Sending our lab, Huckleberry, to Peace and Unity Pet Services was easily one of the best decisions we could have made for our family. Before training with Chelsea, we had a very stressful household. Huckleberry could not be trusted around my two small children, could not be taken on walks due to constant pulling and jumping, he was a nightmare at vet appointments or when visitors would come to the house. Huckleberry would demand constant attention through biting and jumping. He would scoop up and destroy anything that fell onto the floor in a matter of seconds. We tried many other trainers who focused solely on positive reinforcement which was not sustainable for us. We were at our wits end in our inability to control him. All of this changed when we sent him to PUPS. The turn around in his behavior is absolutely mind blowing and sometimes it is hard to believe he is the same dog. He is patient, obedient, gentle with the kids, and a dog I am proud to show off. He is a pleasure on walks now and doesn't pull, lunge or bite at the leash. He can safely be outside with the kids while they play and no longer wants to tackle them over. He has successfully gone on many adventures with us, including hikes, and breweries. The training has strengthened our bond and instilled trust from both sides. He has been a perfect, well-behaved dog. Chelsea was also a pleasure to work with. She is very easy going and took her time to really explain how to maintain proper training. I could go on and on about how incredible our experience was with PUPS, but overall, it was the best investment we could have made for a lifetime of happiness with our Huck. If you need a happier life with you dog, do not hesitate to use PUPS, you won’t regret it!

I cannot say enough about Chelsea! My two Great Danes (3 year old siblings) were getting progressively worse in their behavior. Especially Sulley, who had taken to throwing himself at the window when a delivery truck came in the yard and then he would turn on his sister if she got in the way. He was not fun to have around, had to be kenneled when people came in, etc. He went to Chelsea for a three week program, and Jayne joined him for two, as she wasn't quite as problemsome as he was. She needed more fine tuning in her manners. They came home on December 22, and they were like new dogs. It was worth every penny we invested in their training. Over the holidays we had lots of people, including some they had never met, in and out and both dogs stayed relaxed on place command, and were super chill. I am able to walk them both together on heel, which will be useful as we spend our winter in Florida in a neighborhood, which they are not used to. We live in the woods and they are used to quiet and no other dogs. I am overjoyed with the work Chelsea did, and I am so grateful to have peace in my household again!!

My wife and I took our 8-year-old Aussie to Chelsea to help us control her reactivity, and we are very happy with the training she received with Chelsea and Phelan. Of course this is also about training the humans, and we learned so much about not just what to do but the theory behind the training and exercises. I would recommend Peace and Unity to any dog owners for any situation. Thanks!

I can not say enough good things about PUPS. When we adopted our dog as a puppy in February 2020, he showed guarding and territorial tendencies early on, and we tried to put a stop to it, but while some things got better, others got much worse. He'd been kicked out of daycare for fighting with other dogs, and early this year I was at the end of my rope after within a few weeks he'd bit a ups driver and all three of us, including our daughter. I reached out to Chelsea because something had to change and I didn't know what else to do. We enrolled him in the 4 week Save my Dog program, and in the meantime she gave us some tips on things to do that would help in the meantime. Those alone were a game changer. But the program really saved us all. PUPS was able to not only recondition and train him, but really gave us the training and knowledge we were missing to be able to be better for him. And while he may not ever be "perfect", the change we've seen in him has been amazing, and we now have the understanding and tools to continue working with him, and are living much more harmoniously. I also know I'll always be able to reach out to Chelsea with any questions or concerns I have in the future, and she really puts the effort into maintaining access for her graduates. PUPS is absolutely worth it, they are nothing short of amazing.

Before my husband and I sent our pups to PUPS, we were becoming very overwhelmed. Neither of our dogs walked well on leash, and both were reactive on walks. Our Shepherd barked and jumped in every building we walked into. Our beagle mix was afraid of and reactive to men and other dogs, and had even gotten into a few fights with other dogs. She was also difficult for us to train even with simple commands, as we couldn’t figure out what motivated her. We were starting to feel like we would never be able to bring them anywhere with us. Choosing Chelsea and Phelan at PUPS was the best decision we could have made for them. They not only taught our dogs clear expectations and boundaries, but also taught us how to keep up with their training at home. The difference in our dogs now is incredible. We can bring our dogs to family events and even to football games or in stores without worrying about how they will react and we even get compliments on their behavior. Walks are now a breeze. Our previously anxious mix is now a happy carefree pup now that she knows expectations. We are so very thankful for everything Chelsea and Phelan did to help us and have recommended them to multiple people since getting our dogs back!

