Pretty cool art supply store with fair prices. Nice to have helpful staff who are into art and knowledgeable. I love the artsy, counterculture decor both inside and out. Everything Michael's is not. There's a small discount for educators. Parking is down exterior stairs to the right of the entrance leading down the hill to a small parking lot under the bridge. I parked on the street around the corner.

Lovely & helpful staff. Barbie & I enjoyed browsing and looking at the beautifully organized supplies. Things seemed a bit pricy but I didn’t get the opportunity to compare it to anything else. I did think $4 was expensive for thumbtacks. The store is on a busy corner. They seem to have parking but I’m not sure how to access it as I do not drive. One of my favorite art stores. I have been going here since my college days. They have lots of great items. Plus the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Parking can be tricky. They have a parking lot underneath the store with a set of long stairs that gets you to the store.

I’m giving a 5star because I love this store(s) the customer service is always great and the selection is fantastic. With all that said please be mindful to check your Products prior to leavingI purchased 9 shoe paints and 6 of them were old becoming Chunky in texture or a few days from it. (Requiring another trip😅 ).It happens but with that large of a selection of spoiled paint I hope the staff can check them prior to putting them on the shelf 😅 (and checking them periodically)Back to the love ❤️ for this store

A&C Supply is in a great location, which guarantees free parking in the middle of the city, and has more square feet of space than any other arts/craft shop in the city. That alone would be enough, but they also stock the thousands of square feet with supplies! They can arm you for probably any arts & crafts project you need tools or supplies for. I defy you to name an art project you're involved with or a craft you need to feed and test them. Be it painting, sculpting, welding, knitting... They even have an entire floor mostly dedicated to paper! The place is stunning, and it's staffed with helpful folk who are artists and/or craftspeople. There's always someone who can help. And most of them have been there for years. It's comfy.

This is the BIGGEST art store I’ve ever seen. My husband went back to feed the meter because no way would I see everything before our time ran out. There’s a little bit of everything and many things I’d never seen before. It’s like walking into Wonka’s factory but with no calories. Some of the prices are a little high and some are good. Whether you need kids’ craft stuff, stretched canvas, paint & brushes, or a gift for an artsy friend, you’ll probably find it here.

Jackson shared his in-depth knowledge of pigments and tinting strengths to help me select the best Michael Harding oil paints for my purposes. Great prices, everyone is pleasant on the phone, and even parking is a fun adventure. Great destination and much faster that mail order.

Such a unique art store. They have anything you need for arts and crafts. I go here to get gifts for people, or to just roam around and pick out something new to try. They are super helpful and kind too!

Nearly everything any creative person would need is in this shop. So much stuff, floor to ceiling. Good stuff, I'll be back.

Fully stacked and got all my last minute paint before the mural dried. The staff is incredibly helpful and a smile makes the whole experience as an artist in the "zone" feel like your creation will work out just great and stress turns into fun.

Great creative vibe. If you can't find what your looking for, you probably just need to ask as this place has everything for the professional or casual artist. Staff are knowledgeable about the options available.

This was a great spot. The staff was very friendly and had plenty of advice when I asked and left me to browse in peace the rest of the time. That is a skill not many people have. There was a great selection of stock and this is where I’ll be going for now on for my supplies.

Thank goodness for Artist and Craftsman! As a multidisciplinary artist this is my first stop for supplies. To prepare for a show I am vending I was able to find price stickers, paper tags, cork for my display, spray paint, and earring backs. Also, I have always loved my interactions with the artists working there. Definitely reccomend!

For god's sake people, if you stop in and have a good experience with a business, don't just plop on the internet and leave a 2 star review! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? If you have a good experience and nothing went wrong that is a FIVE STAR review. People's lives and local businesses are at stake. I see people like "found everything I need and the people were helpful" -two stars. TF is wrong with you, do you not understand how numbers work? This is my favorite art store in the city, its got cool vibes and nice people and a great selection! Oh, the people outside are "sketchy"? That has NOTHING to do with the business (also check your bias). If you are on google giving stuff a 2 star review because it adequately solved your problem but wasn't a magical transformative experience YOU SUCK. Shop here! The last thing anyone wants is for them to close and some s***thole chipotle chic-fil-a soulless-a$$ chain restaurant to move into the space. Y'all are gonna 2 star review your way out of having an interesting city.

An amazing art store so filled with crazy things you could browse for a week straight and not see everything. This place is way better than the typical art supply store as its packed with everything you need plus a lot of stuff you just want. It's a throwback mashup of old school toy store, art store, and oddities museum. Prices are decent and staff is great. Pro tip: there is parking on clipper mill rd so you can avoid scary North ave.

