2 really bad experiences, was being cashed out, when all of a sudden the woman stops cashing me out, with 4 or 5 items still on the belt, when I asked why she stopped, she would not answer me,so the manager comes over, the woman still won't finish My purchase, so the manager does, I didn't talk in line,or do anything that should upset anyone. I've never met anyone I even know in this store, except that I'm a conservative, and we all know how that goes,If your not one of them.! ----- strike 2 comes when I used the 14 or less line, I see the girl at the cash with a big smile, but by time I put the items on the belt, the cashier change to this angry woman who was late for her shift, and took it out on me. For some reason some cashiers think it's ok to throw the food, I asked the cashier to try not to throw the chicken in the bag, she did this 3 times, I got nervous, because the eggs were next, but instead she called me rude.got real angry,at me, she then slams My change in my hand, slamming my hand on the counter, starts to lose control of her self, not once did she look up at me through out the whole deal. I called the manager. but I think that was a waste of time, because as soon as I told him I was going to try to forget about.he seemed like the problem was solved.,,,,,well they got one more strike, with me anyway,! All I can say is it's pretty sad that this is the way we're treated. With out US there's no store! And no jobs for them. I'm retired, when I was working, respect everyone the way you would like to be treated. Goes along way. I guess there is no more The customer is always RIGHT! Happy shopping everyone???

I can't wait till a bigger and better grocery store puts them out of business. This location is the worst! They have assistant managers at the front of the store that have terrible body odor. Also a lot of the cashiers, service leaders, assistant managers, and managers at the front are rude and unhelpful. I only go here because there's no other grocery store in town, but every time I have to shop here it puts me in a terrible mood!

Quality control of goods is adequate but the atmosphere is off putting and the staff has never once said hello or have a good day even when INCHES from me as I’m coming/going. God forbid you ask one of them for help with something. The only reason I come here is because it’s a hop and skip away.

Hannaford's quality control is MUCH BETTER than it's couple of competitors! 🤩 ..with the cost of food increasing significantly this last couple years.. it's Nice to have a store offering fresh fruits & veggies! Opposed to the competitor's who put bruised, disgustingly under or OVER ripe, And EXPIRED Products on their sales floors😕Also.. They Unlike local competitors, require employees to maintain Excellent 👌 CUSTOMER SERVICE 👍AND.. it hasn't gone unnoticed, THANK YOU 💯

For the most part this store has been a good place to shop. I have been shopping here since 2003 when it was Mister Market. I have been treated rudely couple of times by staff here though. I mean there should be some restraint on their part dealing with the public and not inject so much unnecessary drama into an issue....ya know be professional.

Never Been to a Hannafords. We were passing through town on our way to Millinocket Maine to Climb Mt Katahdin and we needed a few items. The store was ver clean and well as the bathrooms. The staff and local were also very friendly. I dont get up to Maine very Often but I will definitely be back to Hannafords when I do get back there.

Have brought home food from Winthrop hannaford multiple times to find out it is already bad. Yogurts pre spoiled months before expiration, steaks spoiled day after purchase, ice cream frost bitten. Smh!

Let me start off by saying that I am absolutely in love with Hannaford! This grocery store has everything that you could possibly need, and more! From fresh produce to bakery goods, from meats to dairy products, Hannaford has it all! The moment you walk into the store, you're greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help you find what you're looking for. The store is well-organized, clean, and spacious, making it easy to navigate and find everything you need.One of the things that I love about Hannaford is their commitment to quality. They only stock the best products, and they make sure that everything is fresh and of the highest quality. Whether you're looking for locally sourced fruits and vegetables or organic meats, you can be sure that you're getting the best of the best at Hannaford. But what really sets Hannaford apart is their amazing selection of specialty foods. Whether you're looking for gluten-free products, vegan options, or international foods, they have it all! I love trying new and interesting foods, and Hannaford is the perfect place to do that. The prices here are also very reasonable. I've never felt like I was paying too much for anything, and they often have great deals and discounts on products throughout the store. I definitely recommend getting the My Hannaford Rewards app. Overall, I cannot recommend Hannaford enough! It's truly the best grocery store around, and I will definitely be shopping here for years to come!

AND… THEY VERY GENEROUSLY DONATED A HUGE, CREATIVELY AND PERSONALIZED, DECORATED CELEBRATION CAKE FOR WINTHROP’S 250th Birthday celebration this summer!! Always a vast selection of fresh quality produce available. Finally adjusted to the recent reset and happy to be finding my favorite products still on the shelves. Sadly, during my last visit, they offered an online coupon and had zero product available. This happens too often. Likely a manufacturer offer/supply chain issue & not the fault of Hannaford.

It would be fantastic if the seafood phone was connected can't get ahold of anyone. Then you try and call the meat department and noone picks up the phone at all. First I was mad because of there prices of food. Now they don't even have good customer service. Unbelievable. Oh don't forget they put red dye in there beef. Fresh beef is not that red. The dye they put in there beef is a by-product, from making gasoline. So they obviously only care about money and not the consumer. I don't know how corporations could be okay with that. Knowingly slowly poisoning the customers. Then they don't even pick up the phone. Oh yea I know how they do it. They don't care about you. The owners probably live in Australia or Spain where it's illegal to put dye in your food.

