This grocery store has gone down in quality. Shopped here for years and today was the last day I'll step foot in that store. There are multiple issues at this store. At most there are 2-3 registers open during the day creating long lines if you have over 20 items. Self checkout now has bagging area weight sensors and cameras installed overhead to help prevent theft however these systems routinely malfunction or create false alerts to then have to wait for an employee to come over and review the footage which takes time because they are either missing or helping multiple other people.Also, today I walked in and there was "security" standing at the front entrance wearing a bulletproof vest. While this is suppose to make the customer feel safer, it has the opposite effect. If I am doing my grocery shopping in a store that thinks its necessary to have security in a bulletproof vest then it is not a safe store to begin with.I will be doing my grocery shopping somewhere else.

I purchased a premade rack of ribs here. Thinking it woutd bim actually nauseous e prepared correctly. For anybody and I mean anybody, I'll say it again, anybody who's cooked ribs in their life would cringe at these ribs. The BBQ sauce is tasteless. The membrane was not removed. And they needed another hour to cook. It's not rocket science. My advice to them is to just not offer them anymore if they're not going to make a quality product. I'm actually nauseous from eating them. I ate 2 and just threw them out. It's beyond bad, it's disgusting.

I order grocery pick up, often from here, and I understand things can get messed up occasionally, but I can't see how, the person shopping for me, didn't notice 1 egg short, carton damaged. Eggs are expensive, the fact that they just gave it to me, knowing I wouldn't see it until I got home, just showed me that they have no regard for the customers, I mean really, how could anyone miss this??!!

Very disappointed with there extremely high prices literally 10$ for a 12 count coke case. Not to including other items it's really price smashing from my perspective it is my 1st time here but is my last with giant makes no sense .

Two check out lanes open on a Saturday afternoon, completely packed. I went to self checkout with a hand basket of groceries. The self checkout attendant said it looked like I had too many items in my hand basket and wouldn't let me check out. Wasn't a big deal if he wasn't so rude.

Great staff, employees were polite, helpful and professional. Overall fair prices considering all stores over charge. It's sad because I used to able to grab some wants now I can hardly afford my basic needs.

I use to love shopping here and now I don't for the last 5 years whenever i.go in I get watched at self checkout and do not appreciate that! Was in like 5 minutes ago at self checkout the worker came over and stood with her face darn near in my bag I was bagging and then proceeded to watch me thinking I didn't see her so here's the thing I have never stolen nor ever had to! This is the 1st time I decided to say something so as I was leaving I told her next time ask me if I was stealing instead of watching me! I am not with the shenanigans I spend lots of money here and the food is bad seafood fruits etcAnd I have not been reimbursed for none of those rotten items so giants at riva please don't treat me like a crook because I am not!

Dirty Store/PoorServiceThe store is generally pretty dirty, but I shopped there b/c of the convenient location. Recently I was shopping there in the evening & purchased maybe $100-$150 worth of groceries. At 10 PM, a hour before closing, I went to check out, but only the self checkout was open with a sign that said 20 items or less. I asked the one & only visible employee to open a register, but he only offered to assist me while I self-checked out a buggy full of groceries myself. I was moderately annoyed & questioned why they would allow people to load up on groceries without having an open register to check them out. The employee said it was unsafe to have the registers open so late & stated “he “didn’t make the rules”. I didn’t say it out loud, but I wondered why it is safe for their customers to shop there at night, but not safe for people who are actually paid to be there. Out loud I commented that they should provide some form of notification, i.e. a sign, an announcement, etc… telling customers that only self checkout was available so they didn’t make rhe the mistake of buying a lot of groceries that the would have to check out themself. At least they’d be offered the courtesy of making an informed decision. The employee told me to stop complaining. I left the buggy of groceries there & walked out.

Lost wallet in parking lot, went back in with cashier who was super sweet! But said she didn’t see it. Went home, called a little while later, customer service was super rude, cut me off almost immediately and said “name?” When I came back to get my wallet, they chose to take guests before me, answer calls, etc. when I finally walked up to the counter (even after associate was no longer busy, she did not acknowledge me/day she could help me) she turned her back on me before I could get a word in and said “wallet” to the other associate, who begrudgingly retrieved my wallet. I thanked them for helping me, as a customer service employee I understand that it is a hard job. I never leave reviews, but this was just obnoxious. I’d understand if I was a trouble customer, but I was so kind and grateful for their help.

I’ve been coming to this location for 4 years since we moved here and have almost always used the self-checkout. While I was scanning my items at the self-checkout, the clerk with dyed red hair approached my cart and started counting the items in my cart. I finally asked her what’s wrong? She then informed me that self-checkout is 20 items or less. I asked since when, and she responded since last week. There are no signs stating this, and funny enough, I was just shopping there maybe 4 days ago and used the self-checkout without any issues then. I’m not sure why I was told this today, but I had maybe 25 items and I’m quicker than most people at the checkout lol.

