Safe way is a poor place to go to. certain thing need some help the mangers don’t communicate very well with other managers!!!l like with the department manager will say one thing to the employees but then the store manager or the other manager in charge will say something completely different and that is poor communication skills with each other about certain things. Or they do whatever they want and don’t listen to the employees feeling or feedback or thoughts about the store and they better barely ever have any cashiers when they really need them they nitpick about every little thing . The store manager had said the me what’s up not hello can o help you

I recently moved to this area from Gambrills, MD. This Annapolis location has disappointed me every time I come. Barely any LIVE checkout lanes opens, seafood dept closed up by 5PM one evening, fruit section (bananas specifically) looks like something in a third world country. I will drive back to my old Gambrills location to get better quality there.

11/24/23When grocery prices are inflated, it’s incredibly frustrating to get home thinking you were going to save money and cook in, but only to find out that the meat you purchased was absolutely rancid. I am not sure what is going on at this Safeway’s meat department, but this is now the third time in two months that it’s happened to me. Definitely not purchasing meat here anymore.

The BEST grocery store experience I’ve ever had thanks to an employee named Denise who helped me at self check-out, and was such a kind and beautiful person. It made my day. Her customer service is a rarity nowadays.

Changing my 1 star review to a 3 star review because after leaving a 1 star review, I guess I caught the attention of the right person to get the refund I was owed after it was refused over and over when I was calling and communicating with corporate. I was going to completely delete the review. But I think people should be aware that certain people in management at this store are clearly on power trips. Whoever cared enough to see that I got the refund, thank you. But it shouldn’t have taken this long and most certainly shouldn’t had come down to me having to leave a 1 star review. However, after this experience, I haven’t and will not return to Safeway again for anything. Especially this location.

Safeway has really gone down hill. Especially this one and forest drive. Both of which I actually worked at but the last two times I bought produce from housefly rd it was bad the next day. The lettuce was completely brown on the inside 2 heads of iceberg and the black plums were literally mush. I am so disappointed. Whoever is running the produce department is not pulling and bad products.

Im a frequent and loyal Safeway shopper. Not so pleasant experience yesterday when an employee stood like less then 2 feet from my daughter and I in self checkout and stared directly at us (no one else) the entire time I was checking out. When I did finish the transaction he approached me and accused me of shoplifting. I didn’t owe him an explanation but challenged him to name what I “stole” while holding my receipt in hand. The whole thing was strange because it’s kind of like he singled me out. Instead of causing a scene I relayed the incident to the front end manager he seemed apologetic but unconcerned because the employee that did it was “special needs.” I already recognized that but it’s still not professional nor does it provide a good shopping environment for him to be lingering around self checkout harassing paying customers. I don’t think I will be back and it might be time to explore other grocery store options.

Disappointing. Went to get bagels and most bins were empty. They were selling 4 day old slices of cake for $6. We did find a good loaf of artisan bread but the staff member wasn't really trained on properly using the slicer.

It's weirdly organized and they are often out of certain items for weeks to months. The dairy section is poorly stocked, and make sure you check your expiration dates! I have almost accidentally bought 2 month expired lunch meat. Other than that, it's decent and pretty cheap.

Overall very clean, organized and well kept. Their deli is usually fresh. But the store's overall selection is quite limited and that may be due to the size of the store. I usually end up going to the Safeway in Edgewater or another grocery store because they don't carry a lot of what I need.

The store is always very busy and the isles are narrow I believe compared to other locations. Too much stimulation packed into a small space. Plus, the people who work there seem a little too busy to give you 100% of their attention when you ask a question. Why is that so? Parking is good. There are plenty of spaces shared with neighboring tenants and the selection within the center helps this be a reasonable choice for groceries.

The employees consistently take their smoke breaks directly near the customer entrance! There’s no way to avoid cigarette smoke wafting in my face! It’s so annoying not to mention a health risk! Please please implement a new policy!

