I thought it might be difficult to stay neutral, as I'm a truck driver who delivers to Ames, no, it's easy. I usually arrive an hour b4 they open & people see the truck & an open door & assume they're open, and I've been places where they've been told 'we're closed' not once in 7yrs have I seen him turn anyone away. He'll turn on the lights and say "how can I help you?" wish they were all like that, friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable service & quality products. I shop there and it's the good stuff. Family owned and freindly for real. Glad it's my first stop of the week, gets me in a good mood!

Great store with decent prices however the young man with long hair needs to learn some manners. He had the older women bring out 100 lbs worth of grain in the middle of a blizzard.

They have a great selection of a little of everything that you might need in garden or a hobby farm. A lot of their plants are 1st come 1st serve. The people that work there are very nice but you really need to know the questions that you want answered. You have to ask very pointed questions. They have orders for chicks and ducks but for the most part you need to sign up beforehand. They are always usually spoken for when they come in the door.

Coming back from Portsmouth, New Hampshire from picking up my brides dream refrigerator, I knew I needed grain for our rabbits. Instead of going out of our way to get It from our normal store in Bangor, we stopped here. Very friendly workers. Clean and well organized. Wished we lived closer.

Good local feed and farm store. If you want to avoid driving all the way to Yarmouth in a pinch they can usually help you. Also they have pallets for $1.00 a peice!
