Went into the Topsham Maine shop after work yesterday. Looked all around the store trying to find somethings for a little craft I was working on for a Baby Shower today. I walked up to the register to ask where I might be able to find some items, I had some tiny flowers I liked. The girl at the register when I asked her where to find these things, her reply was "I don't know" and she rang me out. I was left to go somewhere else to find what I needed, I am totally disappointed with this store. I will not be coming back.

I hate dealing with incompetent people! I spent a very long time selecting 9 Christmas ornaments, marked “buy 1, get 2 free” They rang up at 50% off! The associate apologized, saying “that’s the way they ring up, I can’t change it” she consulted with another associate (a supervisor?) who said “this is actually a better deal”… where did she go to school??? 50% off is NOT better than buy 1, get 2 free! Her solution: she went and removed the sign, but did not honor it, even though it was her mistake!I ended up returning all of them… shopping at Joanne’s was a terrible waste of my time. I WILL NOT be back.Topshan ME, returned merchandise at3:37pm, 10/22/23.

Very disappointed. They claim a "hassle free return policy" and don't mean sewing machines. This is not posted nor communicated in any way. While I understand the employees do not make this policy - the customer service was not only not helpful , they were rude about it. Saying that they (sewing machines) just end up in the dumpster and having NO sympathy or acknowledgment that I have essentially $140 paperweight. They say all over the store that it's hassle free returns and that's just not true. If selling something that doesn't apply for regular return, it should be made known via a sign and verbally communicated. I will be contacting corporate at how poorly the manager handle this.

I was trying to buy a yard spinner that was broken and missing the post to go into the ground. The employees here just seemed to want to talk behind the register and take my information to “look out for it” instead of providing service to help me find the missing pieces.

Friendly service, lots to choose from. The only problem I have is with the lack of rubber stamps. Always the same product always the same designs. Little if any numbers or letters to choose from. At least they keep staff on the floor who are more than happy to assist. Hobby Lobby should get some pointers from Joanne's.

We went to get Hanukkah decorations and they had ZERO. Woman was polite apologizing, but this one star is for management to get their act together. Diversify! We love all the Christmas stuff, but show some inclusivity.

Ive been in 4 or 5 different Joanns store. This was my first visit at this location. I walked in and surprised that i felt like i had walked into an old thrift store. Dim, dingy, and messy. Usually everything looks bright and new, inviting. I needed some yarn and they had an ok selection. My issue was that i had to walk from one end of the store too see it and then found it in 2 other areas, away from the rest. I also was surprised to see the prices were more than at my usual location. I ended up leaving without any yarn!! If you know a yarn addict, you would know how crazy that is!

Love the store itself, not too happy with the customer service. They have a wonderful selection of all your crafty needs and like the name obviously says, a HUGE fabric section. I just wish they employed more people at the registers rather than the fabric department. It takes so long to get through that checkout process. Overall, I enjoy this store but it isn't without issue from time to time

Good supply of inventory, convenient location... could have done without listening to the young cashier complain to an associate how she doesn't get along with a 3rd associate on and on ... Other than that will go back.

Took a sewing class here with Amy today! It was so wonderful. She was patient and such a great teacher. I left feeling confident and enjoyed my time there.

VERY unfriendly staff. I asked a girl that was stocking the section I was looking in, if I was in the right area (after JUST watching her point another customer in the right direction) and she rudely interrupted me and told me, "ask her" while pointing towards the center of the store. If she didn't want to help me, she could have told me in a nicer way. All she said was "ask her". Maybe they should train their staff how to kindly direct customers to another associate who could better meet their needs, if necessary?? Even mentally handicapped employees are able to learn the correct way to tell customers to where to go, if trained properly, so there really is NO excuse for such poor customer interactions. (And if an employee is NOT capable of appropriate social interactions, they usually have an aide with them.)

Long time Joann customer, but in the past year it has ceased carrying the art and crafting supplies I am most interested in. I continue to get coupons daily, but the sales are confusing and items are not clearly marked. I dont think the employees are very happy either, as they were openly complaining about each other in front of customers the other day. I get that it was busy and stressful, but it was still unprofessional.

Went in tonight at around 6ish, saw clerks when I walked in. I didn't take that long in the store, went to check out, and everyone had disappeared. Stood there waiting in line for five or six minutes and no one came. Walked around to see if I could find someone, no one around anywhere. Dropped my stuff and left. Really needed the stuff, too.

I was able to find the ribbon I had been looking for in this store. It is well stocked with all your sewing, art and flower making supplies. The associates were very friendly.

All of the workers tell a different tale, one says they have something, another says they don't. I always try to talk to a manager because that's the only time I get an answer. When making a phone call, I'm usually stuck on hold for 43 minutes and never get my questions answered. Low on stock for many items I need like resin. It's super pricy and I previously found out that I can get all the molds I bought at Joanns on amazon, all together for double less than what I payed all together at Joanns. They do have items though that no one else has like a particular chain for necklaces I use so it is helpful to know that I can go there and find what I need when it comes to that.

My local Joann's is fairly large but it can't be all things to all people. It has a pretty good selection of decorating fabrics and notions. If you are a quilter it has a good selection of those fabrics. If you want to make a nice garment you would probably look elsewhere. Children's fabrics ate better and of course tons of fleece, not really my thing but there must be a market for that. All in all can usually find something close to what I need. Lots of crafting supplies and really nice, helpful employees.

Always love shopping at the Topsham location. They're so much nicer than the one in Portland. They're also spokeo much more knowledgeable about the products. They also treat me like a customer should be treated. The Portland location doesn't care for male customers who know what they're shopping for.

Very disappointed. I bought materials to make ornaments with some children. I didn't use most of the material so I sent my 17 year daughter to return it for me. It was an online receipt and the cashier didnt know how to process it, so she processed it as a return without a receipt. Since most of the stuff is on sale I lost 20 dollars. I went in and spoke to a manager who said they would look into it and call me. That was 4 days ago. Unfortunate, because I spend a lot of my money to help kids out.

This morning I find myself at the topsham fair mall and have to deal with two Joann’s employees smoking right in the walking path of the mall within feet of their store entrance. Disgusting and uncalled for. Nobody needs to be exposed to y’all’s second hand smoke when visiting the mall.

I love joanns but I do feel they're extremely overpriced for things you can get easily at Michael's or Mardens or any discount store really. I do like to shop their discounted items every now and then!

So during Covid my girlfriend need a certain color of yarn and this Joann's had it but their website, Google, and store locator all said the store would open at 10 am and we called and the woman who awnsered was rude and said they do not open until 11 am and we drove over an hour and half for this bad experience. This happened at the Topsham Fair Mall in Maine, all the other stores are great

Usually not much to choose from for the fabrics I need. Mostly a crafts store. Prices are inflated so they can have "50%" off sales. I go there when I don't have time to drive to Fabric Warehouse in Auburn.

I love it but my significant other is on the fence. You have to remember to crack the windows for them or else you run the risk of them coming in to find you after 2 hours, because you stopped in for just a seam ripper and you may have two carts going!