On July 25th I had one of the most moving experiences I've ever had with a retail stores customer service efforts. This was solely because of one of your awesome employees, named Kelvin. Long story short I'm a single mother my life is chaotic. I've seen some hard hard times. with that being said, I often go to the grocery store late because of it.Kelvin was compassionate compelling, kind things solely because of his own life experiences. Kelvin understood on a personal level how difficult going to the grocery store with my seven-year-old as a single mother. Sparing the details of what he exactly did for me, I will never forget his face nor his name and the compassionate experience that gave me chills. If he would like to share the details of what made this so special to me, he is more than welcome. I often see that the younger generation lacks, compassion, kindness, and most importantly (in my book), manners. Kudos to Kelvin for being the reason I plan to travel to the other end of Annapolis just to go to that Safeway. But also to particularly Safeway when I have the option of going to a grocer that is only 3 minutes from my house.

Produce is always low or out of stock, especially bananas. No one is on the registers after 8 pm. Instead they stand at the front talking to each other or barking orders at me on how to scan barcodes on my produce. If I am going to do your job for you, don’t stand there and tell me how to do it.

The staff have always been friendly and courteous and offer to help. They help me find things and reach for things for me.Since I use the motorized cart, that can be very important. I find your selection is usually very good and well stocked.

This Safeway is top flight. They have a great variety of fresh/frozen, prepared and gluten free foods as well as a great selection of brands and sizes. The parking is ample, and the location is easily accessible,

The store is very attractive, but they need better management! When I was in just before rush the employees were all very helpful and available. When the rush came everyone disappeared, but there was no one at the registers. When I finally found a young fellow to ask he was extremely helpful, so I say again that this is only about managing the schedule and hiring more people in the rush times.

The customer service here is almost always great. Tge stores is always clean and orderly. Yet, the lines, both cashier and self check out, do get a bit backed up. They may need to add an extra cashier. I get the whole concept of self check out, but I don't care to ring my self up when I'm spending money in your establishment. I enjoy being waited on, besides its job security for the cashiers. Trader Joe's totally understands the importance of having a cashier ring you up...no self check out lines there.

Customer wasn't wearing a mask manager heard our complaints and took one to her. Folks don't care about themselves nor others.This lady wiped the handle of her cart - threw the paper towel on the floor. I came behind her picked it up and pointed to the trash disposal. I had on gloves but used their sanitizer as I watched her.She then took another piece of paper towel and walked into the store. I complained to Don in produce. As she shopped she'd lowered her hand with the towel that was covering her face. Clearly that wasn't protection. Other customers saw her and became furious.Unfortunately, folks like her have to get this virus and come through so they can tell their story about not wearing a mask and the importance of doing so.Thank you kindly male store manager for being on top if it.

VERY HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF. I've NEVER had any issues with finding an item, something being out of stock, not being able to find a staff member to help, nasty food from the hot food/salad bar. Every experience I've had at this Safeway has been a good one. I'm young and every staff member has always used yes/no ma'am when speaking to me. i always feel valued and respected at this Safeway.

Yesterday morning I was in this Safeway's self checkout lane ringing up my items & the simplest pharse "Are you doing alright over here?" was said by a customer service associate. Only she said it in such a caring & real manner to me as well as other customers throughout the self checkout service area that it hit me enough to make sure and post about it to be sure & let it be known to others that there are good caring customer service associates still around & one for sure I can tell you is at this Safeway!

It's a pretty typical supermarket. The food is generally of a decent quality, produce is usually acceptable, meat is better than some nearby stores, not as good as others. A reasonable variety of products. Prices are neither any great bargain nor generally very high.Service is a little lackluster, and not always knowledgeable or efficient. A little deviation from a typical transaction can cause checkout to grind to a halt.But it's nearby, often has what's needed, and with an acceptable cost and a minimum of grief.

Store rarely has stock for advertised sales. 9/10 times when I go there based on what’s in their weekly ad I leave disappointed. This week- crab meat and asparagus were the two items I specially came for and neither were in stock. Things not on sale are ridiculously over priced (for meat/produce). So, not sure why I bother trying anymore.

Fair quality of produce but it still can be very expensive. The speed of the checkout has become much, much better since we moved into the area, although probably more due to the active management of the self-checkout stations than the speed of the checkout aisles (of which I've only ever seen a maximum of two open).
