Popped in on our way out of Acadia National Park at the end of our vacation to grab breakfast.Ordered a bacon, egg, cheese bagel, a coffee, and a hot chocolate. Everything tasted great.We noticed so many food businesses in this part of Maine were struggling to staff their enterprises. But the food was delicious and the service was friendly and quick.Plus the eatery was super cute SUPER CLEAN and had acrylic paintings of the national park by a local artist for sale on display on its walls.

Found this place while searching for a quick place to get a coffee and bagel near our vacation rental. We enjoyed it so much the first visit, we went back the next morning. I ordered a cold brew with white chocolate and lavender both days and it was absolutely delicious the first time. The second time, there was a bit too much lavender flavor. There is a sign on the counter requesting that if your coffee “doesn’t taste right. Please let us know and we’ll be happy to fix it”. So I let them know. The barista was more than happy to add more cold brew to my cup and even offered to make it completely over, as it wouldn’t be any trouble. She was very sincere and helpful! Fortunately, adding more coffee to the drink helped even out the flavors just fine! Over the course of two visits we also tried 4 different breakfast sandwiches and all were delicious. Not only is this the only coffee shop close to Sullivan, it’s actually very good and has wonderful staff that makes the whole breakfast experience great!

Opening a business in Maine, of all places, is incredibly hard. Coming up with the money to make the place your own all while buying the supplies and paying employees is not easily manageable. Lexi is doing a wonderful job! I really enjoyed my experience at the cafe. Everyone was very warm and welcoming and my drink was delicious. I don’t make it out to Sullivan very often, but I stop in every time I do!

Drove too far for an awful experience. The staff were not friendly in the least bit. The guy in the kitchen just stood in the window on his phone. Worst coffee drinks we’ve literally ever had. Way too sweet. The latte tasted like milk with flavored sweetener. We each took one sip of our frozen coffee and latte and were done. Terrible after taste and made our stomachs queezy.

Food was disappointing. My table of three ordered fairly basic breakfast items. I had a ham and cheese omelet which was alright, although the ham seemed highly processed and the presentation of the food was below average on the plate. Not too bad overall.I ordered a side of sausage to go with the main meal and that was a disaster. It was super oily and seemed undercooked. I took one bite and didn't eat anymore. I asked one of the others in my party to try it to see if it was just me, she thought it was bad as well. Bacon on her plate was very unevenly cooked. Burnt spots on some parts, but undercooked on others.The worst part was the third person with us who ordered a stand alone blueberry muffin with her meal. First couple bites were okay, but then I saw her face grimace suddenly on the third bite. She said it tasted fishy, and so didn't eat anymore of it.Service staff seemed okay, although obviously new at the job. No napkins or silverware provided, I had to go up and ask for some. Not a big deal I guess. The main server seemed to be training the second during her shift, so that's probably something that will improve over time.We're normally pretty laid back and forgiving of restaurants and we're not the type to complain to a manager or even post a bad review. But the bill for this experience was around $50 and we just felt it was not even close to what we expected.I hope this business can get these growing pains figured out and standardize their cooking processes for a more consistent experience. I support local businesses but this place needs improvement if they want to stand the test of time.

Truly delicious breakfast sandwiches. Yummy baked goods. Low prices. Have not had anything from there I didn’t truly like. Flipside is they seem too popular for their own good as they are overwhelmed. Things get confused and customers wait in, on a warm day, a stifling hot building. If they could get the running service and building down, this would be an excellent restaurant. Growing pains? Fans would help.Vegetarian options: Yummy

We are from out of town and tried this cute little spot for breakfast. The food was delicious, the staff was kind, the drinks were awesome. We loved everything about it! We've been trying to experience different places while out here and we loved the Honeybee Cafe so much, we're going to come back again tomorrow!

A great place for breakfast and some sweet specialty coffees, though the specialty coffees vary in taste based on who's working. However, the service is great and the woman we got making our drinks did offer to remake any that didn't taste right. They had some amazing specialty breakfast sandwiches that were vegetarian, which was a pleasant surprise! Would definitely recommend it and go back on our next trip!

What a cute hidden gem!! Super friendly staff, amazing breakfast sandwiches, and great espresso drinks! Loved all of the fall flavors as well. One of my favorite touches, though, is the lactaid at the front register while they offered alternative milks, it was literally the most thoughtful addition I've ever encountered at a coffee shop. Would definitely stop by again!

I can see why the place is for sale. Before we ordered, she was pushing for us to get it to go. We did not. My food was ok. I don't think the heat was on, so we ate fast and got back on the road. Nice reply. We did not have to wait for a table. We were the only ones sitting in there. Not busy at all. Be honest. This isn't the job for you.

i really wanted to love it here. the workers tried their best but it was an embarrassment. we ordered online an hour ahead. we pick up, they don’t have two of our drinks. that’s okay! we’ll take different! but then our sandwiches, which are sitting out, and not one single worker knew who’s order they were for, we’re both made completly wrong. they forgot part of our order and were kind enough to make it on spot for us, but gave us the wrong thing, again. i felt bad since their was only one cook and i understand how hard that can be, but it was an hour process and not one thing we got was what we actually ordered.edit, since i can’t reply to your comment. as a worker at two small businesses, i get it. hence why i stated i felt bad for your cook. we were refunded for the drinks. if you watched cameras, i’m the one who went outside because i wanted to ask for a full refund but we were already there for a while and we’re just defeated after the multiple fixes. the people before us, who you will also see on camera, left because their order was given away to the wrong people. horrible way to respond as an owner. have a great day

I was super excited to try this place when they opened, and support one of the local businesses nearby. My expectactions immediately dwindled within the first minute of being there. The workers were very disorganized and we were met with a load of attitude. The cinnamon rolls were tiny for the price, hard, and not properly iced. The coffee was weak and bland. Extremely overpriced menu for the quality (or lack thereof.) The owner is rude and degrading. There's a wonderful coffee shop in Ellsworth (20 minutes away) called Precipice Coffee, the owners are wonderful, down to earth people with aaamazing coffee and treats. I suggest you spend your money there instead!

I recently visited The Honeybee Cafe and tried one of the Barbie girl energy drinks and wow!! I barely made it out the door with it, it was so good! And their paninis?? I’ve lived in this are my entire life and I’ve never had a better panini. The service was amazing, the girls who run it are very sweet, and have the best recommendations. And the prices were VERY fair (I live and work on MDI, so the comparison is insane!). Couldn’t recommend them enough and I can’t wait to come back!Dietary restrictions: So many Gluten Free/Dairy free options and there’s lactaid right at the counter!

What a great little cafè! I love supporting local businesses whenever I can, so when I started chatting with the barista, she shared that her friend had just opened the cafè a couple weeks before. The coffee was amazing, and they even had some free cupcakes on the counter. I really hope your business stays successful ladies!

I got the Honeybee Shaken Cold Brew and it was honestly the best coffee I have ever had and it was dairy free! It was sweet, but not too sweet. A perfect drink for a hot day (or any day)!

This sweet little cafe is a special new addition on US 1/Schoodic Scenic ByWay between the 2 sections of Acadia National Park. A great selection of special coffees and drinks, and both sweet & savory food items- many made on their own grill. For me, the best part if that they can make many of the options Gluten-Free and even have GF bagels and cookies. Not only that, but they have dairy-free options for those that want, and have lactaid pills on the cou ter for those that choose to indulge anyway. An excellent stop on your way to work or on a day trip for sure! And sure to become a favorite for locals!

Honeybee was a delight to visit! Very tasty bagel sandwich and quiche, and some quality coffee. And the staff are friendly as can be!
