Dr. Jenny saw my cat at very short notice, and when no one else could. She was very thorough in her exam, and then went above and beyond in order to ease my anxiety. Her support staff were so helpful and compassionate. My kitty is kind of shy, and they kept her so comfortable.

All the staff is friendly and very caring. Smokey, my fur baby, gets the best care. They do not rush through the appointment. I recommend this office.

These are the most caring, kind and helpful veterinarians my pets have ever had. I am so grateful to everyone there from the vets to the techs for their excellent care of my cats and dogs during their difficult injuries and illnesses. Truly they are first class, and your pets will be in the best hands. ❤️

We were extremely lucky to RUN into this clinic and that it was so close!Since 2014 we have vacationed in Sullivan with our Cardigan Corgis. Never have we needed a vet. My husband had recently walked our dogs ON LEASHES and came back into the cottage where we were in a small, uncluttered space with our girls. Within the hour the puppy (5.5 months) suddenly lost all in her gut and bladder and stomach all at once and was salivating. We rushed her to SAH where they first weren’t sure about being able to see her but as soon as the vet tech took a closer look at her pale gums, she knew our girl couldn’t wait. Dr. Connor took over, noted the low bp and saved our girl’s life! Period!! It was determined she had anaphylactic shock. By the afternoon she was fine. We lost our oldest Corgi in March to nasal cancer. She was our son’s love and I cannot imagine what the loss of this puppy would have done to us all but especially to him.Pet owners, thank your vets, even when heroics aren’t necessary. Don’t complain about the cost. They take out as much or more in student loans than MDs and make a lot less. They are as torn up about poor outcomes as we are. Be kind. Be grateful. On behalf of Hazel and my whole family, thank you, all the staff at SAH!

Dr. Jenny Rees saved our cat's life. When we took our cat Inky to the animal hospital 2 months ago, we were not optimistic. He was diagnosed with lymphoma, but the improvement in his health has been so drastic I can hardly believe it. Even though the clinic is a two-hour drive, I would not think of taking any of our cats anywhere else. It is reassuring to have a treatment plan for Inky that will allow him as much time as possible with us.

We have been part of this community for 20 years. 6 of our family members have been treated here. From caring for acute pain (porcupine encounters) to annual health check ups to helping move souls on, the care has been exquisite, tender, forthright, artful and compassionate.

Our sincere thanks to the team and Dr. Moritz for a thorough diagnosis. We were visiting Maine when our dog had a serious infection. Although their calendar was full, they squeezed us in. Dr. Moritz spent an hour and took a skin culture to make sure he was on the right path with the treatment plan. Everyone up there was so nice. Our dog is on the mend. Thanks!!!

Dr. Kate was incredibly compassionate, clear, and responsive to our pet emergency. She walked us through difficult choices and checked in on Sadie, who had eaten mouse poison, the next day. We highly recommend!!

Doctor Kate and her crew are amazing. We had an emergency with our little dachshund and Schoodic bent over backwards to make sure our precious fur son would be able walk and continue living his best life. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here.

The doctors and office staff at this practice are above and beyond. They showed amazing compassion and patience when I unexpectedly had to send Spot over the Rainbow Bridge. The next time I came in with her sister Stealth, they allowed me to change examination rooms so as not to be in the same room where Spot died. They care for Stealth as if she was their own and call even on their days off to check on how she is doing. I feel confident that my pet gets the very best care here and would not think of going anywhere else, even though it's not a short drive for me. Thank you, Schoodic Animal Hospital, for all that you are and all that you do!

Dr Patrick is fantastic! Very kind & gentle to my babies. He is in the process of getting one of my boys through a very bad ordeal. I'm so thankful he figured out my baby's issue very quickly and went after it with everything he had. All the staff there is extremely caring and nice!

We are very grateful for the compassionate care our old lady received. We were given facts and left to decide for ourselves what dire c tion we wanted to go. Thank you for the expertise and understanding we received from everyone here.

Went in today with an Emergency for our pet, one of the Doctors was out so they said they were too busy today. No one was in the lobby and I seemed to be the only one there at the time.I understand being short staffed but in emergency situations you make adjustments. Dog probably has to be put down.Told me to go to the emergency clinic in Brewer when it opens at 5:00pm which is in 6.5 hours. Then I picked my 70 lb dog back up and walked out and no one even helped me open the door on the way out, the lady just walked off. This is our current vet also. The regular Doctor must be the only one who leads with compassion and common sense. Very sad time and even more disappointing support from the local animal hospital. Seem that lack of choices has began to lower the bar for people with his place. If you can’t count on your local animal to help you in an emergency situation, what do you do?

