I bring my nephew and niece to see the cats and dogs. Their mom is allergic to cats, so kitties in their house. They have two Boston Terriers Ruger and Rosie. My husband and I have our very spoiled cat Willow who we got from you 9.5 years ago!! She brings us so much joy and happiness!!

We just picked up our new family member from Pope. Achilles is so sweet and adorable the staff are wonderful and the facilities are clean! Achilles was in the K9 Corrections program. Huge thank you to his trainer! It must have been so hard to let him go

Maximus Catticus was in this shelter for five years. When we adopted him, we found it hard to believe. What a wonderful cat. We've had Max for over a year now, and he has calmed down, and no longer puts his weapons out when he wants not to be pet. All pad, and sometimes a bit of meow. He just needed to know this was his forever home. I am so glad he was there for us to bring home.

It's almost been ten months since I adopted a terrified four month old named Huck. Huck's new name is Buddy and he is no longer cowering and trying to hide from me. Buddy is now a happy go lucky one year old that plays at the Brunswick dog park a few times a week. He is trained to pick up his red collar when he wants to go outside. When Buddy wants more food in his bowl he goes over to his dog bag and scratches at it. All of the people involved in helping me with food, harness, shots, bed, and a create was all apart of the adoption fee. Also the micro chip company going by the name 'Home Again' is a great service also. They called me last week to tell me that I was due for an annual fee. Buddy is a happy guy and loves his new dad. - I love him also.

Best shelter around! They have a wonderful/clean facility, and they treat their animals like kings and queens until they're officially adopted! Kind, flexible, and willing to help. We've adopted 4 animals in the past. All healthy, happy, and perfect. I highly recommend this shelter!!! 5 stars!

My husband and I rescued our first puppy from Pope Humane Society. Everyone was so friendly and helpful in our decision! They are so good to all the animals there, and you can tell they really care. Daisy, was part of the K9 corrections program, and she’s practically a perfect puppy. She’s so well behaved and loving-my husband and I can’t believe we got so lucky! She forever changed our life in the best way, and we have Pope to thank for that. We highly recommend this shelter!!

The staff are phenomenal. Genuinely care about the entire process starting with where the animals arrive from, their best care, their potential and ultimately where they are adopted into their forever homes. I even witnessed reunions while I visited. True animal loving people!

My family has attended the kids day event at the humane society for the past 2 years! I think this a great opportunity for the community to come together and socialize kids with animals and for the animals to be socialized as well! The staff are incredible and the facility is top notch!

Okay so the little things really matter. Pipe memorial has ear muffin in the dog area for children and others with sensitive hearing. That way the dogs barking is tone down. What s smart idea! Besides that it was really clean and the staff super friendly.

This is a very nice humaine society. They treat all the animals with love and kindness. I saw fresh hay in the bunny cages, cats had comfortable beds and toys, all dogs had nice beds, toys and blankets. Very clean. The staff knew all the dogs and characters.

After losing my cat, I finally decided to have another one. After finding the one I wanted at animal shelter, I was told by the woman behind the desk : I had to take 2 of them because they needed each other. Well I'm sorry but have never heard of this before & have to say: this lady was not very helpful or pleasant to me, needless to say, my grandson & I left & without a cat

This animal shelter has a newer building for their cats and dogs. Like any other humane society you will find a decent amount of cats and loud dogs. Every time I have been here they have had a decent amount of animals in the building but on top of that the staff that are there knows lots about each animal and can help answer questions and find you a good fit. They are super friendly with people visiting as well as treating the dogs good. They have lots of volunteer opportunities as well as just stopping in to see the dogs.

I have been looking for a dog to share my heart and home with for the last several months and in my search Pope Memorial Humane Society. Kept coming up with posting of dogs coming up from S.C. So I went to their website and filled out there application for adoption and was accepted. A gentleman called Mike got in touch with me and sent me a photo of a dog up for adoption. Because of the timing I missed out on her but he sent another photo. And got my grandson to come with me and off we went. Arriving a very nice young lady called Carrie led me to see a small dog named Daisy. Well needless to say we hit it off and she came home with me for a slumber party. Well as the story goes we became fast friends and she is now at home with me and I am now out walking with her several times a day. And she is my snuggle buddy for the rest of the time. The folks at Pope Memorial are all fantastic people and the love and care they show all their cannine, feline and other boarders is a beautiful thing. Thanks to you all I am looking forward to winter and the years a head with my best friend who I now call Maizy. Peace and love to you all.