10/10 for this incredible company. If you’re struggling with your dog don’t waste your time - go to the professionals! I was super impressed with the transparency and all of the information provided before we made a leap to purchase the 4-week board + train package. They are incredibly fair, kind and knowledgeable. We went in with specific asks and got all we paid for and more. They make themselves super available for any trouble shooting and really take the time to educate you. Thank you, PUPS!

We cannot recommend Pups Maine enough! They gave our dog – and us – the tools and skills needed to gain back a sense of security and control in our lives. Our story: We have a 3 year old Frenchie who is playful and loving with people and dogs he knows, but has gotten more and more reactive and aggressive with new dogs and strangers over time. He also can be possessive over toys and treats. Unfortunately, those unchecked negative behaviors resulted in him biting a few people and fighting with dogs — and they made walks and public outings with him feel extremely stressful and unsafe. We tried shorter, more casual trainings with him before, but they didn’t make much of an impact. We honestly thought we’d have to just accept the fact that we couldn’t control our own dog, and we’d have to shield him from the outside world as much as possible to avoid another harmful incident. Enter Pups Maine. We signed him up for the 30 day ‘Save My Dog Board & Train Package’ after learning about their approach to behavior modification – particularly e-collar training, which we had not tried before. Although it’s hard to leave your dog for 30 days, we felt that Chelsea and her partner were committed and truly cared. Because Pups Maine only takes in a small number of dogs for training at a time, our Frenchie got a lot of 1:1 attention and practice each day of his stay. (He also got some really fun play time!). After they worked on basic commands, proper leash-walking and e-collar training, they gradually put him in controlled environments where he’d be near other dogs and people to really put those skills to the test. What’s also key about their approach: Chelsea made sure to train US too, so we would be able to confidently take over the reins at the end of his stay (we got lessons mid-way during his training and at the end). The results have made a profound difference in our lives. Our Frenchie is far more manageable on walks and stays right next to us – it’s actually fun now and not stressful! If we encounter new dogs and people on walks, we know now how to avoid or mitigate his reactions. It’s a big relief. A few weeks after his training, we had a family member and their dog visit, which we had been nervous about prior to the training. However, because we have the tools to communicate with our dog now, he actually listened to us and stayed “in his place” when he needed to be. Our family member was truly stunned at how well behaved he was. We never thought we’d get that kind of compliment about our dog! Of course, we have to work at it every day – because like with anything, skills require continued practice and commitment. But if you are struggling and ready to make that life-long commitment for your dog, we’d highly, highly recommend working with Pups Maine.

I sent my dog to PUPS. And with 2 weeks of training and learning what myself and family were doing wrong. It is amazing what PUPS did with such a short amount of time. The ability to communicate and ask questions even after we arrived home ensures that we are able to maintain and continue with training at home. I now have a dog that I am not frustrated with or embarrassed of when I take him into public. This place is AMAZING! I am recommend PUPS to everyone who is interested in getting training for their dog! The amount of knowledge we walked away with, has helped us have a better relationship with my dog. The kids are no longer intimidated to walk and play with him outside, and the dog has a better understanding of boundaries and rules no matter where we are!

I dropped off a very anxious dog for the three week Save my Dog training. Olive was unable to regulate her behavior before I took her to Chelsea. She had fear aggression, separation anxiety and struggled to have a calm mind and body. I am thrilled with the tools Olive learned and with the time Chelsea spent teaching me how to provide Olive with the consistent environment at home to help Olive make safe choices. Chelsea taught me how to be a calm and effective leader for Olive. The difference is incredible! Thank you Chelsea!

