I needed a waterproof blanket asap. I never go to Petco but they hadn't them. I didn't know where anything was in the store so I asked. The first lady simple stated "that they don't sell anything like that" I had looked online and they were available for in store pickup so I showed another woman my phone and she said looked somewhere for 5 seconds and goes "if they aren't here, they aren't anywhere." She was extremely rude and acted like I was annoying and bothering her. It still said they were available for in store pickup so I looked around again and found them no thanks to any of the staff. I won't be back.

I have an aquarium and I know the bare minimum. I have been with you from the beginning - about 10 years - and always had terrific experiences at your store, with salespeople always helpful and willing to teach and make suggestions. I refuse to shop anywhere else.

Got a new fish tank set up, wish there was a 20 Gallon Long kit, but only had 20 Gallon Tall kit. And cost $20 more than what it said it would online for everything. Overall, pretty good experience. Everything was near each other making it easy to find

The man that was taking care of the fish, was incredibly rude, and wouldn’t provide any help. He basically just told us all the stuff that he would not sell us. I went to Petsmart today, and had a fabulous experience. The people that were running the fish area at Petsmart were very knowledgeable, kind, and truly wanted to help me. The Petco store that I went to, was dirty, and appeared very rundown. The woman at the register was also very rude, and acted like she had 1 million other places that she would rather be. I will not be going back to that store, and all my business will be going to Petsmart.

Some girl with tan skin and dark hair w glasses has a power trip every single time she talks to customers and acts like she knows everything.Will never come to this store again unless I want an assault charge on my record.

Every week I go in here and spend between 50 and 65 a week. It seems that every week no matter what time I go or even day I have to climb over product that you are stocking shelves with . Why you cover the entire nulo cat food area I don't know but it's annoying & so sorry I am in you guys way as I shop maybe you can not block the product you already have on the shelves would be nice.

ake my Maltese dog to a haircut, it was a horrible experience, they didn't cut her hair properly and they also charge you a lot for a cut that is ugly, my dog looks ugly, very bad, I don't recommend this place. The worst decision I ever made

Talked to a man tonight about a goldfish and wouldn't sell us a good fish unless it was a 30 gallon tank. Very rude and had the worst attitude. I will start going to petsmart. Ruined the whole experience with my son.

Please share - my grandmother purchased 2 / 30lb bags of whole hearted dog food from Petco in south portland Maine - she told them she found these bugs in the dog food and wanted either a refund or gift card for a different dog food to which the worker said if she didn’t have her receipt she couldn’t do anything. My grandmother used a gift card so I’m very aware that they can look this up especially since she told her the time date and event when she was there. My nana has also reached out to them via email with no response and attempted to call with no return calls . I’m hoping my friends/family and other animal owners share this to get them blasted on social media to do the right thing! As well as check other Batches to ensure other animal safety.

They carry quite a few brands and mostly in stock. Some items seem to be only available online. Went a couple of years without owning a dog... Prices went crazy in those 2 years but that's probably true everywhere.

Friendly service but frustrating when buying live bugs for your lizards and frogs!! They charge you for a certain number of bugs 1/2 are dead when you get home and the rest die within a couple days!! I think the tanks and terrariums are ridiculously priced as well as the lighting and heating !

Used to be loyal customer + vital care member since 2020 at the grooming salon. We were flagged for “no call no showing” and turned away to reschedule a groom for our pup, although my husband and I called the store multiple times to reschedule, constant phone tag with the salon to reschedule and set up appointments. We’re honestly pretty disappointed and weren’t aware of their policy and did not receive a warning even after being loyal customers for 2 years. Also, we recently realized we have been overcharged at-least $15 each service, over the past 2 years, because they had our dog marked as a medium size and he is only small, 10lbs not 26lbs (I should’ve double checked). Their team should communicate with the customers about the policy for voicemail messages prior to flagging. I tried explaining our side and that we called to communicate/reschedule as we have in the past if we needed to. It’s unfortunate, because our dog has been groomed there since he was a puppy. Loyalty does not go a long way. Stay away from this store. In the past, we have left voicemails which were not returned yet we are blamed for not leaving a voicemail this time. Unprofessional and overbooked. Anytime we did call to reschedule an appointment or two they’re booked out weeks. Save yourself the hassle and book at a salon that is staffed properly and the staff get back to customers in a timely professional manner. We understood that this location and staff are busy. Many times we had to coordinate our schedules to accommodate our dog’s groomer, we expected some considerations. Do not take your pet here.

Advertising says walk in for certain services do not believe it! Drove 40 mins for a nail trim that would take less than 10 mins, was told they couldn’t do it at all today. When one employee wasn’t doing anything and another hadn’t started with a dog that just walked in. When I said that online advertised walk ins welcome she said well that’s online. I did not feel like I was valued as a customer they did not try to solve my problem or make any attempt to make me a customer feel like my business is important. I called up Wag and Wash down the road and they know customer service got me right in as a walk in and we’re absolutely great go there locally owned instead of a corporation

Kids like to come here . They currently have cats up for adoption, though they are owned by Animal refuge league in Westbrook. Can't take them out to pet unless an employee of the League comes to meet you They are all So sweet! They need good homes ! Come say hi to them !

The service I received was great. I am currently traveling out of state with the dog. My wife usually gets the dog food, so I'm less familiar with where things are and what to get her. So, being able to select the products on-line and then pick them up in the store was *super* easy. And, when I arrived, the sales clerk was very friendly, very helpful, and also worked to make sure that I knew that I was getting the right supplies for my dog. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Mikayla is a great groomer. She cut my dogs’ (2) nails in under 15 minutes. They were cut and buffed. Both of my dogs can be a bit squirrelly about getting their nails cut. Both dogs are over 60 lbs and were happy and tails wagging when they were done. Mikayla has an amazing way with dogs.

This is a well stocked petco that we got our ferret from. No problem with her at all. But the worker that helped us seemed irritated that we were asking questions. But I also went to the fish department and the worker there seemed alot more patient and seemed to know his stuff. So it seems hit or miss

Well stocked with pet supplies. Not a fan of selling reptiles to people who have no idea how to care for them. Lots of live aquatic plants, fish and aquarium supplies. Disappointed that they never reopened the self serve dog wash after Covid closed it.

Chi in the fish department was so helpful. We are starting our first freshwater tank and I’ve been overwhelmed by all of the information I’ve found online. Chi answered all of my questions (there were many). Their tanks look clean and the fish look happy and well cared for.

We purchased fish tank items and visited the fish while we were there. The guy working the fish tanks was very knowledgeable. And the women who helped us get our order was friendly and check outlined moved fast. Store seemed clean. Only problem was the number of live plants and fish we could not purchase was almost bigger than the ones we could purchase.
