i want to thank the cashier at Shaws yesterday who went over my check out order when i discovered a mistake in the charges. She was polite and attentive in rechecking my order to get it right.I have had bad experiences in places like Whole Foods where once a cashier told me to go elsewhere when I questioned the total.

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION: JacobHuge shout out to employee, Jacob. He is the MVP and has helped me literally countless times every time I shop at Shaw's. He is literally ALWAYS smiling and happy to help a customer, whether it's applying finicky coupons, fielding questions, answering questions, helping me pick up FedEx packages, asking about watermelon spears, or calling corporate about the terms of a coupon, or calling corporate about Shaw's points that didn't apply correctly. He goes above and beyond literally every time without me even having to ask. He will do everything he possibly can, whether that is calling the manager to ask about the specifics of a policy, or calling corporate to ask about Shaw's points. Or getting produce department to make a freshly cut watermelon spears made for you at 9pm. Jacob is literally amazing. He is always helping out, and if you even look slightly confused, he is there to help you before you even have to ask. ALSO, he always says hello to everyone when they enter! It makes me feel so welcome and like a unique individual and valued shopper! A greeting can really make someone's day!!!!! Please give Jacob a raise and promotion. He is the best customer service employee EVER!! and he knows how to do EVERYTHING ! lol!EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION: DevonAlso, thank you so much to Devon in produce for making me a custom, freshly made watermelon spears at 9pm! I've absolutely found Millcreek Shaw's to provide better customer care than any other grocery store, including Hannaford and Market Basket!!!Always really well stocked, especially the produce section. The stuff looks really good and is super fresh. All of the staff are super nice, helpful, and hard-working, and very sweet and patient, both at the front and in produce section!!!! Never given a hard time. they're always happy to help with coupons and fedex picks ups. Nothing but good things to say about the people who work here!!!!Because of its location, this Shaw's has less foot traffic than some other grocery stores, which makes it a way more enjoyable and calm shopping experience.There are tons of self checkouts (8 different self checkout kiosks!! You will NEVER be waiting in long lines waiting to use one like at other grocery stores!!!). Super Helpful employees. A clean, brightly lit store. I really love this Shaw's. They even have my favorite cider: Ricker Hill! Also super well stocked with the stuff!!Great deals on fruit, too. Got 2 huge containers of precut strawberries for $10 total. They were already washed & cut and super ripe. The amount of strawberries in each one was way more than in the standard rectangular containers, but for the same price! (And these are already washed and cut, so you're not paying for stems!!!)Also, the biggest draw is that these strawberries were all super red and ripe. Every other store sells underripe strawberries that are sour and have lots of green/white

Just re-vamped! Even better than it was before although they should rename it "Shaws 99"...most of the products are priced " $x. 99"... x being a dollar amount. Price appearances are everything I guess.Excellent selection of products, great produce, deli and seafood counters. Aisle rarely crowded with racks of "impulse buy stuff". And a great parking lot!

Seriously, what is going on at this store?Just close it already.No longer any humans at the service desk, no one in seafood, no one in the bakery, nobody anywhere.Get up front and there are two people on registers.Now they have installed self checkouts like its not 30 years too late?

Millcreek Shaws is the worst Shaws I’ve been to. the bottle room is a safety hazard I found a heroin needle in there, the front end is horribly short staffed and theres always someone leaving the front to go in there, doesn’t help the store is horribly ran by in competent people

I wish I could rate 0 stars. I feel for the young employees who work here, management treats them terribly. It is absolutely shameful. I would never allow my child to work here. I will no longer be shopping with this Shaws location; I highly recommend that management take a class on how to treat and talk to people.

Store may look presentable but they consistently sell food well beyond the sell-by date. Cubed cantaloupe was 4 days past sell by date so it was good and slimy. It got even better when I found ice cream still in the freezer that was two months past the sell-by date.Updating review based on a great response from the owner. Thank you for being proactive.

Witnessed who I assume was a manager shout in anemployees face and then storm off. Unbelievable &Unacceptable behavior. Every time I come into thisshaws location, the management is alwaysunbelievably rude to both customers and employees.Absolutely shameful that these are the type of people that are in charge; especially because it seems they only have children & young adults running the registers. If I were a parent to any of those employees, I would be very angry to know thats how they’re treated in this store.