It's been just over 3 months since I brought my dog Seymour home from the 4 week "Save My Dog" Board and Train. I'm mad I didn't find Chelsea sooner! She has really changed my life for the better and has given me my happiness and confidence back. This was an extremely emotional turn around for me. Seymour was so fearful and thus aggressive towards humans and overexcited and reactive towards other dogs that I hadn't taken him for a walk for about a year and a half. I would run him on the treadmill, play mentally stimulating games with him, and let him run in the backyard. I was stressed and scared of walking with him, but would feel bad going outside without my dogs so we'd all just stay home. My friends were scared to come over and my parents (who I live with) hadn't even met him. Drop off with Chelsea was my worse fear come true. He had tried to bite Chelsea AT LEAST 10 times and there was nothing I could do that was able to stop him. The drive home was very emotional to say the least.Since bringing Seymour home my world has completely changed. Walking the dogs is my favorite thing to do! I've had friends over multiple times and my dogs are able to be a part of the social event. Seymour will still hold place, but now he wags his tail and does a little wiggle when my friends look his way and say "Hi Buddy!". My friends still haven't build the courage to walk him themselves, but he's able to walk with us! We walk by the elementary school and Seymour is focused on where I'm going instead of the kids that are running around. I'm no longer scared when I see another dog or person or BOTH (lol) walking towards me. Chelsea thank you so much. You've given me the tools I needed to feel confident as a dog owner and also have given me my life back. I'm excited to finally be able to plan a trip from my boyfriend and me because Chelsea also does pet sitting!

We have had only 1,1 hour session with my 2, 8 month old shih-tzu's and i learned so much. From what I have been able to teach my pups they are doing really good and picking up commands quick. It was really about training me to help them and they have done alot better with the new tools and in the short period of time. I have signed them up for a 5 day training end of August and looking forward to it. Peace & Unity Pet Services are also available for any questions or if you just want to tell them what going on( if humans need a little good job). In the photos they wouldn't even go in there crates now there learning thats there space my little all black one just goes in there to lay down. We can't wait to go back for more training and plan on using the daycare! Highly recommend!

Love this place!! Training is top notch and rates are incredible! Expect a wait time and know that its because of how good she is. I dont trust my service dogs with just any trainer after a disaster experience. My 2nd SD in training will be attending here as well. I promise you will not be disappointed she does everything necessary to set you and your beloved fur baby up for success!!

We sent our one year old dog, Ellie, to Chelsea for the two week board and train. Ellie is a nervous dog and needed some help with her confidence (in addition to her manners). During Ellie's stay, Chelsea posted multiple videos of her progress, and we went for two in-person training sessions with Ellie. The biggest changes we have seen since Ellie returned home are her ability to relax, walk nicely on a leash, and recall (her manners are also much improved). A few weeks after Ellie came home, Chelsea reached out to see how everything was going. We were having a few minor issues, so Chelsea came to our house to answer our questions and help us with Ellie's home training, which we greatly appreciated! We would highly recommend Chelsea and PUPS to anyone needing a little (or a lot of) extra help with their dog. She is great with dogs of all ages and even worked with our other dog, Finnlay, an eight year old doodle who is a bit set in his ways. Chelsea is amazing and she goes above and beyond to help her clients succeed!

We just finished the 2 week Board and Train session for my little Schipperke Cooper with Peace and Unity. We could not be more satisfied with the results. He was very reactive with other dogs and a puller on his leash- I don’t think I ever really made him accountable because he is a small dog. He also was a frequent barker at anything and anyone who dared walk down our street in the neighborhood. They not only taught him how to react to certain cues, using special collars-they taught us! It is working so well and everything seems so easy and obvious now. He improves every day. I am grateful that Peace and Unity has shown us how to unlock the potential that I always knew was there!💕

I brought my dog, Inari, to see Chelsea for a consultation and a private training session. By the end of the consultation, I left with some very helpful suggestions and was excited to begin training. By the end of our private training session, I left with a new sense of hope for our future, because I was given the proper skills and tools needed for my dog to succeed. Inari is a Shiba Inu, and in pure shiba fashion, he is very aloof and mistrustful of new things and people (also super stubborn). He’s rude on leash, has selective hearing, and regressed with his crate training around the 2 year old mark. There’s zero people outside of myself and fiancé that I trust to have the patience to handle Inari with all his quirks and read his body language, but I can now include Chelsea in that small circle. She knows exactly how to communicate with my dog. 1 week from our private training session, and Inari is still doing great and improving with all the skills we practiced with Chelsea. I’m excited to see how far Inari goes and will continue working with Chelsea to meet our goals :) thank you Chelsea for being so helpful and sharing your expertise!

The best investment we could have ever made for our dog and our peace of mind. Sophia was out of control and we were at our wit's end. Peace and Unity gave us our life back with our pup. The ability to spend time with Sophia without the stress of her bad behavior has been life changing and we're enjoying her more than ever.Highly recommend Peace and Unity Pet Services!