Shop early cause deals sell out quick at this small town grocery store. Pharmacy service is great and fresh local produce is a treat. Staff are generally helpful and friendly.Over all I save money shopping here and am generally pleased with products I buy. This is the only grocery store in town and can get crowded at times. If this is an issue for you there is a larger hannaford about 6 miles away in Augusta but when you' re in town for a day on the lakes this little store can't be beat for selection and convenience Update 11/12/23- store has been revamped so all hannafords share common floor plan. Also several great new ready packed meal options for people on the go who still like to eat right. The ones i tried are great but seasoned pork tenderloin was my fave.

Nice little grocery store. Had pretty much everything I needed for my stay at Maranacook Lake. I'm a coffee creamer guy, so the only thing I was bummed about was they didn't have the creamer I normally use but, they had plenty of other choices.

I am currently visiting from Clarksville,Tennessee. I asked my brother-in-law to take me to the Winthrop Hannaford (I was SO excited to see the lobster tank!!) the day after I arrived. When we got in line to check out, our cashier Jo was especially friendly and helpful. She was very efficient at her job, professional, yet maintaining a very friendly and approachable demeanor.As we spoke, I told her she was literally the nicest person I had met since being in Maine. I asked her to take a selfie with me because I was so touched that she took the time to ask about my visit. This woman is a true joy and a complete asset to Hannaford. Jo is a professional and truly takes customer service to the next level. I HIGHLY recommend shopping here and I would definitely go out of my way to return to this store. The store is immaculately clean, well stocked, and has very friendly employees that are helpful and pleasant. I have to tell you all of this is especially touching because there's not enough joy or friendliness or helpfulness in this world and it was quite refreshing. I am grateful for the opportunity to have visited this store. Thank you. :)

This is my only go to for groceries and I love there to go service, very speedy and professional! Was very helpful during the pandemic when I didn't want to go inside and fight in lines, just quick in and out and they load everything in your vehicle for you! Great service definitely recommend! Especially for the busy parents who want to save some extra time to spend with kids!

Cashier lied about being retired military and proceeded to make a scene about my retired DOD ID and license because they lack the training to identify real ID. If you were retired army you’d know DOB is on back of card. Stolen valor, dude was probably not even 18. COD doesn’t count as serving. Lots of snobby female cashiers at this location.

Small location. Unfortunately because they are such a small store, they Can't store as many items as other Hannaford locations. Because of this, there's usually mostly only 1 or 2 different brands you can choose from (with the exception of breads and/or condiments mostly)I wouldn't go there if i was shopping for, lets say.... a months worth of groceries. However it is a perfect place to go for those quick grocery trips to grab just a few things...

I shop here regularly. Their selection of sandwich meats is perfect as well as the fresh vegetables, bakery products, and pastries. If cannot find an item, the staff is so friendly and helpful. I really enjoy the atmosphere.

Decent grocery store. Prices are higher than Shaw's, but their "Clink" bottle service is very time saving. Rather than putting bottle by bottle into the machine, you just fill a bag with the bottles and drop it off. My issues are with the customer service and the seafood and deli departments. In the deli, their meats are not organized and are simply dropped into a refrigerator unwrapped. A bad choice in my view. They are not even labeled, so the deli employees just eyeball what meat is which. The seafood department also has issues. The fish is stored in a big pile and there is smelly fish juice that just flows down. Their wild salmon I bought has dozens of small bones in it. Meanwhile at Shaw’s, their wild salmon is cheaper and never has a single bone in my experience.

Great service, but kinda pricey and a lot of stuff I need, I cannot get at hannaford. Then I have to make another trip sometimes to Walmart to get the rest.The one redeeming feature that'll keep me a customer is Clynk. I truly believe that Clynks business model should be how all bottle returns are handled going forward for everyone around the world. It's so handy and convenient. Drop off a bag or two of bottles when I do groceries, within a day or two, the money is in my account and I can redeem it for cash, to buy my groceries or let it keep saving up. I have about $300 in my account at the moment and it'll just keep adding up. I kinda use it as a spare savings account, as it's money I don't miss anyway. For me, to get $5 or $10 when returning some bottles is meaningless. However, when I allow it to build up on its own, it can turn into a significant amount pretty quickly and become a rainy day fund. Sometimes, I just wait til it becomes a high amount and I then I move it into my savings so it can start earning interest.Way to go Hannaford for partnering with one of the most forward thinking companies I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with!!!! Don't ever loose that partnership with Clynk!!!

Almost always a good experience. I feel like with the amount of customers that utilize this Hannaford it will need to somehow expand in the future. The customer base is consistently growing. The selections are always good. Not as much as the large one in Augusta of course, but still a good selection. The deli staff and meat counter associates are always helpful and friendly. Typically the front end is full of younger people at nights and weekends, but they seem very good at their jobs.
