hope that this never happens to anyone else. It is beyond unacceptable. Low and behold I left the Canton Ace, went to the Federal Hill Ace for curbside and had zero issues and great customer service. Of course this is not indicative of all employees, however an employee witnessed this and gave me the impression that this behavior was okay.

Canton ace hardware is great! Dapper is the main attraction of course, but the rest of the store is great too. Their selection of tools is very good and the employees are quite helpful. The only negative is I often lose my partner in their vast plant section and have to track her down. Despite that I find myself continuing to come back almost every week.

All-around great experience! Shavon at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly for each of my visits. Very clean store, easy-to-navigate layout, awesome staff, playful & adorable cat (Stanley), and great prices. They've got it all.If you're in need of anything hardware related or just want to quickly restore your faith in humanity and be reassured there are still wonderful folks out there, stop in!!

Today I visited the Ace Hardware in Canton (Baltimore City) and I had an absolute first rate experience.I was in a hurry walking in, and I was immediately greeted by a gentleman who asked if I needed anything specific. He then took me to the section for the item I needed, helped me find the right item in the aisle, and then walked me back to the register to check out.I was in and out of that store in only a few minutes, but the quality of that experience will certainly bring me back more in the future for bigger purchases.I am very grateful to have received such professional and efficient customer service.Sending my thanks to the person who helped me today at Canton Ace Hardware.

Very helpful place, I was in need of a fish tape and the guy at the front obviously didn’t know what I meant because he said you need tape for a fish???? I was able to educate him on what a fish tape was and they brought it up to the front for me to quickly pick up and check out. Highly recommend this place.

What a great store! I ordered replacement wiper blades online and I assumed that both were the same size. (Admittedly, if I had looked at my car, I'd have seen the difference!) When I picked up my online order, the guy asked if I was sure that I didn't need two different sizes. Well, when I actually looked, I did. I reordered, returned one of the long ones, and the store was so easy to deal with. I wasn't made to feel stupid at all! LOL, I should have looked more carefully. I love having Ace Hardware in the neighborhood!.

Friendly and helpful staff. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted and asked if I need help finding something.And if you ask for help, they're actually glad to help you. Not like a lot of places that ask and then act annoyed that you need help.They're always willing to point you in the right direction or even give you in-depth assistance depending on what you need.Prices are super reasonable and can't urge you enough to support them. After years of living in areas with Home Depots and similarly horrible places, this is a breath of fresh air!

This was my 1st. time in this hardware, I was really impressed. I had such difficulty finding replacement bulbs for my candlestick Christmas window display. This young man came from behind the counter & directed me to the right aisle & happily I found them. He was so kind to inform me if they didn't fit I could return them. I'm so thankful they were the right size. Home Depot & Lowe's are good stores, but I still love the neighborhood hardware stores.

If 6 stars was possible to give, I’d be upset I can’t give 7. This store has the best customer experiences I’ve had. Experienced and extremely kind staff always takes care of you, and they’ve made this Ace truly a neighborhood store that you feel a belonging to whether it’s your first or nineteenth visit. Hope they keep it up!

Love this place. More expensive than online or big box stores, but can't beat their convenience and the folks here are so nice and always helpful.They let you bring your dogs! and the house cat is very dog friendly. My pup and their cat have a friendship.Pro Tip: on the back of your safeway receipt there is almost ALWAYS a coupon for ace hardware.

Always pleased by the level of customer service at this Ace location. Definitely the "helpful place" with "friendly hardware folk." Which is good, because one needs something extra when paying convenience store prices at times. The place has a great selection. It really is like a compact Home Depot or Lowes. One oddity about this location is that it is adjacent to a dog kennel/hotel, so when it is feeding or walking time, you will hear a whole lot of barking.

Amazing service. I called to ask if they had the product I needed the gentleman on the phone was very kind. Waited less than 2 minutes for him to come back to the phone. When I got to the store the young lady at the counter was wonderful! Clean store, great prices and kind staff. Best trip I've ever made to a hardware store. Ace was so great I have no reason to go to get lost in another big hardware store ever again.

As a lady, I cant ask for more than that in a hardware store 😁 also love that they have dish soap and household supplies so I can do a one stop shop for everything! And lots of organic and natural items too

I needed to replace the bolts on my bike from my previous purchase at this location (those sales people were much nicer) I show the sales person what I'm looking for & he starts making excuses why he can't help me.Then he just walks away saying he doesn't have time they're about to close.I look at my phone & it's not even 7:30.Update: I went back today, lucky for me Jerry was there.That man is beyond awesome.He not only remembered exactly what I needed, but remembered the details of why I need it.

They literally have everything! I needed to replace our door sweep and the gentleman who helped me was efficient in showing me where I everything I would need was located. I then spent another 30 minutes just looking at all the stuff they had and was amazed at the organization/cleanliness of the store! Definitely coming back here over Home Depot.

Most times I have been to the Ace Hardware in Canton the staff are very nice and helpful, especially the younger girl who often works behind the register (and Dapper the cat of course). Unfortunately, the last two times I have been to this store some associates were very rude. Last week I had to run in to grab just 1 (one) bag of potting soil— the store closed in about 10 minutes so I quickly walked to the back to get the soil. One associate, Johnathan, was quick to let me know “we close in 5 minutes.” I have worked retail, so I understand the annoyance but I quickly grabbed the one item I needed. Johnathan followed me around the store staring, in a way to push me to get my item and leave. I was rushing anyway, so it just felt rude and I was out of the store by 7:55 anyway. Today I had to check out with Mark, who might have been the grumpiest cashier I have ever encountered at any store before. Very rude and condescending, I hope to avoid his register at all costs the next time I come in.

Wonderful local hardware shop with good selection of useful things: screws, screens, hand tools, garden supplies, kitchen faucets, door knobs, drill bits, keys, canning supplies, work gloves, light bulbs, painting supplies, weather stripping, mail boxes, flashlights...you get the picture. A great neighborhood business. Amazing customer service on the phone and in person. If they don't have what you need, they can often order it and have it within a few days. Considerg going here rather than one of the big box hardware store.

Great selection of plants and merchandise in Canton. My go to place when I'm at Anchorage Marina. Love the store cats .
