Sheepscot General is one of the best things about this part of Maine. They are a health food store and cafe and farm all-in-one. Wonderful community vibe -smells delicious inside and the food tastes good too! They have tables inside and a back patio that overlooks the farm land. They also have special events so make sure you check out their website. Very family friendly also.

Great little store and restaurant in a nice and peaceful area.Workers are extremely nice and helpful not only regarding store related items, but also outside recommendations.Small food counter and nice sitting area.The pizza was fantastic! Not something that you expect in this area.Bread is also a great find too! We went a few days and it was always nice and fresh.They carry a lot of food items from local farmers and various other things.

On my way home to new Hampshire, I had to venture to Sheepscott's for a slice of their delicious quiche (today's option was jalapeno, and if did not disappoint. The flavor was perfect; just enough to taste the pepper flavoring)I also"had to have" two chocolate chip cookies for the ride to be savored closer to my Three hour ride but they didn't quite make it 🤣 - they were delicious as well (OH MY GOODNESS, SO GOOD!!!!)Be sure to pop in, and check them out! I love walking through the store because it is really chuck-full of amazing gift items, food, snacks, everything and more!Also, make sure that you grab a bite to eat, and then pick up a chicken pie for dinner - they are wicked good!!

This is a must-see place if you are in the area. The general store has all your needs and more. The staff is outgoing, friendly and helpful, in every aspect you can imagine. It is a one-stop kind of place and a place to hang out too. They offer cooked food and beverages that you never heard of. Most items are farm fresh and nicely prepared. They offer crafts from local residents and authors too. They offer book signings and more. I ordered a veggie sandwich and glad I did. All the vegetables were from the farm and fresh. The bread was baked that day along with all the other baked goods they offer. Please stop in for an experience that will last a lifetime. Make sure you plan to stay for a lesson on the history of how it all started and be sure to let them know that you really enjoyed it as I have.

Sheepscot General is a terrific stop for locally grown vegetables and meats, grocery items, bulk foods such as honey and grains, and wonderful variety of products and gifts from local artists. Over the years they’ve expanded their bakery and menu items, including fresh made bagels. A couple of highlights; how about potatoes au gratin with your breakfast? Their pizza started as a Friday night special and has since grown into a daily offering. Fabulous crust and creative toppings.Sheepscot General has created a community center and store that is welcoming and comfortable for families, filled with great food and local products, and really nice people.

This place is so unique it makes other unique places seem like a chain! But honestly, all of its great, employees are super friendly, the food is amazing. All around great experience, pop in for a visit.

I heard about the pizza! I was so excited I forgot to take a pic first! Pepperoni, kale, and garlic. Dang good! Aaaaaaand then I saw the cookies. Soooooo one of each. I'll be back!

The store, itself, has a friendly staff and lots of yummy items. I went with friends, mainly, to pick strawberries. It was fun and they were delicious. The farm is set in beautiful rolling hills.

Incredible general store with a deep selection of local goods grown in the area. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of goods being sold. Their bakery is great. My husband loved the donuts and he got a loaf of bread to try. I was excited to see that they offer gluten free options for sandwiches and pizza, and I will be back to try that next time!!

This is a gem! The Grocery items (including, the garlic butter, cream cheese, crackers) and selection of beers and wines were expansive!We got a slice a pizza for the ride which was beyond tasty as we wish would we have got an entire pie. Pizza is a must try!

It's an incredible farm and store, took my niece, sister, fiance to go strawberry picking, the strawberries are organic, delicious, and very affordable. The store is awesome, they've got a good selection of high quality grocery products, as well as a little Cafe where you can enjoy a relaxing dining experience. The bakery alone is more than worth it to come back for, very affordable baked goods, breads and bagels. I got 2 quarts of strawberries, some sodas and ramen, as well as two donuts and one huge chocolate chip cookie for $20. I will be back very many more times, I cannot recommend this wholesome store enough! 11/10

They did not have knowledge about their own products. There was also a group of annoying teenagers who were yelling and running around. It's definitely not worth stopping in.

I had a nice visit today for lunch and strawberry picking. It was the quintessential Maine market and the strawberries were amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I was a little perplexed by my corned beef rueben at lunch. I didn't mind paying $16 for it, but I didn't taste any corning spices, it was just shredded "beef." The sandwich also wasn't grilled nearly long enough. But I loved the homemade purple sauerkraut. It's a cute place with a very nice staff.

What a delight! Wonderfully curated selection of goods available, it's a real treat to pursue the shelves here. As well the cafe was delicious, I look forward to eating here again! The fresh-baked bread was one of the best I have purchased in the area! The staff was lovely as well.

Oh my wow! This general store offers the items we want without the clutter of those things we don't.The store's environment is welcoming and no nonsense.Locally made items, to include beautiful handmade marionettes with satisfying action, were for sale.The woman checking customers out was off-putting but her behavior was easy to overlook in the context of such a thoughtful store.

Store is on a farm in Amish area, but no Amish crafts. Wonderful bakery and deli with small eating area. Extensive wine/beer selections. Fresh produce, small section with grocery and personal care items bulk baking items. Clean and well ordered. Wheelchair accessible, friendly staff

My in laws live near so we decided to stop by - to eat the Amish good foods we didn’t see any amish people.. disappointed and the staff there wasn’t friendly at all!! we said hello and good bye on the way out. the lady and man wasn’t busy … we didn’t get any response back … SO don’t get your hopes up if your planning a trip there !

A little off the beaten path, but worth the scenic drive to get there. Excellent fresh made sandwiches and baked goods. Lots of locally grown vegetables and dairy products. Can’t make it to Whitefield? They can also be found at the Hallowell Farmers Market on Saturdays.
