Hands down best haddock chowder I've had, their fresh pasta salad is also bomb and made with fresh peas! So glad to see Dunbar's brought back to life and stocked with everything you could possibly need for food! They also have an amazing beer and hard liquor selection.

Since opening the owners continue to add to the selection of items carried. A well stocked grocery area. Fresh produce, dry goods, frozen foods and a nice selection of wines.A sandwich counter with both hot and cold food items ready for grab and go. There is small but respectful selection of beers from local breweries Airline Brewing and Fogtown Brewing.The owners have done a great job keeping the character of the old store that use to occupy the space.

I was visiting for a week and stopped in. The lobster roll was amazing, and the sandwiches were extremely high quality. It was one of the best experiences I've had. A beautiful view is right next to the store. It is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat.

Very nice selection of groceries and deli. We stopped for lunch and got sandwiches, chips and drink then ate at their picnic tables. Italian sub, brisket, pulled pork, lobster roll, shrimp salad and the usual selection of deli meats, cheeses, veggies, and condiments.

The Dundars Store..Our lunch was Shockingly disappointing! Lobster rolls were totally undressed and dry!Saran wrapped cookies were stale, dry, crumbly and tasteless! When I called and spoke with the owner… she offered to do absolutely nothing. She said… how do I know that you’re not a scammer. I told her that it didn’t matter if she gave us just a cold bottle of water to make up for the bad food. She said NO! I told the owner that this was terrible customer relations.Local Downeast customer

When this little store reopened, it was wonderful and exciting. I frequently stop in for breakfast or for sandwiches at the deli. For the space, there is quite a variety of items in the store. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We stopped by this store on the way back from the 'schoodic peninsula' visit, because we saw a sign stating 'we support local fishermen...' outside of the store. It was like a small grocery store, we bought some live lobsters there, the store associates were very accommodating /thoughtful, provided an additional bag to secure the lobsters, so that no water got leaked out. If you happen to pass by this store, I recommend getting live lobster from them, which were very fresh, and their price was much more reasonable than the stores at bar harbor.

I'm waiting for the candid camera guy to jump out. I asked the deli guy if the lob roll is a standard lobster roll he says yes. I get a room temp untoasted hotdog bun w an OK amt of lobster w some kind of mayo dressing. IT WAS A FRIGGIN JOKE. I've had btr in Kansas. The vitamin water and chips were as expected.

After driving thru Schoodic we stopped by to get some lunch since reviews were good; we split a foot long Lobster Roll $29 that’s a good price for 2 people to share! It was freshly made, light mayo - hardly tasted it which was fine by us, meat was fresh tender and sweet - good lobster roll. Stop in they have other hot and cold sandwiches for take away - eat in the lot next door and enjoy the view.

We give the overall store 4 stars. It has a wide variety of stuff to fill just about every need. Most of the fresh food they serve, pizza to sandwiches are very good, but avoid the lobster roll...it was not very good. Low on lobster, and served on glorified hot dog buns it also had a funky taste. I hate to do this because everything else is really great, and the people are so nice, but they gotta fix those lobster rolls, especially since it was 26 bucks.

Wonderful cappacino machine with drinks better than your local Starbucks. Loved the muffins and cookies up front.Pet lobsters on sale for $7 is a fun way to entertain the kids.Service with a smile every time!

Great roadside shop that serves up pizza, wraps, sandwiches, baked goods, and chowder. I picked up the haddock chowder for lunch and so glad I did. It’s delicious! At the time of this posting a pint is $7.50. Staff is very friendly and great view of the harbor a few feet away!

Lots of items to pock from. We especially liked the homemade desserts. Specially those woppie pies. The icing inside was just perfect. Not cream and not all sugary but thick and delicious. I also found a few items there that I wasn't able to find in 3 other states. Glad there was an outhouse available too.

This was our first visit. My 12" lobster roll @ $20 was generous enough and tasted delicious. The cost difference between a 6" and 12" lobster roll is minimal at around roughly $5. Beer is available including a small but reasonable supply of singles to have with a lunch. My wife had a chicken burrito special and enjoyed it as well. Staff was friendly.

Just went in again today, and there's always something new they added or that I find. It is a small high quality grocery store and more. It has an amazing array of fresh veggies and meat and seafood for its size, and reasonable and often good prices, too. Great for kids food as well, and foodie items. It reminds me of what great local grocery stores were like before the huge chains took over.

My family and I was staying across the street and we came in here for coffee and breakfast each morning. They sell a variety of hot breakfast sandwiches and fresh bake goods each morning. Also, they sell take-out items for lunch / dinner as well. Everyone that work in the store was friendly and helpful.

Somehow, in a shop the size of a 7-Eleven, they have everything. It's like a TARDIS inside. Real deli, meat and seafood, walk-in beer cave, and well rounded selection of grocery basics with extra gourmet surprises hidden through the shop.

My husband and i were driving Scenic U.S. Highway 1A when we spotted this small store. For a small store, they have a bit of everything, but my comment is on the brownie I bought at the register. It was the VERY BEST brownie I have ever eaten. If for no other reason than eating a brownie, you should stop at this store and treat yourself and everyone else to the BEST BROWNIE EVER. Oh my goodness, it was wonderful.

We ordered two lobster rolls here—-one 6” ($18) and one 12” ($29)——we are Mainers and we know what a real lobster roll is (!)—-I feel sorry for the tourists who are bringing their money to support our Maine economy, and this establishment has the nerve to serve lobster rolls that would not even equal the amount of tuna fish in a tuna fish can—-AND the hotdog rolls were stale! This is an embarrassment to Dunbars and to our state of Maine known for its delicious lobster. When you see the long line at Red’s Eats in Wiscassett, there’s a reason for it!! HUGE lobster rolls (similarly priced) and exceptional respectful service. Ditto for Claws in Rockland and McLoons in South Thomaston, Maine—-unbelievably fresh and huge lobster rolls (and similarly priced to the pathetically made lobster rolls at Dunbars) -—-this is NOT how Mainers and tourists should be treated, Dunbars—-your shop and cookies look great, but we won’t be coming back to give them a try—-drive by folks—-the pictures of Tracey’s lobster rolls right down the road make Dunbar’s look like a lobster roll made for a dollhouse.