My wife and I are very thankful for Peace & Unity Pet Services! We didn't think our little puppers would ever be able to go out into public due to his extreme reaction to other dogs. Thanks to pups, he's learned to listen to our directions, not pull on the leash on walks and ignore other dogs for the most part through the use of a prong collar and e-collar microeducator. Now, we can take him out to more pet friendly places. He still has his moments of anxiousness in the form of very loud whining and crying if he sees another dog, especially bigger ones, but those reactions are far less frequent and are more controllable thanks to his time with PUPS.

Peace and unity was AMAZING. Our dog Al is a very hyper, lovable dog that enjoyed jumping on everyone because he was so excited. Al spent time at peace and unity and we can already tell a HUGE difference In Al! He is calm, which makes it fun to be around. We can not wait to bring Al on adventures with our family and that is thanks to peace and unity. They are so easy and kind to work with and answered ALL of my questions. Al is home and happy! Thank you peace and unity!!

My 3 year old lab went here for a two week board and train and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. She has learned how to properly walk on a leash without pulling or barking at other dogs or distractions. It has changed our world and what we are able to do. I literally take her every where with me because I know I have the skills and tools for any interaction or setting. It has given us more freedom to do the things we love and it has been so enjoyable!Chelsea was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. She texted pictures and posted videos on her page of my pups new skills which were fun to watch while she was away. 5 stars!

Our dog Jackie attended PUPS basic training when she was around 18 months old. Chelsea and Phelan were so capable of creating a loving and respectful relationship with Jackie that she feels like she is one of the family when she goes there for her occasional boarding times. All the skills she learned during her time at PUPS has made her more obedient, confident and calm. It is an amazing thing to see how their kindly training methods transform a dog’s difficult behavior into a well behaved dog!! We trust PUPS. 🐶

Just finished your first private class yesterday. What a great experience.Chelsea is a great teacher for both me and my pup. She worked with Oreo, building her confidence and understanding of some basic commands. Then she observed and corrected me doing the same routine. I feel like I learned as much or more than my dog did. Can’t wait for our next class. We will be doing our homework and getting ready for some more advanced obedience work.

We did a 1 hour virtual training session to learn how to handle our new Jack Russell pup that was proving a lot to handle, and came away with a ton of quality training info to set us up for success! Luckily our pup Moxie is a smart gal and we got instant improvement with basic commands and crate training (which is totally new to me). Will be going back for more training for sure!

Couldn’t recommend PUPS more. Brought in a 3 year old beagle who was incredible aggressive toward other dogs on our walks, fearful of strangers, and would run off on me the first chance he got. After the first couple sessions with Chelsea, I noticed a huge improvement. Now he is no longer aggressive towards other dogs, comes to me when called, and is finally breaking out of his shell. I am amazed by the results! Thank you PUPS!

We brought our 9 month old labrador to PUPS after trying other obedience trainings. Mitchell is a goofy exuberant dog but his jumping, mouthiness, ignoring us, and being fresh was unacceptable. After one private session with Chelsea, Mitchell was a different dog. The transformation was stunning. We have gone twice more and continue to see improvements. He now listens, heels, autosits, is no longer mouthy, no longer jumps on people, knows “place,” and is working on recall. He is still a work in progress, but Chelsea has given us the tools to help Mitchell find success. Chelsea, in her patient way, has the unique blend of connecting with both dogs and humans. We are deeply grateful we met her. One of the greatest compliments we can give Chelsea is when our friends and family who have known Mitchell since he was a young pup see him now and say, “IS THAT MITCHELL??!!” We say yup. Thanks Chelsea!!

A year or so ago I placed my Golden Retriever in their care for 6 +/- days. I ended up with a $500 vet bill. I no longer use their e-collar nor their prong collar. Luckily, after some time, patience, experience, and better training methods, I now have a great dog, off-leash, for hikes in the woods nearby. I would not recommend. And, of course, I may be called a "slanderer" as I have in the past, but, it is was it is. NOT a good experience.

I have been to group classes and I was amazed at the quick behavior changes you can see right before your eyes. Chelsea explains things well (she includes how to do something and the different ways a dog may react, then appropriate techniques for that behavior). Excellent for puppy training or fixing dangerous or unwanted behaviors.

I was at my wits end with my dog's reactivity. I am only one session in with Chelsea and I am already seeing a difference! I am using new techniques that I never thought I would use, but her education and dedication to training has really opened my eyes to dog training in general. HIGHLY recommend.
