We always have great care at Cape Veterinary Clinic. I had a concern with our pup that needed attention in addition to his annual checkup. We were offered a same day or next day appointment where all of my concerns were addressed. Staff from the front desk to the back are wonderful! Chewy loves the cookies and treats provided during his visit and staff are great at handling him with care.

Every experience at the Cape Veterinary Clinic has been a positive one for me and my pets. The staff is always caring and helpful, and the facility is clean and well taken of. I’m made to feel welcome, and that my pets health is a priority to them, not only during a health crisis but during every visit.

We love our Cape Veterinary Clinic doctors and staff! Kind and responsive always.....helpful, too. Our Lily has had quite a troublesome problem recently and is just getting over it due to their good care and treatment. Dr. Brauer is about the kindest, most patient and helpful person we have had the pleasure to work with! All the doctors have been wonderful, but this is our first experience with Dr. Harry and we feel Lily has been so well taken care of.....us, too! Thanks to you all! Diane and Richard Armstrong

I wanted to give an updated review, although not much has changed! I've always had such wonderful, positive experiences at Cape Vet. The receptionists are always very kind and efficient, and the vet techs and veterinarians clearly care a lot about the animals. My springer Bonnie has been going here since she was 8 weeks old - she's a little testy in the medical environment, but she still gets all the love when she visits Dr. Greenbaum and the rest of the staff. I also take my lucky cat Cricket here - she sees Dr. Conti and I am confident she gets the best of care. I've recently switched my mom's two cats over to Cape Vet as well, with great results. I recommend Cape Vet 10/10

I've been bringing our pets to Cape Veterinary Clinic for decades and feel I can rely on their expertise, but not on their kindness. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the barrel. While they seem heavily staffed, they are not helpful and could use some simple training in courtesy. One in particular prances about and reprimands pet owners for not having enough arms - hard to hold a leash, sign paperwork and pay hundreds of dollars simultaneously. I've witnessed this woman shout at others too.

Inconsiderate vet. All they care about is money, not the pet, not the owner and circumstances that may arise. They charge a 50 dollar same day cancellation fee. I have NEVER experienced such a money hungry vet. We will NEVER take our animals back to this facility. Be AWARE. And every time we go in the receptionists are always chatting and couldn’t be bothered to help when you come in. DO NOT GO HERE

Appreciate soooo much the professionalism and friendly demeanor of Janice, Greer, Dr. Greenbaum and...can't recall the super friendly assistant who worked with us last time before Dr. Greenbaum came to the room. Love this place, and my dog Scruples doesn't even try to head for the door the moment we walk inside. That says a lot! Happy Valentine's Day staff!

We love Cape Veterinary Clinic! This has been our dogtor home since Harriet was a puppy and we first moved to the area. She has been seen by Drs Reynolds. Greenbaum, and most recently Dr. Braeuer who performed a small surgery on her, as well as countless vet techs. Every time we visit we are given the option to choose a preferred provider and we never feel like we need to because each doctor and each tech is as great as the last.

Janet and I thank you for the love and care you provide for Maddie. You always greet Maddie with excitement, pets and joy. She usually responds with peeing and you never mind. Maddie also says thank you, even though she gets nervous.

I've been taking my cats to Cape Vet for more than 20 years and have always been satisfied with their caring professionalism. Luna sees Dr. Terry, and Lila sees Dr. Greenbaum. We have been very pleased with both.

I stay with Cape Vet because they are professional and skilled, trustworthy vets. I have very small chihuahuas and I cannot trust just anyone with them.

My dog had a severe allergic reaction to the first dose of a vaccination that nearly killed him. This vet informed me on multiple occasions that they had noted his file not to have the vaccine. He went in for other vaccinations and despite a reminder that he couldn’t have the Lepto booster - they gave it to him. They were not apologetic or empathetic to the issues that arose. Another time they ordered extremely expensive bloodwork without advising of the cost. This used to be a family - now they are impersonal and uncaring.

We took our sweet 15 year old cat Stormy to Cape Veterinary Clinic and we are so pleased! The care that they provided was great! We did not have to wait for our scheduled visit, and were seen right away. Our Vet did not try to talk us into any unnecessary shots or testing, and gave us a very reasonable price to remove a growth on Stormy's forehead. We have found a forever vet for our animals. Thank you!!