Please break you cashiers of the habit of trying to analyze why a customer gives them a certain amount of cash. They’re cashiers, not analysts. Simplistic tools are available to enter the amount of cash that a customer gives them into the register, and the register tells the cashier how much change to return to the customer. Simply count what you’re given, don’t analyze, don’t wonder, don’t question - simply count what you’re given and enter exactly that amount tendered into the register. There is probably no simpler task in life than counting cash. If a customer provides $37.55, simply count the $37.55 and push the 3 7 5 5 buttons + Enter or Amount Tendered into the register. Forget the analysis. A customer should never have to see a puzzled look on a cashier’s face and should certainly never hear the words “You gave me too much money.”If I owe $6.51 and I give the cashier $21.51, I know why I gave that amount. One reason is that I’m not a cashier. I don’t need small change to give to customers the rest of the day. My goal was to get larger bills (a $5 bill and a $10 bill) back and lighten the change load in my pocket.A second reason is that I have been a cashier and I knew that I was going to be serving many, many customers during my shift and that I was going to need change throughout the shift to give them. Yes, I can always call out to my manager if I need some change, but if my customers provided me with some also, all the better - maybe I wouldn’t need to bother my busy manager after all.A third reason is that I have been a cashier, and even if I hadn’t, I know that it’s easier for someone to count one or two objects (like a $5 bill and a nickel - 2 objects) compared to multiple objects (like four $1 bills and who knows how many coins - 8-10 objects or more.) If a customer gives you an amount of cash that makes it exponentially easier for you count change back (1-2 objects compared to 8-10 or more,) you should enthusiastically thank them, not question them.Again, calmly count the $21.51 that you’re given, press 2 1 5 1 Enter into the register with your fingertips and give the customer their $5 bill and $10 bill in change.

Been shopping here every Saturday for 3 years. It has always been a pleasurable experience until today. Everyone has always been extremely courteous and helpful. I went to place my weekly cold cuts order, and the individual behind the counter did not even make an attempt to wear a mask. When I brought this to his attention his extremely sarcastic respond was "do I know you?" My response "a former loyal customer that will shop else where going forward"

The selection at this Giant can be up and down, but the produce, deli and fresh meat sections are always stocked well. The staff at this store are always extremely pleasant and helpful. There's a young man who works their self check out area, I can't remember his name but he has dreadlocks, I want to say maybe Tray? He's always so helpful and polite and keeps that area humming along. My only concern area is the pharmacy. Not because the associates there aren't pleasant, they are extremely so, but whenever I put in a prescription it takes forever to fill. Today I dropped off 3 prescriptions at 12pm and at 415pm went back to pick up and was told it would be another 10 minutes or so, because they had to count them out and label them. Isn't that all they do? So basically they didn't touch my prescriptions for over 4 hours till I showed up to pick them up. Same with the man who came to pick up in front of me. He also wasn't very happy.9/11/21Recently I have been having a huge issue with the store selling expired food. Many canned goods are expired and today I bought a package of hot dogs that were so old the liquid in the package had turned to a white slime, disgusting. I have no confidence in this store whatsoever.

Brian is absolutely great my grandmother have a hard time seeing and he read ever bottle of skin itch cream out loud and made sure she was satisfied all while still working to do his assigned assessments. Brian is a pleasure! Wish more were like him! :-)

Bought a 100 dollar giftcard the card says it was never activated a week later the manager has promised in “24hrs” three times and never calls me back THEY basically stole A $100 from me! The customer service lady said the cards NEVER WORK! That’s fraud selling gift cards you know don’t work !!! This is crazy and to go a week out a $100 is insane! I’m looking I but I pressing charges! I called and even had them speak with black hawk who is the company giant said I had to call and they still refuse to refund my money or give me a working visa gift card like i purchased! Run from this store before they scan you too! The supervisor at block hawk spoke to the manager to prove the card wasn’t active and they still wouldn’t activate it properly!

I have nothing bad to say. The store is conveniently located close to where I work and with a 6:00 am open time makes it perfect for any last minute items I may need.The store layout is easy to navigate and the employees are always very nice which isn't always easy early in the morning.

We’re loyal customers and typically enjoy shopping here. However, some extra love needs to be given to your online P/u service. A phone call when arrived? That wouldn’t be so bad, if your phone intro wasn’t forever long. Put a shortcut on the sign...make an app notification option...put an employee outside...anything would help. Calling the operator...not so much.

This is my go-to for grocery shopping. I use the scan it devices to get everything done rapidly. The staff is cheerful, and helpful when I need them. If you are trying to get your shopping done fast, avoid peak hours, and use the scan it devices. Every once in a while the scan it devices are all down for charging. Can we get a new set?

My favorite Giant location has added an employee to make my experience even more better. I’m not sure if she’s new her name is Cheryl and she went above and beyond. She was very pleasant, helpful, professional and she smiled. Cheryl went above and beyond by scanning coupons for me that she knew I would benefit from. I had a very large order and definitely could have used the savings. I was very appreciative of that. She smiled, she thanked us and she was rather quick; getting us in and out. My new fav cashier! Thank you!
