Absolutely a great store! We have purchased hundreds and dollars of Ben Moore paint and paint supplies there. The main reason we do so is Rachel who is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She never fails to give in depth recommendations and will tell you honestly whether she feels one product works better than another for a particular application or even if it is something with which she is not familiar yet. I drive 25 minutes to go to this store, past at least four other stores. They have a great variety of other hardware supplies. Absolutely worth the trip to seek Rachel’s help with paint etc.

I have worked with Rachel Ray, Paint Specialist at Aubuchon Hardware in Wells Maine. If you want an expert in the paint business that knows her product, she is your go to gal. I was preparing to paint a large bedroom in an older home with a painted wall that had not been updated in years. Rachel recommended the right Benjamin Moore paint, the right paint brushes, and gave me some awesome tips to do the job. Oh, did I mention she is awesome to work with...great personality with plenty of enthusiasm and encouragement for a novice painter. I will never go to another Aubuchon Hardware store nor anyone but Rachel to get all my painting jobs done. I could go on but then I will probably end up waiting in a long line behind other satisfied customers that Rachel has serviced!! Another tip from Rachel....Aura paint is awesome for full coverage and a smooth finish! Thank you Rachel. Debbie

Love this hardware store! I’ve never had a bad experience here. The employees are always so nice, friendly and helpful. The store is clean. Love seeing the kitty romping around the store. And they have a fantastic selection of greeting cards which I’ve never seen in a hardware store! Most importantly they are well stocked whenever I need something hardware store related! This is my go to hardware store in Wells for my business. The team here is great and always very helpful. The woman who works in the paint area is a pleasure to work with and she's always in a good mood! This is rare to find today. Thank you guys I always look forward to stopping in.

My online order to be picked up at the store, was not pulled and set aside in advance. And neither the clerk or forklift guy helped my wife find the right thing or load it into the car. I'm not enthused.

I have been a customer of this store since the mid 70's always a very pleasant experience, until last April 20th. Th CS person ignored me only when I asked were the pump I needed was, he told me either 10 or 11. After finding it in 11 I checked out at his register proceeded to tell him isle 11. Never said thank you to me poor customer service.

The staff was very helpful. Explained the different fasteners and which ones would work best for my needs. Also, the gift card would not scan so he patiently tried a couple of times and then keyed in (what seemed like 1000 numbers) to make it work. Great Service!!!!

Huge selection of products. Very very helpful employees working there and if one employee don't have the awnser......they definitely have someone on shift that will have the answer. The store itself is huge for a hardware store. The product they carry and have in stock is unlike any other hardware store in the area (including Sanford and Kennebunk). My overall visit was great. I was treated like a human being and not "just another customer'. All of my questions were answered and I was shown exactly where the item I needed was located and also turned on to a better brand then what I normally use and believe it or not.......turns out........the brand I was turned onto provides a much much much better product that is way easier to work with. In turn this made my experience 100 times better and I will definitely recommend Aubuchon Hardware to all my friends, family, and anyone reading this review. :)

Your return policy is obsolete vs your competitors. I returned some mulch bags a few weeks after purchase but i had already checked my credit card slips against my credit card bill and discarded the individual slips. as a result i didn’t have the actual receipt when i returned the product. Your representative couldn’t look up the transaction so i got the lowest price ever sold for that product which was considerable less than i had paid. Your competitors can look up the history of transactions and refund the price you paid. I will make every effort to buy from them

Aubuchon had everything I needed at fair prices. My order was prepared quickly, and communication great. In a recent order, they phoned when one item was out of stock, and offered a substitute. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I wanted contact free pickup because of COVID-19, and they obliged. I’ve shopped at Aubuchon for years, and have always found them helpful.

Friday we stopped here on the way to the beach. Before going, I had called to check and see if they have what we were looking for. The employee, a gentleman, was really helpful with all of my questions about the specific beach gear. The gentleman gave us all of the information that we needed, even checking on the specifics himself by going to the items.We swam in the ocean for hours, but when we weren’t, we used the items on this nice beach day.Thanks!!
