I stayed 2 nights with my boyfriend and loved it. Hawks inn should be called Hawks heaven inn, because it felt like a little charming oasis. Steve the host was so kind, the room was very tidy and charming. The banana bread was incredible and the coffee might be one of the best I've ever had? The area is very quiet and peaceful and Steve has some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat ! Would recommend such a great place !

Really great place. Loved it. Certain people have a talent for hospitality and Steve is one of them. He renovated the house in a way that is so comfortable and maintains the antique house and garden’s integral charm. The common room configured to overlook the garden is quietly glorious. Painstakingly attentive as well. Can’t recommend enough. We travelers are lucky to have Steve in our world!Noteworthy details: Unusually wide upstairs hallway that doubles as a relaxation room. Lovely

We stopped here on our way further north and were blown away. The place is clean and beautifully renovated. The woodwork and antiques make it feel cozy, but aren't overwhelming. And Steven is a most gracious host--makes you feel right at home. His banana bread is A+!Even though this was a chance stop, we're definitely coming back here! I would recommend it to anyone looking for quiet rest and a pleasant talk or two with fellow guests.

Comfortable, cozy rooms, nicely appointed and super clean. Steve, the owner/host was a pleasure to talk with and has done a beautiful job with this 200 year old house and garden. There is a roomy common area for stretching out on sofas and there are tables for dining. Additionally there are several seating clusters in the large backyard garden. The location is quiet, but convenient to the nearby town and other attractions. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Loved the relaxed atmosphere. Very clean, comfortable, and fairly priced. Steve is a welcoming host, patient with all kinds of questions. The fridge in the main room is a great convenience for guests, and the morning's complimentary banana bread is a real plus. The back yard has gardens and is a lovely place to sit. Just one caveat: this is an old house and some of the ceilings are low so very tall people might want to inquire about the ceiling height of the rooms.

Steve is an amazing host. I arrived one day before without any notice, he helped me. If you go to Anatomy Trains College. I highly recommend it. It is only 5 minutes by car from College. Save you stress from getting lost. Our telephone satelite was cut off and my sister and I were lost.Very clean and comfortable.Highly recommended it.Juliana OR

This is such a wonderful place. The house is a treasure, with beautiful old wooden floors and lovely high ceilings, and the grounds are stunning. There are so many thoughtful details I couldn't really list them all, but to me the experience left nothing lacking. The host is both helpful and welcoming, and I appreciated his advice on local restaurants and good routes to travel. Overall a genuinely great experience.Rooms: This is an old building, but the rooms are completely comfortable. I really liked the wooden floors and braided carpets. I appreciated the charging stations close to the bed, the extra towels available, and the dedicated refrigerator space. My room in particular had a nice view of the garden.Food & drinks: Every morning there is coffee brewed from freshly ground beans, and home baked banana bread. They are delicious.Noteworthy details: I can not stress enough how much I appreciated the innkeeper. He was unfailingly helpful and kind, and my stay went much more smoothly because of it.

We had a wonderful stay at Hawks House! The inn is in a great location to visit downtown Damariscotta and the other small towns. Our room was spotless with very comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, lots of towels and A/C. The black out curtains were a great touch too! A little noisy right on the road, but the traffic is minimal at night.Steve, the owner, takes incredible care of the inn and backyard gardens. Be sure to spend a morning sipping coffee in the sunshine next to the flowers. Another bonus… a fridge for guests to use, which is so handy for leftovers, etc. while on the road!

This is a delightful early 19th century, restored farm house nestled in the woods. Homely and welcoming. Lovely ensuite room with comfortable beds. Small kitchen and lounge area for guests with access to the porch and garden. The house is furnished with interesting items collected by the friendly and very helpful host, Steve. Homemade banana bread, coffee and tea provided for breakfast. We certainly recommend a visit.

We felt so at home during our stay that we both expected to see our dog when we went into our room. Steve is a wonderful, personable host. The rooms we had were comfortable and quite, add the homemade banana bread and we will definitely be back.

The Hawks House Inn exceeded our expectations. We were on a last minute trip from Boston and called en route. Steve was very kind and accommodating. We arrived at night and checked ourselves in to a clean, cozy, and super comfy room. The facility is neatly well-kept and feels like home. Couldn’t recommend it enough for an unbeatable value for money. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Stayed there 5 years ago with a lot of family, and loved it so returned for 3 nights this week with friends from Germany as we traveled through the area. We are all senior citizens. It was their first time in the States. Their first night was at the Hilton in Boston, then 3 nights here. Steve did not disappoint. He was as gracious as ever. They said it was way better than the Hilton! We loved our coffee and banana bread on the screened porch together each morning. Clean and cozy! Visit Pemaquid Lighthouse and beach, Thompson Ice House, and be sure to eat at Shaw’s Lobster Pound! Love this place!

