My wife and I ate at the Cafe for lunch. The service was great and the food was really good. I had the lobster roll which was good sized and great taste. My wife had the cheeseburger which was delicious. The burger was good size and well made with the veggies. The pasta salad was bland though. I had an orish cooffee which was right on the spot. Flavorful and just right to warm you up.

This review is for the cafe only. Our party of 3 went in for dinner on a Thursday evening in late june 2023. One diner ordered cheeseburger, another ordered the "special" of beef tips, & I ordered the "special" of crab cakes. The cheeseburger itself was fine, but came with a side of bowtie pasta AND potato chips(?). The beef tip entree comprised 5 smallish beef tips, an ice cream scooping of rice, & overbroiled green beans accented with pepper flakes. My crab cakes were 2 panfried lumps of diced peppers, breadcrumbs & worstershire-there was no crab at all! My green beans too were oily, overcooked, &showered with pepper flakes. No one ordered dessert. I noticed other diners received the pasta & chip side with their meals as well; likely the owners' attempt to maximize profit.I left feeling extremely disappointed, cheated & I won't return. In the future, I will patronize other restaurants in the area which are just as nice, offer a wider menu that includes french fries, and serve meals commensurate with their price. You should too.

Me and my family were from out of town and went to Cafe Drydock for lunch. The service was great and they were very accommodating since I had my dog with me. They were able to seat us outside. The food was AMAZING, the clam chowder, the blueberry margarita, and blackened chicken sandwhich I had were so delicious. Everyone at our table loved our food. Definitely a great spot!

We stayed at the Drydock Inn and ended up eating at Cafe Drydock all 3 nights due to erratic opening hours of the other restaurants in the town. The food was consistently good and the service attentive, but sometimes a bit challenged due to the full house. The hotel is a unique experience, large comfortable rooms, super creaky floors, and a little noisy until the restaurant downstairs closes. After that it was very quiet. We enjoyed staying on the "Quietside" and not fighting the crowds in Bar Harbor. Note: there's no housekeeping during your stay.

Review for “cafe” only. It must be a tourist trap thing based on location and option scarcity, but the prices do not reflect the quality of the food. Both dishes (fish tacos/lobster roll) were served with a very bland pasta salad (think potluck) and potato chips. No fries? The service and atmosphere was fine. We got the impression that the place was a little more upscale based on appearance and price, but that’s not really the case.

Had a wonderful meal at Café Drydock! The atmosphere, service, and food were all awesome. We had the bacon wrapped scallops, fish tacos, and chicken & haddock sandwich all of which were delicious! The peach mango cider they have on tap right now is also 10/10. The portion sizes were perfect especially for the prices. Will definitely be eating here again!

This review is of the Cafe' only and not the Inn.Food 4,Server 1.Hadn't been here for a year or so due to the seasonality of the area. Always had good food. The food was very good tonight. It was not as busy as it had been on previous visits. I had heard the ownership had changed for the cafe.A young man waited on our table of 4. He delivered drinks. I was drinking only water. He came back to take our order. Food was delivered by other staff. As we ate, the server did not come back to the table. Never came to fill any of our water during the evening so I ended up drinking the other table guests water. I had looked around the room to see if he might be waiting on other people but was never able to see him. I'd been hoping to see him and catch his attention so I could get my water glass filled. When the server finally came by, he asked if my grandson wanted his meal boxed up. (By this time everyone else in the party had finished their meals.) Another member of the staff very quickly brought his drink because I think they heard me say "No, he doesn't want his meal boxed up, he's been waiting on ordering another drink."I know it's hard to get help in a coastal tourist community but for the prices you're asking you would think service would be more in line with the price point. This young man obviously was somewhat new to serving or just didn't care about it. Either way, there are plenty of places to eat with the same quality of food with much better service for the price paid.I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Review for cafe only: I’m not too picky but this was terrible. Well done burger that was supposed to be medium rare, over cooked scallops with burned stuffing. Literally the same TV/airplane dinner rice and bland steamed veggies sides haphazardly tossed - on to 2 different 40$ dishes?!?! To top it off, the waiter was objectively rude and refused to help or better the situation, even after we sent the 17$ burger back. What a bummer, it’s almost like the chef called in sick and someone was “winging it” . I know it’s a tourist town with guaranteed business but dang- try a little please.