I am very grateful to Dr. Patrick Connor and the staff at Schoodic Animal Hospital for their compassion and the terrific care we received when our dog needed to be euthanized on short notice. We were visiting the area from out of state and weren't sure where to turn when our ill dog's health status suddenly worsened. While other clinics in the area weren't able to help us, the staff at SAH graciously agreed to fit us into their busy schedule, despite being fully booked for the day. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic for their exceptional care of animals and sensitivity toward owners.

Dr Kate Connor is the most kind, caring, and compassionate vet I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with for my pets’ well-being. This hospital in general has been beyond accommodating and understanding when we’ve needed to bring pets in last minute. Our dog, Wally, was diagnosed with IVDD, an extremely painful back injury. Communication and help throughout his healing process were above and beyond, including Dr Kate calling on her days off to check on our sweet pup. Unfortunately, his IVDD got to the point of needing surgery. Dr Kate went, again, above and beyond and called MVMC and got us in immediately to save our baby’s back leg function. She made sure Wally was comfortable for the ride and even provided us with towels for him to rest on. She has continuously followed up and ensured us to reach out if we need anything else. As pet parents know, having your companion is professional, caring hands means everything. Thank you Dr Kate & Schoodic Animal Hospital!

I am from Connecticut and was in Maine on vacation when my 2.5 year old lab became very sick vomiting for 24+ hours. I drove an hour south to Schoodic animal hospital because they came highly recommended by a local. I was so worried - my dog was so sick, I was so far away from home and I had no idea if they would see us or not (I didn't have an apt). After waiting, they took us in and they were AMAZING. They were so kind, made me feel at home and took very good care of my dog. Dr. Kate was wonderful, the techs and assistants that helped were amazing as well (I remember one of their name's was Anne). I highly recommend this animal hospital - you will be in good hands!

The doctors here are so caring and got me in quickly with an urgent issue. They even tried to save me money by recommending a different food at first rather than running gazillions of dollars of tests. They also respected my decision of being anti-vaccine and did not push the shots on me, which was much appreciated. I am grateful for their care of my little kitties and will definitely bring them back again if they have future problems. Fingers crossed that they don't.

My Labrador and I were visiting Bar Harbor and the Park all the way from Michigan. We over did it with the hiking and he developed a limp. I was unsure if it was due to over exertion or a possible serious injury. Immediately when I saw the symptoms, I called the Schoodic Animal Hospital and they were able to see my dog that day! The doctor provided a well spoken diagnosis that he was just over worked for his age (9 mo) and was able to explain why she feels that way. I agreed with her expert opinion and felt a sense of relief. I walked out of the hospital feeling very relieved and God forbid if there was a more serious injury, I would trust my dog in their care.

Dr. Kate's professionalism, information and thoughtful care for my dog was superior compared to other veternarians we have visited. Her staff is efficient and just as caring as she is. Without reservations, we would recommend Dr. Kate and Schoodic Animal Hospital to anyone. We plan to have a long relationship with the practice. Thank you for all you did for my Blue, my 13+ chocolate Labrador Retriever!!!

They are SO good here. When I had to do emergency surgery on one dog, they were so good with my sweet girl. When I lost my other girl two months later, they were so compassionate and even sent me a card after with their condolences. They have been my go to place since living in Maine. I would highly recommend to any pet owner.

This is an extraordinary office. My crazy old cat went missing in a snowstorm and was gone for three very cold days and nights. A kind passerby found him near death's door and brought him to Schoodic Animal Hospital. Drs. Connor checked him out, scanned his microchip, and reunited me with my best feline buddy. They spent extra time with me and my cat and were warm, caring, efficient, and professional throughout. I am grateful to have found a great local vet and RECOMMEND them HIGHLY!

Was trying to get my dog into see someone for an allergy and or itching problem due to fleas or other. They would not see him because he hasn't been seen yearly by a vet plus he needed to be vaccinated. I have never been to a vet that pushed me away because my dog hasn't been seen regularly. I was worried because he still scratching and licking and has lost fur but they wouldn't see him . It's their rules but I don't agree with them. I would hope a human doctor wouldn't turn you away because you haven't been to the doctor yearly when you needed help.

I love Dr. Rees! Would NOT take my animal anywhere else. She is highly knowledgeable and if she says she wants to hear from you in two days she means it! If you do not call her or you aren't clear with the info you leave she WILL call you back that day! The staff are friendly and treat your pet like theirs. Their prices are actually reasonable for the amount of work and time they spend with you! The day Dr. Rees retires in the future is going to be a sad hard day for my ENTIRE family. My entire extended family takes their animals there.

We've been going to Schoodic Animal Hospital for many years, so I can say with confidence that the doctors and staff here are amazing. They have provided rigorous and compassionate care for all of our pets. A few years ago we moved to another town an hour away, but after a couple of years with another vet we have decided to return to Schoodic. It's worth the drive to be sure our pets get the best care. Highly recommend.