This is the perfect respite from the fancier places that charge a lot more. I stay here frequently. The rooms are always neat and clean and smell good (as in no smell). I like the older antiquey furnishings and décor. The lighting is bright, the water tastes good, the rooms are quiet, the WiFi is strong, the AC outlets are conveniently located, the linens are crisp and the towels are soft, the beds are comfortable, there are no in-room TVs, and there are black-out curtains. Steve's banana bread is fantastic, Steve is a great host, and he may even let you use his kitchen. Why would you stay anywhere else?

My husband and I came up to Maine for a wedding. We were a couple of Jersey folks out of our element in the cold north, but Steve provided us a warm and cozy place to rest. This place felt more like being welcomed into somebody's home than the sterile hotel experience we've had during the pandemic. Waking up to homemade banana bread and an extensive choice of teas was wonderful. The whole inn is gorgeous and Steve obviously takes very good care of the place inside and out. As a garden lover, it was a delight to see thriving garden beds with colorful flowers and rainbow chard. We stayed in room 3 and enjoyed a hot shower, firm bed, and ample blankets to snuggle into. It was a wonderful stay.

The BEST place to stay in and around S Bristol! We cannot recommend Hawks House highly enough! Staying with Steve is like staying with a friend in that he is amazingly warm and welcoming and makes sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay, but better than a friend in that you have all of your own space :) Morning coffee is amazing and his banana bread is known throughout the cove! The location is central to so much to do, especially if you’re into hiking, kayaking, and great food! Can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Hawks House, and we found our host, Steve, congienial and informative. Hawks House is centrally located on the "Maine Oyster Trail". There is no shortage of great restaurants and activities of all sorts in the surrounding area. Host Steve was beyond helpful in choosing where to go, and his candid assessments proved to be spot on. We can't say enough about how wonderfully helpful Steve has been as a guide to the area.Hawks House is clean and well maintained, and Steve makes every effort to insure the comfort of his guests. A bar with coffee, water for tea, and banana bread is a welcome start to every morning. A good sized refrigerator is available to guests, and was very welcome. A reading area and a pleasant porch were delightful. We especially enjoyed the outdoor garden with its Adirondack chairs: perfect for quaffing champagne for a special occasion. There's plenty of convenient parking. At this point I'm going to beg your indulgence. I'm going to step up to my pulpit, so leave here if you'd rather not entertain my rant. I've given Hawks House a well deserved 5 stars. Steve and Hawks House should not lose points to my opinion. I should say, as well, that Hawks House does not bill itself as a B&B. I would like to note, however, that an increasing number of B&Bs no longer serve breakfast. To be clear, it isn't that we need breakfast: we are on a tour of Down East Maine Seafood Culinary delights. What we do miss is the congeniality that comes about when fellow guests share their experiences. We have found that folks who frequent B&Bs seek out the road less traveled, the one where delights abound in quiet corners.I've spoken with folks who run B&Bs, and I get it. Covid has raised health concerns that hadn't been there before, and caused owners to take a financial hit. Complicating all this is US: we compare prices online where a difference of a couple dollars may dictate our choice. And, a further complication: one bad review, fair or not, can sully an otherwise wonderful establishment. So, Steve, pardon my rant. Thank you for our wonderful stay with you. It has truly been memorable, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We had a lovely stay at the Hawks House Inn. The room was very clean and quaint, great coffee and banana bread for breakfast and there was a nice place to sit in the morning watching the bird feeders. Steve was so hospitable and took our late reservation to accommodate after other plans for a nearby stay fell through. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We loved staying at Hawks House Inn! The owner, Steve, was extremely accommodating - even texted us pictures of where to park when we weren’t able to check in until after dark. We had a fantastic room with an en-suite bathroom that was all extremely clean and well kept up. We slept great on the comfy King bed, and in the morning Steve had coffee and delicious homemade banana bread for us. He helped us plan our day in Damariscotta, and answered all our questions about Maine. We definitely recommend Hawks House Inn, and will stay here again!

Lovely place to stay in a lovely location!Steve Hawks makes every one of his guests feel welcome. His homemade muffins, quiches and banana bread make breakfast a delight -- and the screened-in porch is a great place to start a Summer morning. The inn has many open guest areas with comfy seating, fireplaces and great decor. My visit was in July, but I think this would also be a wonderful place to visit in the Autumn or Winter. Very cozy!

This place is fantastic. A slice of post card New England. Our room was beautiful, well kept, and comfortable. You feel like you've stepped into historic Maine here, but with all the comforts of home. A unique, historic, and cozy home. Guests even have their own full kitchen at their disposal any time, day or night. The owner, Steve, went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Tending to our every need while still giving us space to feel like the place was ours. He built us a great fire, prepared a nice breakfast, and pointed us to the best local eateries. He even welcomed me into his personal kitchen to pepper him with cooking questions while he prepared an amazing beef stew for a local charity event. Would stay there again without question!

Steve was warm and welcoming, offered a fresh and plentiful breakfast with fabulous coffee. We stayed in room 2 which was clean and the bed was comfortable. Steve was most helpful to give travel/ tourist suggestions and converse with his guests. I would most certainly return to Hawks House Inn and recommend it to friends.