Outside of the limitations we are all dealing with regarding Covid-19, there wasn't much that I could say could be improved about the process or care provided our dog. Great job by the Cape Veterinary team!

A month after my 4 month old puppy was "fully vaccinated" I received something in the mail that said he was missing both his Lyme/Lepto and DHPP Series. After being confused becaues the vet had told me "see you in one year, he's all set", I followed up to find out why I received the post card in the mail. They were just as confused and told me they would call back. When they called back they stated they were able to "find" his Lyme/Lepto but were not able to "find" his DHPP.This means that my 4 month old puppy was possibly at risk of Distemper and Parvo, among other things, due to the neglect of Cape Vet Clinic. Not one person said "sorry we will make this right". I asked what the risks are if he's double vaccinated and they could not provide me that information. After doing some of my own research, I went in and demanded a titer test so we could determine if he received it and it wasn't recorded, or if he was missing the vaccine. This was all happening on a Tuesday, and I was told a vet would be calling me on Wednesday. Crickets. I called on Thrusday to follow up on the results, and was told that they could not see if the results were received back yet or not, but that a vet would be following up on Friday. The only call I received Friday was for payment of the test, which I argued I should not have to pay due to their negligence, and it being the only way to determine if he received the vaccine or not.I am fully aware that mistakes can happen, and that we are all human. However, not once did Cape Vet Clinic offer an apology for their negletfulness on either giving him the shot, or recording it properly. Not once did they try to offer a solution to right their own wrong. And I have yet to find out the results of the titer test.Update - The vet called me a few hour after writing this review. She took ownership that she thought he had his booster even though the paperwork showed he was supposed to receive it that day. They did not continue to request payment for the Titer test since that was the only way to determine if my dog was at risk and if they had actually given him the booster or not.

Today was my first time at Cape Vet Clinic. I was nervous because even though it was just a cat checkup it had been awhile since our cat had been to the vet and I was nervous for her and for the whole experience. Dr. Risteen and her staff were absolutely DELIGHTFUL and incredible. She was so kind to me, and to my cat. She loved her up, was so knowledgeable and warm and made me feel at ease with all of my questions. I can’t say enough good things about the experience! So excited that we found a place that feels so wonderful!

This clinic is wonderful. From the beginning, they helped revitalize an area of South Portland that needed new businesses. They bought local. They support local vendors. As they’ve grown they’ve kept the right values and attitudes. I’ve always been greeted with a smiling face and eager to assist employees. Even as they’ve gotten larger they continue to keep a clean, safe, inviting and professional environment. This past year or two the demand for animals and their services have increased while supply of workers have decreased (or hard to find) and this clinic has done a great job navigating that water while continuing to grow and not “lose themselves” in the growth. We recently joined the Cape family with our dog, Jack. Our vet was a young grad that was great and very knowledgeable. Not only will you have great healthcare for your pets but you’ll be giving back to them and supporting local business. Two thumbs up.

The Cape Veterinary Clinic is simply fabulous! All the doctors are excellent and so are all the others who help run the business! The place is always clean and everyone, including the dogs and cats seem very happy to be there. I know Bailey and I are! They've always taken terrific care of my dog's needs and their prices are extremely reasonable in comparison to other veterinary clinics. You will be happy if you go there!

I have been with Cape Vet since the Robisons and continue to be very happy with the care my pooches receive over the years.Tonight, my lab was seen for an emergent eye infection on very short notice. Once again, the visit was a perfect balance between professionalism with a personal touch.I have dealt with all the vets at one time or another, and all have gone out of their way to patiently explain the treatment options, any medications required, and follow up.I can always count on Cape Vet to be there when I need them, and always feel my dog has received the best care available.

They used to be the best. When we moved to Maine they took such great care of our Basset Hound until we said goodbye. They continued to provide good service throughout COVID. Now that restrictions are easing though they are getting worse. We are an established client and can't get our sick dog in to be seen for a month. I ask each time when they will be staffing up and I always get the vague "we are working on it" answer. I'd suggest you look elsewhere, we will be. It's too bad because Dr. Greenbaum is wonderful.
