It's sad, but the person managing the store has no clue what she is doing, the place is a disaster. The good part you can alwaays tell when the store manager is lying, her 💋 move

On Nov. 12,2023, I went to this store to make a purchase. It is a 10 mile journey from home. After selecting items, I needed to use a toilet in the worst way; however, I was told " NO RESTROOM FOR PUBLIC USE". I have been able to use it in the past.I put my products back and promptly left. I won't shop at your store. You are losing $1000.00 a month. No biggie. I also won't give any rides to your store, going forward. Who knows how much money you might not get every month. There's plenty of other places to shop! Dollar general, dollar tree and family dollar... All the same! We want your money but we don't care about you. Only speaking from past experiences at Howland Maine Dollar General. Thank You and have a nice day! 👍👍👍

Not your typical dollar store. This one has a wide variety of products for the daily needs at quite fair prices. Super friendly people working there. Nice size parking. Very good set up and quite well maintained. 5 stars

It was busy today some wearing masks and a lot not. I got two bottles of wine got them in the little hand thing and it hit a rack slipped and one bottle broke. They said dont worry. Hate when that happens but they were very good about it. Thanks Doller General and I'm sorry. Hate to waste it.

This particular Dollar General is the only store like it in our area so we visit at least once a week. They have a variety of items, from frozen food to clothes, to holiday decorations, I refer to it as a small WalMart. The service is not always great. I have waited in line a few different times while the employee sat in the back room, visibly talking on the phone. Most of the employees don't smile often, but there are a couple who are extremely friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised, clean and well stocked shelves.I'd give it a 5 star rating, except I wanted cash back, and they charge a convenience fee, most retailers do not.

Scary stop because I needed a bathroom and thought it would be safe. Employees grunted and pointed, bathroom sink and toilet were completely brown, rusted. Employees then did not look me in the eye or speak English to me when I asked them questions!!! BEWARE!

The store was completely trashed. There were numerous items strewn in aisles making two people in an aisle at once pretty tricky. There were approximately 15 people waiting to be checked out. It appeared that there was only one clerk working.

I have been to the Dollar General in Howland, Maine a hand full of times and have yet to be greeted by a nice employee. This was long before the stress of Covid so that is not the reason. Dollar General has great sales prices and I would go alot more often if they were at least pleasant in any way.

Awful customer service!!! Anytime i go to a store most customers expect to be greated with a hello, did you find everything okay, etc. Not at this place. Half the time i ask where something is they just point, they aren't knowledgable on their products i asked if they had a a certain item they said they never have carried it i found it my self.... half the time they don't even tell you the price when checking out they expect you to tlook up. I go here almost daily. I wish corporate wpuld step up and make their employees have friendly customer service

It has a little more stuff then some of the other dollar generals i been in different states so at least its a small variety of items u need i would give that more a 4.5 and only the missing .5 for items that is missing that are grouped with the products you are looking for

Just being fair to the businesses that I rate a 5: DG is a no frills, bare floor establishment that provides a wide variety of goods from grocery to pharmacy.
