Went twice on Sunday. Had the bulkie w/ sausage and extra egg for breakfast and the Italian grinder for lunch. Breakfast sandwich was pretty good. I enjoyed that and it kept me satisfied until noon. The Italian grinder was less impressive. It was fine but not noteworthy. Cook, who seemed like the owner was working hard to fill orders and was very friendly, paying attention to all the customers. It is walking distance to anywhere on long sands beach and worth the stop.

Love the store, but every time I’m in the conversation is the same. “Can you make the egg in my sandwich over easy. NOT well done?” Answer, “I’ll do my best”. Result: it’s ALWAYS overcooked. 😂. I like the store, the cookies are great and I love that they have local donuts, but I want my egg the way I want it, not how the cook wants it. 😂

Wonderful little store! We had the Bulkie breakfast sandwich every morning. So so delicious. Had sandwiches several times and a hamburger one night. All were delicious. The staff are super friendly and so nice. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend going there for any meal or whatever you may need.

Just popped in for a cup of java. Every expectation was met. We hit the road refueled. Place was clean, service was friendly. Great for pit stops or other sundries you may need.

Great service! I did not enjoy the coffee there this year. The serve Green Mountain. Other places in the area serve New England Coffe, which I enjoyed more.

Amazing. We love going here early in the morning , grabbing a cup of coffee and breakfast sandwiches, and heading to the beach. Breakfast sandwiches are simple but incredible, and everyone is so nice! 10/10

This is the best place! Every time we are in maine this is a staple stop for us. The breakfast bulkies are amazing, coffee selection is on point and the Italian subs with hots.... my my there is not any where that can make that better! Everyone who works there is friendly and makes you feel like they've known you forever. I've been to places similar but none stand even close to this one.

this store is filled with the kindest workers. they walk around with smiles on their faces and are just so welcoming. my family and I got their breakfast sandwiches and WOW! they were delicious! despite what people are saying about the man who works behind the food counter, he is an individual who is in charge of making these orders all by himself. i work at a restaurant and it is SO EASY to mess up, forget, or just in general misunderstand orders. please be considerate about what you are saying. we are all human. they are short staffed. to end on a positive note, i would recommend going in even if its just for a peek. loved it—following up on this review a year later. i wish i could add another star on because i would. each morning, i would wake up and walk down to this store from the hotel at which i was staying. the coffee, the people, the food…SO INCREDIBLE! the man behind the counter i swear makes the BEST breakfast sandwiches i’ve ever tasted, the girl behind the iced coffee counter is just so sweet, and the woman at the cashier is so friendly. i wish a store like this existed where i live!

Absolutely horrible experience. I was so mad I forgot to take pictures b4 my wife got her food remade and I threw mine in the trash. She ordered a blt sandwich and I got a pulled pork...They put peanut butter and jelly with tomatoes lettuce and beacon on her sandwich and they used pizza sausage for pulled pork.... can't make this stuff up I was dumb founded when I saw that.Not to mention the lady they had working out front didn't listen what so ever and was supper rude... wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at anyploint what so ever.

The general store has been where we get our lunch on every York trip each summer while on the beach. Their food and icecream is great, the people are friendly, and it's been a tradition for us each time. Great little store inside with a variety of items. Will always make it a priority to go in at least once every time!

I love it here. Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Whoever complained about the cats... Shame on you. I miss them it was the charm of a small country store. If your looking for A huge perfect place go somewhere else. Leave this place as is it's perfect to me.

Great little store for all your needs and essentials. We grabbed food as out of towner's and they didn't disappoint! Very simple but good. Chicken fingers were great so you know your safe for picky eaters and kids.

We love this place......you name it, they carry it. My wife is particular to the wine and scones and our daughter the jelly donuts (of course dad/me has to get there at 6am before all the donuts are gone). Being greeted at the register every morning with a huge smile, makes my day.

The man working at the grill/food counter is very rude/disrespectful. You better make sure you know exactly what you’re ordering when you step up to the window. If not, he will literally yell at you to hurry up. Also, everything in the store is extremely overpriced. I wouldn’t waste my time or money at this establishment. The only bright spot is the sweet cashier.

Grew up going here every day of our summer vacations and now again on my family weekend trips. Was greatly missed in 2020. Fantastic coffee (highly suggest stopping by for breakfast then walking the beach!), delicious deli meals, delightful staff, and all the emergency go-tos and sentimental knickknacks. Fingers crossed for 2021!

Great location, decent beer selection if you're in a bind. In the off-season there are few other choices in the area. We stocked up on supplies and beer, but unfortunately it was too cold to grab and ice cream and sit on the beach.

Their famous breakfast bulkie with sausage is off the hook! Fair prices for all the wine too. Great local shop when we stayed at the Stones Throw In. Right next door.

Just wanted to give a big shout out to long sands, The Real Italian is the real deal, the service, the sandwich, the employees were all wonderful and I wanted to say thank you when i came in last minute even when the deli was closed up they made it a point to make me feel welcome and comfortable as they made my 3 subs, will be back for sure and the story of how the sub got its name and how the store opened is a cool one so if you get a chance when your in York check them out!!!!!! Thanks again long sands!

Out favorite general store! I chose where I stay based on proximity of the best palace to get Coffee and a Breakfast Bulkie. Lunch is awesome too! Everyone says they have the best lobster roll in the area, LSGS actually does. They made us two rolls for our trip home, wrapped up perfectly. They made it all the way across the street to the car. They smelled so good we sat right there in the car and ate them for breakfast while taking in our last breaths of salt air before we made the 4 hour trek home to the catskills. Don't know where we will stay next trip to York, but you can bet it won't be too far from Long Sands General Store.

Decent food but the staff at the food counter has a really bad attitude. Things will be frequently out of stock and they will rudely make it known. Messed up a very simple order. Pizza oven operates when they feel like it. Cashier is usually friendly.

Have been coming to York beach over 20 years. Long Sands General store the best. Service with Maine hospitality and great place for lunch or pick up a quick item you need. Highly recommend. Condo owners Becky and Adam live right around the corner from and they (LSGS) know their regular customers
