Excellent natural grocer. I'm so happy I found this gem. Their produce is well well cared for. I never see anything rotting or not acceptable for sale. All the produce I've bought tastes better than anything I've found in supermarkets. Quality is Obviously their Top Priority. They have a great selection of organic pantry items, local meats and dairy, vitamins and supplements, and even great dog and cat food. Yes, some things might be a bit more expensive than your average grocery store. But I've found sale items are actually much cheaper than the average grocery store. I'd much rather pay a little more for top quality, organic, non gmo, and local nutritious food for my family. Health is wealth. Supporting local small family farms is a must in this country for the health of our ecosystem and economy. I'm glad to see Uncle Dean's has that in mind as well. Support your local farmer and grocer!

This place has the best nuts. Seriously, the prepackaged pay by the pound “nut mix roasted salted deluxe” are the best tasting nuts I’ve ever had. I’ve gotten them on numerous occasions and they’ve always been fresh and just so good.

This is Waterville's health food store. Bulk spices, nuts, grains. Peanut Butter ground in the store. Wine, cosmetics and organic produce. New ownership as of early 2016. New ownership seems successful, no drastic turn for the worst.

Wow! Such an incredible store. Finally, a breath of fresh air, so happy to have found the friendly folks here at Uncle Dean's. Everyone has an amazing attitude that brings joy to shoppers in their store. Like many others, I have a medical condition that prevents me from putting a mask on, I felt welcomed here and wasn't discriminated against like the way I am a lot of other places in town. I REALLY appreciate all the employees here and the inventory has excellent choices. I will be back next week!

They always have what I need - produce appears fresh and well stocked. Lots of organic - still not sure about the organic bananas, not quite getting that concept. If what you’re looking for is healthy, they have it, and staff is very helpful when you can’t locate a specific item. Highly recommended!!!

Great store! Smells great, well organized & excellent prices for fiddleheads. I come here for bulk items as a vegan i appreciate their selection of beans & nuts. Plenty of dairy & non vegan items tho too for those that are interested. Easy to find location & lots of parking.

LOVE this place! Discovered it after searching for a place nearby that sells Three Trees almond milk (no additives) and have completely switched all of my grocery shopping over to Uncle Dean’s since then. Clean store and I feel safe bringing my 4 year old inside with me and the employees are always so helpful and knowledgeable and always smiling. Organic and fresh and local food and they support local vendors on Saturdays! I cannot say enough, love it here so much I go more than once a week sometimes!

We stopped in while visiting Waterville. I was happy to see that they are set up much like our local natural food stores in the Louisville, KY area where I am from. They have a wide variety of foods, nutritional supplements and even natural household products. We also found a huge bottle of local maple syrup for a really great price! We also found some great little ginger chews...perfect for those long car rides! We will definitely visit again when in the area.

Been going to this place since in their other location at JFK Mall. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Can special order on some items. Large self serve area for spices. Now they've added an area for coffee to go. Vitamins, teas, wines, pet foods, cleaning products, personal products, flours and such in bulk, fresh vegetables and fruits local as well as some neat gift ideas. Check it out...

I love shopping at Uncle Deans! If I have questions there is always some knowledgeable person to answer and with a smiling face. When I head south for the winter I miss my shopping and when I return it is such a relief to have them so close. If I need something and they don’t carry it they order it for me. Honestly, I’m really disappointed in Uncle Deans and their handling of the mask mandate, and the pandemic. I’ve observed employees not wearing masks in closely knitted groups, and not wearing masks correctly while in customer trafficked areas. I tried to overlook this at first, or to make excuses, mostly because this is one of the stores I can visit in my area due to dietary restrictions. Today, I observed a customer who was not respecting social distancing and was completely maskless. When I asked about why they weren’t enforcing masks, I was told that because they have a sign up encouraging mask use and had complimentary masks available, they were not going to press the issue further. This is frustrating on so many levels. This does not align with any other shopping experience I’ve had in this area, or the state itself. Why doesn’t the health and well-being of all customers matter? You’ll probably give me a canned response, if I get any at all, about how I can order on the phone and there is only so much you can do here, but the truth is - you aren’t doing enough. Through this policy, you are communicating that you would rather avoid confrontation than do what is right for your customers.Since my health and well-being is of no consequence to you, I’m sure losing my money won’t be either, but please do better for the sake of your other customers.

Best place to go for local organics. Great selection of CBD products. Helpful n friendly staff and the place smells absolutely great. I travel from dover foxcroft to shop at uncle deans and my friends that I recommended also travel over 150 miles just to shop at this amazing store. I tell everyone I kno about this place and they have all been very glad that I have. Highly recommend.... We came to buy Whoopie Pies from Cape Whoopie Pie Company. They had them in many flavors. Then, I saw the Bumbleberry Tart from Little Lad's: evaporated cane syrup is the only sugar, and the tart was packed with berries!

I love Uncle Deans but will not be returning. Anti vaccine propaganda in the windows, employees not wearing masks. There is not much use to eating well, if the employees are spreading germs. They have bread on display that is not wrapped… everyone can handle. What are they thinking?

I used to shop occasionally at Uncle Dean's before it was under new ownership. Since then, I've been buying more frequently as they seem to offer better specials and more grocery options than before. Business also seems to have picked up a bit since then, and it's easy to see why.I can't comment on the quality of service in store in recent months. Since UD's began offering curbside pick up in the spring of 2020, I've done all of my shopping there through that service.Uncle Dean's was among the first local stores to start offering curbside pick up. I'm thrilled they recently began offering online ordering with the option to pay ahead, which is convenient and helps them stay competitive. Though the pandemic is waning, it remains easier than walking through narrow grocery aisles in a packed store.What makes Uncle Dean's stand out from chain stores is its personal service. Every UD's associate has been polite, friendly, efficient, and helpful. After a rare mistake, they've been quick to correct it. Throughout the pandemic, I realize many of them may have worked long hours and are among the front-line workers who are more exposed to the coronavirus. That can increase their stress. But, despite that, everyone seems happy. I've rarely waited more than a few minutes, even during busy times, to receive my order. UD's provides excellent, first-class service in an age when customer service is sliding. Thanks, Uncle Dean's, for putting a smile on my face and keeping me fed safely.