It's even bigger than my old Artist & Craftsman store back at home. It has 2 floors and many many great things for artists to buy for low prices. There are a lot of discounts but you may still want to price compare and check some things. It's situated in a great place in my opinion (close to an art school). Great store with nice employees. And you get a free tote bag too.

The two stars honestly only reflects the vast supplies this store has. I along with two other friends, who are artists and were patrons of the store went in on a quiet Saturday on 1.29.2022 around 11:30-12:00pm. At the time there were no customers in the space and three employees. If you have been here, you know that the views from the upstairs area are beautiful. This was after snow so we decided to go there to get some sketching done. We were very respectful and spoke when we entered. We proceeded upstairs. We sat on some buckets that were near the windows, softly played classical music, and sketched. Now granted we did not know this was going to be an issue…artists in an art store drawing. But, artists making art was an issue in an art store. On two occasions employees came to tell us that this was a private business and that this was not allowed, but it was done in an unmindful and patronizing way. Person one: “Are you here for a class? There are not any customers here, but for future you can’t do this, but enjoy the view.” Not 10 minutes later another person came up that was not nearly as pleasant, “This is a private business and whenever you go to a private business you need to ask permission to do something like this. You can stay here for now, enjoy the scenery, but you really need to ask private business for permission to do this.”Now, either their team has terrible communication or the employees were committed to making three individuals, all people of color, feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in the space. The back to back interactions of the employees to tell us of the fact that it is a private business was excessive. Of the three of us, I was the only African American in the group. Neither of the employees acknowledged or made eye contact with me rather directing their communication to the two non-Black POC. With the messaging, the frequency of interruptions, the avoidance of speaking to/acknowledging the Black person in the group with the same level of recognition as the other members of the group, and just the general feeling of unease will be why I will never go back to this store and will encourage others to invest their money elsewhere.I am a Chief People Officer of a multi-million dollar company. I do not say this for any other reason but to share that I understand policies. I create them as a part of my position. HOWEVER, there is a a manner in which you can communicate these policies and enforce them with out it being an experience where people are not being respected. All that to say…DO BETTER ARTS AND CRAFTSMAN SUPPLY or just put up a sign.

I love this place! It was a horrible night in December, 2019. I was looking for a place to park right down the street on North Avenue around 6pm. I pulled into a space that didn’t permit parkingin that space, I realized, although the space ahead did, and there was a car parked there. So I put my signal on to merge into the lane and checked traffic in the side mirror. It appeared this guy was gonna let me merge, but that was not the case. Instead, hestepped on the gas and hit my left fender. According to the officer (and any reasonable person) it was a “Hit & Run” Geico, however, claimed I was at fault. So be really careful when choosing car insurers. The economic repercussions and emotional distress are far greater than a damaged fender. But though shaken, I was determined to get supplies.I was totally frazzled when I walked through the door. That’s when I met William and he’s been helping me ever since. For example, on that night, I had no idea my bag was open, until they told me. I was completely disoriented, so William walked me through the list in my head. But here’s the finest example of service. It was time to get a large canvas. But the one I chose was too large for me to hold, so William carried the canvas to where I had parked after being hit: the McDonalds on North Avenue. But even worse, however much we tried, it didn’t fit in my car. So we had to walk it back to the store, so I could select a smaller canvas, and William carried that back to the car. Now I don’t know how to adequately define that type of experience. It’s beyond good service. Guessing it’s more like «π».I’ve been a regular since 2015. Great place to buy art supplies and staff is great!

I love love love it. The only problem is the parking, which is down a mountain of stairs and under an overpass. You can't as a woman walk to your car after dark, and if you have a mobility disability you are basically screwed. The place itself is amazing, friendly, and thrifty.

Love this store and all that it has. They have competitive prices on art stuff, and a huge variety. Their instagram presence is good and they are really helpful. There's also really neat stuff so it's also good as a semi-museum gift shop.

My first time visiting this store was in March, 2019. I went to the store with my friend. I should be ashamed of myself because I drive past here on my way home. This place is amazing! Great staff and a huge selection of arts and crafts. The staff is wonderful and were a huge help in offering advice for any questions that I had.

We drove an hour to get there, and by the time we do, my mom (who has a disability affecting her bladder) has to use the bathroom. They said to hike two blocks to a train station so she tried to hold it. She ended up having to beg to use the bathroom and they humiliated her. She didn't make it home either. It was a wonderful way to treat someone who regularly spends hundreds of dollars at a smaller business(sarcasm)!