We ate lunch at the cafe - We just happen to be driving by and decided to wonder the shops . We decided on lunch and it was the best lobster roll we had and that made # 7 . We didn’t have to have mayo so did straight butter . Closing for season but they were still attentive

We stayed at the Inn and it was very nice. We had a separate bedroom, full kitchen and living room. It was nicely decorated and the TV had many cable channels as well as Netflix. We enjoyed staying there and would stay there again.Nearby activities: Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are not far from the Inn.

Decided to give this place a try as it was nearby where we were staying. Was a little hesitant based on some reviews but we were very happy with our visit! We had to wait a little while but the two hosts never stopped moving by cleaning tables off and seating guests. Some people came and saw the group of people waiting and left angry claiming they had waited longer than they had (probably the same people writing these reviews!) Our food came out fast and was so good! Our server was very friendly and was also very attentive.

Great restaurant. Went twice in the week we were in Bar Harbor and both times were great. We sat in the bar/cafe side both times. Food quality was very good. Our friend did say they Alfredo was getting cold when they were served it, but I'm not knocking a star for that as the other 9 meals and drinks in over those two times were excellent and very tasty.Staff were very friendly and polite, and knowledgeable about the menus. As an aside, their are other stores in this area as well making the stop for lunch or dinner great.

One of the best meals I've ever had!The Maine Blue Hill mussels were meaty and of great texture. The sauce was AMAZING, I used bread to sop up the remainder and even put a little on my entree.Blueberry Brie was lovely. The Haddock was one of the nicest pieces of fish I've ever had, cooked just right so it was flaky but not "fishy".The accompanying green beans were great; the gentleman at the next table was commenting to his companions that he normally doesn't like green beans, but these were the best he'd ever had and would eat THESE green beans all the time.Small cafe with a bar, on the first floor of an inn.Right on your drive to/from the "quiet West side" of Acadia National park.We did not stay at the Inn, no info on that.

Perfect for the week that I stayed! Staff was amazing! I had left my pillow behind when I checked out, housekeeping had nicely bagged it and set it aside! I was able to retrieve it the next day. Thank you again! 🙏Highly recommend.

I will give this a 2 rating because we enjoyed the deck and the inside of the restaurant looked cozy. However, we ordered the Lobster Bisque and drinks. The lemonade was good but the Lobster Bisque ($14 for a bowl) was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. It was ALL broth, creamed soup and absolutely NO Lobster meat at all. Is this normal? I have had MUCH better Lobster Bisque in our home state of Ohio! The waitress said it was pureed but seriously, who wants Lobster Bisque with absolutely no bites/ chunks of lobster?? My husband prefers to not eat out in touristy areas and I guess this proves his point.

This review is for dining only. We didn’t stay at the Inn. Café Drydock is a perfect option for downtown Southwest Harbor if you’re looking for something super convenient and need a change from frequenting the Lobster Pounds OR if everything else is closed on a Monday or Tuesday. The crab cakes were so-so, but everyone else in my family really loved their dish. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was on point, and not too rich like many of them. My mom is picky about her Lobster Mac & Cheese and loved it. They have some casual selections and some great seafood and salad items. Excellent service as well! I would give it 4 stars just because of the service and interesting combinations but it’s not a “must-go-to” restaurant. Definitely a wonderful place and I would recommend it. Enjoy some of the photos I took and give it a try.

Good location. Nice atmosphere. Service was friendly. (Though the staff meeting near the bar was a bit distracting, with its talk of rotting strawberries and other kitchen stuff). Friend haddock sandwich was TERRIFIC. Generous sides of chips and pasta salad. (Annoyingly, they failed to remove the tomato from the sandwich as I had asked). The root beer hit the spot. The bar seats were were a bit uncomfortable because they seat part was too short (and thus cut into my thighs as my legs hung down). Would definitely return.

Since it was raining, outside venues were not a choice so we looked for a good indoor dining restaurant. We ended up at the Dry Dock Inn and Restaurant about 25 minutes away from Bar Harbor. There was free parking, great service and amazing food and drinks! Our server Ronda was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Every course came out hot and fresh. We started with a Lobster Puff (AMAZING) light and flaky with Boursin cheese and large pieces of fresh lobster. For dinner we had the Lazy Lobster in butter sauce that was absolutely fabulous. The fresh lobster in the butter cream sauce was delicious and we used the fresh bread to soak up the sauce.

Both the Inn and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Cadillac suite for two nights and enjoyed a dinner downstairs that was absolutely delicious. I ordered the crab stuffed scallops and I still think about how good it was. I would come back in a heartbeat.
