Recently had two rooms upgraded with pre-fab wood floors. Have used Gideon's in the past to install wool stairs and wood floors in our master bedroom and hallway as well. Work was well done, installers are very professional and everything was done at reasonable price. Would definitely recommend Gideons to anyone looking for new hardwood floors.

We had an excellent experience with Marcus and team at Gideon's Wood Floors. We recently bought a condo and the carpet in the two bedrooms was horrendous, so we wanted to match it to the wood floors in the living area. We currently live out of state and our schedule is very tight, but Marcus worked with us on our timeline to get us a sample for matching. He and even pre-emptively ordered the floors to get them on time, assuming that they matched (which, they did!). He was also super communicative and made himself available to answer all of my questions.The team ended up having an emergency on the day they were scheduled to install, and although I offered to reschedule, Marcus insisted that they come the next day (on a weekend!) to install and meet my timeline. The guys came by and got everything done in a few hours, and the floors are beautiful! They are about as close a match to the existing floors as I could hope -- they really flow seamlessly -- and everything was installed really well. I could immediately feel that the floors were warmer with the new underlayment than they were with the old carpet, and I'm excited to move everything in soon.I'm very, very happy with Gideon's and would highly recommend them.Services: Wood floor installation, Install flooring

Unfortunately, I am writing about my bad experience I had with Gideon. I had a humidity problem at my house. I was living out of state and renting the house at the time. I contacted Gideon and they came out to repair the wood floors. After they searched for for flooring to match, they said I had two options, I could replace the entire floor or they could have flooring custom made, since it wasn't made any more. I asked if they could get the flooring pre finished, so they would not have to sand the entire first floor and re-stain it. They said they could. After I put a deposit down, they came out and removed the damaged flooring. Then it took me months to get them to come out and complete the job. They said there was a family emergency and apologized. I understood this, but they had left my tenant living with a first floor with missing flooring for months. Finally they got the flooring "custom made" and came out to the house. They dropped off the flooring to the house to let it acclimate, and my tenant called to say the floor was in a standard box you would get from Home Depot. I contacted Gideon and asked about this and someone told me that it indeed did come from Home Depot. Then I questioned that I paid for custom flooring and Marcus responded back saying, no the floor was custom made, but had to be bought through Home Depot. It was all very suspicious. After it was installed, as you can see, the floor does not even come close to matching. Marcus told me that they only had a few colors to pick from, so they picked the closest color. This all doesn't sound very "custom" for what I paid for. In addition, they never replaced some of the trim, so my main floor has missing trim (which you can see). On top of it, I moved back into the house and contacted someone to refinish the entire floor since the color doesn't match at all. They said that all of the flooring was pre finished, so it cannot be sanded and refinished. It would have been nice if Gideon told me this, because I would have just replaced the entire floor or had them not get pre-finished if they told me this. Now I am stuck paying for it to get fixed again. Overall, I was hugely disappointed from this whole experience. We are now paying someone to rip up all of the flooring and put new ones down. I threw that couple thousand dollars out the window with Gideon.

I recently purchased my first home and was looking for a hardwood flooring company. My project was to have the hardwood floors sanded and stained and also have the carpet in the master removed and replaced with hardwood floors. I hired Gideon's Wood floors and they were amazing! Marcus came and gave me a reasonable estimate. On the day of the project the workers were on time, explained everything to me and gave me a few samples of the stains on the floors. I had all this done prior to moving in because everyone warned me that there would be dust everywhere. Once my floors were done I was surprised at how little dust was in my home. The floor look wonderful and I'm so happy I hired them. Everyone was so professional, timely, and informative. I highly recommend them for your flooring needs, you won't be disappointed. Gideon's Wood Floor Services did an excellent job in our house. They worked with existing floors (from 1957) and matched the wood, to tooth in areas where wood was not previously laid. They worked with both white and red oak and matched the color seamlessly throughout the house. They were knowledgeable, courteous and very clean throughout the entire process. This is the second time we've used Gideon's, and they were outstanding both times. In 2016, Gideon's helped us strip thick green paint from original hardwood floors in a century old Annapolis house. They weaved new boards where the old floors were damaged and refinished everything in place. The outcome was stunning. More recently, we purchased a century old home in Baltimore County. We intended to pull up the carpet and hoped to refinish in place. Unfortunately, the subfloors and wood below were damaged beyond repair, and Gideon's moved mountains to expedite our job - even with the increase in scope. Their team was able to demo several layers of old flooring, replace subfloor where necessary, sand down transitions, and install the new hardwood floors over two days. I tried to install wood floor in my new home by myself and simply ran out of time to dedicate to the project, so I asked around for recommendations for a local company who was experienced with residential wood flooring jobs. I am SO glad that Gideon's was recommended to me by a friend. Not only did my job involve picking up where I had left off upstairs, but it also included matching new wood to existing wood downstairs. They flat-out did an excellent job in all aspects. They completed the job ahead of schedule, communicated with me through the entire project, and Marcus even ran around town to make sure I had the right shoe-mold the same day we discussed it so that the job would not take an extra day. The service was great, and so was the work; I'd absolutely recommend them.

Everyone I had a contact with in that company we’re knowledgeable, helpful and professional. They take care of your floors like it is their own house! Since the first time I contacted them to see if they could fix our floors they’ve been nothing but helpful and highly professional! We purchased a house and the hardwood needed refinishing. Itwas prefinished Brazilian cherry wood that is exotic expensive and can be very beautiful, however previous homeowner used a wrong finish or some kind of coating that ended up badly staining the floors. There were also deeper gouges and scratches as well as spilled nail polish and glitter. Gideon’s technician promptly came out to the house and did estimate, he recognized that there were three different types of wood used in our flooring and assured us that the floor can be refinished to its original look. Needless to say they came out very next day and in only two days finished the job. They worked well with my husband keeping him updated on the progress and explaining every step of the way.The floors look amazing ! It’s like we good brand new floors! I cannot thank them enough
