Enjoyed a Saturday evening ice cream stop here in early September! The line wasn’t too long, and there was plenty of parking. They had a good amount of flavor options, and everything is homemade! I loved the apple pie a la mode special. There were picnic tables outside, as well as an indoor area with tables and a restroom.

Great spot to get delicious ice cream. Came here with my family and dog. Everyone go something they loved and there was plenty of seating to sit with our dog. The quality is good and the servings aren't overly sized. Will definitely be going again when I am in the area or at the beach nearby.

Big Daddy’s rightfully won best ice cream in Maine, and I’d put their homemade ice cream up against any shop in the northeast and maybe country - it’s that good. We stopped at the Wells location on a New England trip and, let me tell you, this ice cream alone made it worthwhile. Great product and even better people working there. You can’t go wrong with any of the flavors, and it’ll be our first stop next time we’re in the area.

Big daddy's is the reason i gain weight on vacation. I reccomend the salty caramel crunch, cherry chocolate chip, and the bourbon maple pecan.

It was our first time and the ice cream was delicious! They offer a large selection of ice creams, along with frozen yogurt options. There are also daily specials, and somerhing I've not seen before, and ice cream flight! This includes your choice of 4 ice creams to sample. The flight portions are smaller than their scoops, but still a good amount. Will be trying that on our next visit!

For ice cream connoisseurs, this place is a must stop!! They have a huge selection of flavors and options and everything we tried was great, including some relatively unique flavors! The service was great—very polite young ladies who were very quick about their service. Definitely recommend!!!

Stopped at my new usual favorite ice cream shop before going back home to CT! Once again didn't disappoint!! They don't call it big daddy's for nothing, I got 2 scoops in waffle cone and it was amazing.!!! Can't wait till I come back next time!!

The ice cream was delicious and the servings were huge. The employees are friendly and enthusiastic. Keep in mind that they pack the ice cream really tightly so a medium is a lot of ice cream. My wife and I couldn't finish the medium. Not even close. We got the seasonal blueberry pie as its our favorite Maine flavor.

Without a doubt the best ice cream in Maine! Annoying they only take cash. I always assume cash only places aren’t paying their taxes. At $6 for a small dish of ice cream, the credit card fees aren’t going to kill them. If you aren’t 100% sure what an ice cream is, save yourself some heartbreak and ask. I got the salted caramel crunch on one visit. Unfortunately assumed the crunch would be bits of caramel, but they were chocolate covered pretzels and I don’t like chocolate.

Hate to be a Karen. Ice cream was great but there was a gaggle of little girls inside the window and we couldn’t keep their attention long enough to order a 2 scoop waffle cone. My wife had to repeat her order three times. I get it’s a summer job but they’d have had plenty of time to screw around uninterrupted if they’d got the order the first time she said it.

How have we driven by this place all these years and not stopped by? After we saw HUGE LONG LINES one night, we decided that there must be something here. WOW. THIS is great ice cream! Our favorite is their blueberry. Like nothing you've ever had anywhere before. TRY IT.

I happen to find this ice cream place my whole family wanted to get ice cream after a trip to Drake's Island. We didn't expect much because we have our favorite ice cream parlor. But we were really happy with the taste. It was definitely one of the best ice cream parlor we've ever been to. The price is also very reasonable. We will definitely come back here!

Indoor and outdoor seating and ordering. Looking for non-milk options? They have multiple flavors. Need food to compliment your ice cream? They have tasty hot dogs and other food items. Conveniently located just off of one of the main drags in Wells, ME Big Daddy's is easy to swing by even if you live in or are visiting other towns in the area.

The ice cream is great. Its creamer than most others. I like to compare it to how creamy soft serve can be but with all the benefits of hard ice cream which in this case are superb. Fresh local natural fruits lend their flavor to options like their wild Maine blueberry ice cream. They also serve frozen yogurt options which, while not as great as their ice cream, is still very good.Now on to the staff. Usually they are hard working young women and men who handle the summer hordes that descend upon the region however it seems as though they sometimes forget things like that they are working in food service. For example, tonight the girl taking our order spent well over a minute with her hands deep in her copious hair. Now this is a warm space, on a warm day and these girls are moving around quite a bit, so the sweat factor is a definite issue. Add to that the potential other issues such as poor hygiene or any other itch inducing critters and we got creeped out. Luckily before we had to stop her, another young women grabbed the order and served us but she did NOT wash her hands after this extended hair exploration and returning to taking orders and serving food. Just be aware. Cleanliness is not necessarily guaranteed here.
