Terrible. Awful. Do not go. My kitten was sick when we got her but we didn’t know. We went to the ER just days after her bringing her home. We spent tons of money on her plus extreme measures to keep her alive. Mister should be ashamed to own that business. We called him right after and he said oh it couldn’t of been from my store, everyone is healthy here. In addition, her mouth is deformed. She can only eat soft foods now. Why didn’t I read the reviews prior to purchase? Please save yourself the headache. Do not buy!!

This isn't just a pet shop. This is THE pet shop. Probably the most welcoming, too. My parents have brought their two black pugs here (Ruby and Gus, respectively) for years. Gus is now 15 years old so clearly he loves the place. Plus, he has such a fabulous leash.

years ago my family purchased a 3 month old puppy that we were told was a pure bred havanese, she's now 9 years old and looks nothing like a havanese (pointy ears that stick up, curly tail, longer snout.a few months ago we also purchased a 3 month old yorkie who we were told would only grow to be about 8 pounds, one month later she's grown to be nearly the size of our older dog (about 11 pounds).it kind of feels like we got ripped off since we paid for a pure bred havanese & a small yorkie, yet got two dogs that were completely different from that in return.

These guys are always great. I got my gsp here and he was the healthiest dog I've ever had. He lived a long happy life until he got cancer when he got older.

Smell in this place is pretty rough. Seems like poorly behaved small dogs and their owners congregate here for fun. Overpriced puppies in the back if you’d like one.

I purchased my first dog here in 2007. Peanut, a healthy beagle who lived for 15 years. My second purchase was Charlie a king Cav born 2015. He is in good health, although a little over weight, but thats my fault. I can't resist giving him his treats. Now we have our third dog Frankie, another King Cavalier. A happy and healthy rambunctious 2 year old. I have always been treated nicely by the staff and they even remember my name. I don't understand why so many people give bad reviews from a single window shopping visit. This place is the best pet shop around.

Love this place!! Had everything for my little Shorkie, and it was so cute of a little place!! and the man that helped us out at the register was so amazing.. thank you for everything. I’ll definitely be back looking forward to spring summer clothing. Great little bones they have everything here.❤️🙌❤️The staff was so helpful and finding sizes tooI would just ignore these negative reviews as I’m not sure how they even got them. The staff was nothing but super caring and super friendly.

Who doesn't like bad reviews?I was a bit baffled by some of the reviews here about Pawz and Clawz Petz. Especially the dog committing suicide by running into traffic segue.My experience with the staff was quite the opposite. I walked in and the owner greeted me. I saw the prices and walked out.Long story short; I came back later and asked if he had any puppies that had been their for awhile. Most of his dogs were spanking new, but he referred me to a terriers breed. Much more affordable for us and very playful and cuddly.In subsequent visits, we found the staff to be personable and very knowledgeable. They obviously really care for their animals and Bryant worked within our budget.We're very happy. JeffP.S. If your looking for an affordable friend in need I can tell you one of the best dogs we have had over the years came from the Westbrook Animal Shelter ...and that we miss her everyday.Just don't tell "Pebbles" about that "best dog" part.

My happy story! I love to learn and study many things. I have owned large dogs and my female, Toy Rat Terrier/ Yorkie is a Blessing. I am older, youthful & very alive. I have been looking for a small dog for well over three years. With CoVid every small dog I saw advertised at shelters, breed rescues were immediately gone. It was a very different process from all shelters I had gotten pets from over the years. I finally lost hope. Then one day I had errands in Raymond. I have had a number of very helpful conversations with Brian by phone. I have always felt cared for and welcomed. I was so happy the day I decided to pay Pawz & Clawz a visit. I felt excited. I was sure I found my puppy. Put a down payment to buy her. While she was in her waiting period, I was welcomed to come visit & play with her. We had so much fun. I have had her for 3 months. She is very smart, clean and loves everyone she meets. I thoroughly enjoy speaking with Brian and Staff. I had my dog's name ready. It is a very special name with loving blessed meaning for me.I love my RainBow Dove. (Promise Peace).I have recommended Pawz & Clawz many times. I have neighbors who have got dogs from them. All positive praises.All their animals are lovingly cared for and visited by a vet as they come and go.Please visit and keep an open mind. We can listen to positives & negatives. Please see & feel the positives when you visit.

I have gotten two dogs here over the last 15 years. Both dogs enjoyed long, healthy lives. My Golden Retriever lived almost 14 years, and my Black Lab is currently 15 1/2 and is still alert, healthy, and enjoying a quality life.

Do not buy ANYTHING from people who support puppy mills. Many of these animals have come home with health problems or have died in the home and paws and claws does nothing because they’re part of the problem. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!

