Great people they really know there stuff. there all about horses but they do also sell feed for chickens and etc. Will b back again soon definitely recommend for all your horse needs from helmets to boots to saddles they have it all and they are very helpful if your a beginner

Hemp hills is a good place. I got my first horse from them recently. While the horse didn’t work out for us I’m very glad I got her from Hemphills. Emily is wonderful and she is letting us exchange her for a horse that better fits us. She has very very understanding and not judge mental at all. And all the staff was really nice and great at helping us. We got all our equipment there and they fit everything to our horse for us to make sure everything was good. I only gave 4 stars because we needed to exchange our horse for a different one. Overall I have no regrets getting my first horse from them. I’m very glad I did.

Although we didn't buy a horse here, we had a first-rate experience with Emily and her team. They are knowledgeable, kind and really take the time to try to match you up with horses that are suitable for you. If we didn't live hundreds of miles away, I know we would be doing business here. There was no push to buy a particular horse and Emily was very flexible with our crazy schedule. Well-stocked tack shop, also on premises.

Their clothing and riding boots are over priced but the staff here are really kind and helpful. The grain is a great price and they carry blue seal which is the best in my opinion. Definitely worth the trip

Terrible sale barn. Over priced horses with no past history. Often times with terrible feet and sick! They purchase horses that are getting ready to ship to slaughter. It's a game of Russian roulette.. "Barn manager" has a bad attitude and not humble at all. I'd highly recommend people staying away and purchasing a horse from a private individual rather than supporting this company. A lot of horses have shipping fever. And horses aren't "what they say they are." Not friendly, not helpful, not truthful, and not proper.

So I went to hemphills today. They have had a bunch of horses sold in the last week which is awesome! However I feel like I was immediately judged on my price range. No one ever ask what it was (which is I don't have a limit for the perfect fit). I asked about a few advertised and was immediately met with wellthey are expensive.... So I can't look them? You don't know me you don't pay my bills... Just disappointed bc I was hoping to find a horse for my mom and daughter and wasn't taken seriously :( I am a good home too an LVT with a VTS in emergency and critical care. I've owned horses since I was 6 years old I knew what I wanted but no one listened. Hopefully this saves someone else's time. They only get a second star bc the girl who rode and got the horse ready was trying to do a good job.

I was brought to Hemphill's by my girlfriend who shopped here as a kid. I was really impressed by the various options of horse & riding attire as well as the knick knacks. I left with a "horse barn boyfriend" hat & a free candy cane! Would go again on my next trip to Maine.

I bought a horse (queen Elizabeth) about 2 weeks ago. After she had been here less than 1 week, I had vet check her PCR. ****PCR RESULTS POSITIVE FOR STRANGLES with moderate shedding*****. I notified Emily who was not concerned as she claims was not showing signs of illness while she was there. I have 2 ponies in my barn. Now, on top of having an infectious horse that can't go anywhere in the horse community for boarding and no eventing until she is clear, now I have to worry about the safety of my ponies. Also in addition to paying almost 5k, I now have mounting vet bills. In my opinion, Hemphills is very shady and irresponsiblly run. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. If anyone bought a horse from them this month PLEASE get it checked!

FYI,When dealing with horse purchases, Once you walk out the door, you own it. You will not get a refund if it does not work out, only an exchange. I can see if you keep the horse or use the horse but when you realize right away when you get home that it is not going to be the right one then there should be some understanding.Lesson learned.

Rode a horse, no back ground, tail was bald in areas asked what happened, owner didnt know if ot was worms, or what happenend? For 3500.00 was the sale. On a 17 yr old. No history no my cup of tea. I assume they buy in bulk, again buy low, sell high. Again keeps owners from jumping and giving a 3500.00 horse back to kill pens, they are helping. So thats an awesome. Thing if you really want a horse, thats ridable now check them out!

Horrible experience the owner said we could do a payment plan on a filly we really wanted with half down last night so we made a appointment to see her this morning when we arrived she said she would no longer do A payment plan because she had so much interest..that's just a person who goes back on their word and is greedy unscrupulous business person...your word means everything as a business owner I hope it suffers at some point I was shocked!!!! I will only go to JCB now and will tell everyone I see about how Emily treated us!! Not that she cares because she doesn't go elsewhere people!! HONOR WHAT you say or your word means nothing!!!

Bought a horse on Tuesday went to pick it up Monday and she has shipping fever no call saying she was sick they just pushed me out the door with a bottle of pills not enough either and just kept saying oh it’s just a cold so now I have a sick horse on my hand multiple other people have sick horses too now please use caution