Great grocery. The deli selection is superb! All the Italian style pastas, peppers, and garlic mushrooms were perfect! If I ever make it back to south Portland, I will visit again! The people were great too!

Came in for one item, Lucerne cheddar cheese. I had to dig a dozen packages deep on the shelf to find one that wasn't over a month past its expiration date, some of them were VERY moldy. There is quite a bit of rotting dairy in this store, absolutely disgusting.

Usually very quiet and uncrowded store, but even when dead you will still have to wait in line to check out.Carefully take advantage of their loss leaders. The ambience seems designed to please those who are most comfortable in institutional settings.

This is not a heavily trafficked store, which is nice, but in the same respect it is difficult to move through quickly because of the lack of self checkouts and cashiers. Most times it seems like there is one express lane and one full lane - so maybe you have 12 items (not 10) and you're forced to stand in line between 2 to 3 full carts, or bear the reprimand from the cashier for having a few items over. It's just not worth the hassle. Hannaford, much busier, is faster than Shaws.

Clean uncluttered store. Things are logically placed. Two employees stand out as having the exceptional friendly and courteous manner. Those are a deli person who goes by the name of Junior and a young man with longer hair Alex at the check out line. Also the manager ive met is very helpful and always great I'm a fan of this store.

It seems every individual grocery store, even the same chain, has to make things confusing for customers. The store was in good shape and clean, but I had to search hard for the items I came to get. One woman stocking the shelves was helpful, but my cashier made me wait while he told another store employee his personal stories, and then wasn't particularly friendly afterward.

I don't know what it is about Shaw's stores, but there always seems to be a conscious effort to only open about half of the number of checkout lanes needed to handle customers reasonably quickly. The best you'll ever see is maybe three lanes open during the busiest hours. There's a reason I shop at Hannaford instead.

Millcreek store the worst. Expensive. Quality marginal. Spoiled fish and poultry. Huge flies in deli cases and store. Clueless staff. Teenagers running store evenings. Registers wrong most of time, digital coupons don't ring up most of time. Bathrooms dirty and smelly. Staff apathetic and not customer focused. Scarborough store slightly worse but not by much. Their staff is even ruder. What happened to Shaws??? I'm so done. I was shorted 45 dollars at Shaws Millcreek last week, between wrong prices and useless digital coupons. Come on in Marke Basket...

Certainly some good deals and better selection of quality food than anticipated. No self-checkout. Coupon flyer didn't match in-store prices on a few things. Worth a look for bargain shoppers.

I went in the store at 0900 on Monday morning. I had some returnable bottles to drop off before I shopped. There was a man working in the bottle room and the 3 automated machines all said closed. I asked him if he would process my returnables since he was standing right in the bottle room. He said come back at 1000. I asked him to turn on the machines. He said at 1000. So your store is open but you won't help me in the bottle returns area.I took my bottles and my long shopping list and went right over to Hannaford. I'm sure the customer service will be much better there and Shaw's just lost another customer.

Save your time and money. The produce is often old and wilted. I have found rotten and moldy fruit too many times to shop here. The rest of the food is overpriced and too close to the expiration date, sometimes long past. I have seen this at other Shaws stores before. I don't have a lot of patience for sifting through old food to find the fresh stuff.There are some decent people that work there, but a lot of the employees just seem miserable and rude. I think some of those people are actually the ones in charge. Unless Hannaford falls into the ocean, I don't think I will visit here ever again.Also I noticed someone else mentioned the weird lighting. I completely agree, it is strange.

Shopping experience was good. Out of sale item but grocery manager gave us a replacement item.Bottle redemption is a total joke! Signs everywhere stating a two bag limit but people with multiple grocery carts full of returnable as allowed to take up all the time available. When someone came to take care of a full machine, he was gone so fast afterwards he didn't even take care of other issues. Then your stuck ringing the bell FOREVER!!!!

The smelliest gross bathroom in a grocery store goes to Shaws. And why were there twist ties all over the floor? And why did that one cashier get some one to cover for his register and then stopped to talk to every single cashier on the way back to the poor girl he stuck there? While 3 cash registers were open and a ton of full carts lined up. Also the "deals" this week are all near expiration date so may the force be with you. In the bottom tier of shaws, which is already a sad place to shop any ways. They do have good fruit and veg.

The sales are often very good but the everyday prices are usually cheaper at hannaford just up the street. If you have time to compare prices you can save a fair amount of money. Customer service is usually very good