Terrible customer service. Steep prices. I asked the female worker if I could spend time with a kitten and was told that’s only for serious buyers to prevent illnesses. I had already mentioned my cat passed away and was looking for a kitten… I videochatted with my spouse while in store showing him an exotic shorthair kitten. The female worker came and told me they had a policy of no videoing. I explained I was talking to him directly. She said it didn’t matter. I walked out. I’m sure I could’ve been swayed to drop $1500 on that sweetheart of a kitten craving attention in the corner in a cage blocked from views of anyone walking in… Not sure if my appearance of a sweatshirt and leggings made her feel that I couldn’t afford a kitten or that I wasn’t serious… I won’t go back and have posted on my personal page about my experience.

I bought the most spectacular Ragamuffin cat here, and she has proved to be an incredible family member. She was healthy and happy when I got her years ago and she remains so. I will surely get my next cat from this great place. Such nice guys here!

Truthfully, I was only in here for about 5 minutes but that’s all it took to make me want to puke. If you truly care for and love animals, you will not purchase one from an establishment like this. I don’t know if these people buy their pups from puppy mills but the conditions they’re living in isn’t much different from one. I was in there looking for a French bulldog and couldn’t even recognize the dog I was staring at. Every single dog in there had the life sucked out of them, stuck in their tiny crates. The sadness I felt was overwhelming and these kind of places need to be stopped once and for all. If you’re looking for a specific breed and don’t want to adopt, you’re better off looking for a reputable breeder for a much more affordable price and less likeliness of health defects. Do your research; these animals will be a big part of your life.

Facts from USDA inspection reports.Pawz & Clawz Petz gets their pups from USDA inspected puppy mills from the Mid West. The breeders have multiple violations against the Animal Welfare Act. Including, but not limited to:*Unsanitary fecal matter reaching 3 inches thick*Dogs with ear, eyes and other body parts infected. Never been treated or seen by a vet* Administration of pig medications to pups.*Rusty wire cages

DO NOT SUPPORT PUPPY MILLS! Their establishment is completely unethical. These breeds need to be properly tested, bred, etc. Without proper care and consideration to the breeds genetic health conditions, you’ll wind up paying more in vet bills and potentially have a very a very sick dog down the line. Stick with shelters or reputable breeders who actually care about the dogs longevity and quality of life.

I've been here a few times and still find myself grappling with how uncomfortable it is in there. The staff are not friendly and the prices are too expensive. Also do people not realize these animals are treated so so so poorly? If you want a pet go to a shelter and adopt, it won't cause you to break the bank and you will save an animals life for a good cause, not support a puppy/kitten Mills wallet.

As usual had a great experience.Have to German Shepherds from them that are amazing dogs10 months and 8 months.Great staff clean facility and prices are reasonable compared to other shepherd breeders and pet stores.Would recommend this place to anyone

Cutest puppies, but ugly personalities for employees. Was seriously considering a couple dogs for the family but the lady wouldn't allow my friends and I to look at more then 2. It's a shame, puppies need attention and love, considering they're locked in a cage all day. Almost seemed as if they didn't want me purchasing a puppy - the lady working was very pushy and wouldn't make conversation and was very short. The store wasn't busy what so ever. Will be adopting instead.

They used to support puppy mills, not sure if they still do... Also my grandmother had bought a puppy from here and after a week the puppy "Committed suicide" and ran straight into 5pm traffic on 115. I was completely devastated, my dad tried to comfort me by explaining that something must have been wrong with her mentally.However, the staff at this facility is so amazing- I mustered up the strength to go back in a couple years ago and a lady who worked there remembered me and asked about the dog. I told her what had happened and she could see that I was starting to cry and she gave me a big hug.

I have had a long relationship with Paws and Claws over the past 16 years and have never been disappointed with the dogs I have purchased or the knowledgeable and kind staff. Have purchased 4 dogs oldest is now 16. All are and have been healthy with great temperaments

I'm very happy with my experience with Pawz and Clawz. I bought my Cocker Spaniel there and he's brought joy to my life. He's very healthy and energetic. The staff advised me on the right way to acclimate him to his new life. He was on a high quality diet when we got him as well. Yes they are expensive but Joey came to us with all vaccines, and he had all necessary vet clinic visits for his age. I would be happy to bring home another dog or cat from this business.

This place needs to be shut down. Any breeder who truly loves their dogs would never sell to this place. The poor little dogs are in tiny cages and crying to get out. And the prices are so high no average person could afford them very well. The floor is sticky, the store smells and not one person spoke to us. If you want a dog find a responsible breeder.

Brian the owner and staff are amazing. I bought a ragdoll kitten from them. He came from a Maine breeder and I have all the paperwork and info on Andy. He is now 10months and very healthy. I have reffered friends to them and will continue let people know about the service they offer.
