Good ol' local country fare! I had never had Maine Red Dogs with Baked Beans and it was excellent, as was my daughter's chicken stew with biscuits and my son's pizza. Good selection of baked goods at the store. Looks a bit rough around the edges but service and food was great.

If you're not from here, don't go here. As an outsider, I was ignored, literally having to go up to the counter to ask the service woman if I could put in an order. She wouldn't even come to the table, but she was all accomodating, friendly and attentive to others who she was talking loudly with (presumed locals). She brought a half cup of coffee (who does that?!) that she dropped off, and the food was just unnerving. Table and condiments were sticky, especially the syrup container. No way to tell if and when it was ever cleaned. To finish off the ambiance, the walls -painted red - had several spackle patches around the room like someone went around punching it. Never finished the job, just big patches on the wall. Definitely not a welcome feel.If you hate outsiders, just put up a sign. Nobody deserves to be treated poorly just because they're not a regular customer.

Friendly staff, wonderful homestyle menu and great family atmosphere.My son and I stopped in for lunch. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and he had a burger basket. Everything was made to order and very good!

We came in at 8:00pm and they were cleaning the floor. I asked if they were closing, the young man who turned out to be the chef, said No come on in. They were so accommodating. I had the beans and hot dogs and my friend had chicken cordon Bleu. The food was excellent, very tasty. I Love the home made biscuits. Every time I go there the place is always clean and the bathroom is always really clean.

These guys care and try to make everyone’s day a little better when they come in. I have been very impressed by the demeanor and level of care the employees put into their work and interactions with customers. Good job guys, keep it up! 👍

We arrived hangry and blah and left happy and full. Homemade chili and corn chowder were both fabulous. The slaw burger was delish and served on the perfect soft bun. The grizzly melt on rye was a well-done medium rare but still good—not dry. The fried ham, turkey and cheese on rye was really tasty. The fries are seasoned and thick style, not the thin and crispy kind. Service was fine. I would be happy to go back!

My boyfriend and I stopped in on our way to Jackman for breakfast, food was excellent, wide variety, as well as thick cut french toast whip cream and fruit.. My favorite, but usually can't find at a little store. Eggs cooked to perfection and great home fries. 5 STARS Excellent service. Would recommend to anyone, and will go there again soon!

Both the store area and the diner area are tight. This is the perfect place for a manager to take her team out to lunch for pizza...they can all eat and chat together.It's great, if you look at the unlikelihood of finding another eatery close by...I'm not a fan of bigger is better...I'd rather better tasting.

Not sure where to start. My son and I went in for a quick dinner and sat at the little front counter. Not one person acknowledged us or asked how we were or if we knew what we wanted. I finally asked the guy sweeping the floor if the kitchen was open and he said yes so I told him I wanted a meatball sub. He continued to sweep the floor for 5 minutes before even starting my sub and when we got it the bread was burnt, the cheese was barely melted and the sauce was cold. Clearly he has no business making food. The young lady that was there was very polite and interacted with my son so he was happy but I will never go back there again.

I really like the atmosphere.I like the Country Store / restaurant.Food is good, staff is friendly.Too bad they can't seem to hire anyone forwait staff. Still a good home town feel.
